I am not the mastermind [Infinite]

by 四海孤舟

This is a terrifying, never-ending game initiated by the gods themselves, known as the Playground of the Pantheon. And somehow, Yi Fengchu, a mere supernatural-phenomena enthusiast, obtained a strange cellphone capable of contacting the Playground of the Pantheon. In return for listening to all manner of eerie ghost stories, he ended up helping one group of players after another escape from certain doom, witnessing the rise of countless legends. But he never imagined that while he remained addicted to watching the players’ stories as an uninvolved spectator, a rumor began spreading within the Playground, a rumor about Him. Some extremely fortunate players claimed they once picked up a mysterious phone left behind by an unknown existence within the dungeons. As long as they were willing to trade a terrifying experience of their own, they would receive a chance to survive their moment of utter despair. They called Him the Narrator, a being detached from all webs of causality, who could speak of life and death as casually as breathing. He was destiny, and he was eternity. He was the Ouroboros coiled along the edges of the world, the colossal serpent of the mortal realm, the king of silver-white serpents. “Without a doubt, this is the Pantheon’s infiltration. And clearly, He has already succeeded, most of the top players have received His blessing and follow His guidance.” Yi Fengchu: “…I have not.” “Perhaps He is the ultimate mastermind behind all these nightmares, a witness and observer from a higher dimension.” Yi Fengchu: “…Who are you talking about?” 2. Within the Playground of the Pantheon, a mysterious organization surfaced. It was said to be composed of high-ranking ability-users from every field, gathered together to escape what they called the Plague of Fate. Among them was an enigmatic prophet from an ancient civilization. His eyes, golden-red like the lingering glow of a sunset, reflected countless tangled lines of destiny. There was a formidable witch whose face was forever obscured by shadow. Her fingertips slid across the smooth surface of a silver mirror, capable of drawing all things into the labyrinth hidden beneath its glassy depths. There was a wandering bard who traveled between worlds with his own two feet. Dressed in a tattered grey cloak, he plucked the strings of his lyre and sang of histories long buried and forgotten. Every time these powerful figures appeared, the entire forum of the Playground would erupt into uproar, sparking waves of speculation, reverence, and dread. Meanwhile, Yi Fengchu’s friends had begun worrying about him. They had always assumed he was the only ordinary person in their circle, the sole one not tormented by the Playground of the Pantheon. They never expected that the moment he finally made a sound, he would shock them all. Not only had he caught the attention of the mysterious god suspected to be the mastermind, the Narrator, but it also seemed that the secretive organization known as the Ten-Day Tales was circling around him as well, revealing faint traces of an even deeper conspiracy. “Fengchu, none of those high-tier mystics have any conscience at all. Don’t you dare let their little favors tempt you into becoming their pawn…” Yi Fengchu was instantly choked speechless. Those were just my mecha-armor personas! Character cards authorized by the great reader, Master Wu Yi Wu! Praise her! …… Warnings: 1. This is a non-traditional infinite-stream story. At its core, it’s a power fantasy. The protagonist begins fully maxed-out and invincible. He is essentially non-human; his thought patterns, tastes, and even physical form may diverge from human norms. (See chapters 10–13 to gauge whether you can accept the degree of divergence.) Each dungeon is followed by substantial real-world plot. 2. Multiple POVs appear, but all follow the principle of highlighting the protagonist. Expect large amounts of wild guesses, over-analysis, and dramatic misinterpretations centered around him. 3. Some side characters misunderstand the relationship between the protagonist and his mecha personas, mistaking it for god and believer, parent and child, rivals, friends, and so on. If that bothers you, please be aware before reading. Forum discussions will be marked in the chapter titles or subtitles. 4. There are female mecha personas. Their identities will be explained later. 5. Civilized discussion is a cyber virtue. Any malicious comments will be deleted. If something slips by, feel free to help report it. Please avoid irrelevant comparisons, accusations of copying, or vague statements without concrete evidence. “It feels similar” cannot be used as proof. — Description from novelcodex.org
