Upon hearing this, Qin Hao turned his head and looked over, only to see a petite figure with twin ponytails standing at the doorway. It was Luoluo.

However, her condition was not good. Her originally large and bright eyes were tightly closed.

Two streams of bloodwater flowed down from her tightly shut eyelids.Full novel: I Am the Mental Counselor of the Netherworld Death Prison — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Your eyes…” Qin Hao said with a frown.

“As you can see, I’m blind.” Luoluo smiled lightly and walked into the room. “Please have the nurse bandage them for me.”

Chen Shengnan hurriedly nodded and began bustling about.

“What exactly did you go through?” Qin Hao asked.

“Want to know? Acknowledge me as your master, and I’ll tell you.” Luoluo said with a smile.

“How is the warden?” Qin Hao ignored her words.

“A monster like her is of course fine. She only suffered some minor injuries and will recover after resting for a few days.” Luoluo curled her lips.

Qin Hao fell into thought. Even Wang Ling, with strength like that, had been injured? What exactly had they encountered? What secrets was this prison hiding?

“Hey, we’ll have to depend on each other from now on. Aren’t you happy?” Luoluo asked again when she received no response.

“Depend on each other?” Qin Hao raised an eyebrow.

“Of course! You’ve lost an arm, but your eyes are fine. My arms are fine, but I’m blind. Isn’t it perfect? You can be my eyes, and I can be your hands. We’ll support each other, and that means we’ll depend on each other for survival, right?” Luoluo said coquettishly.

“That may be true, but there’s still a difference between men and women.” Qin Hao shook his head.

“Don’t be silly. What era are we living in? You’re still talking about distinctions between men and women? Besides, this is the Netherworld Death Prison. Who cares about that? If you let those female prisoners out, do you think they’d refrain from killing you because of some distinction between men and women?” Luoluo sneered.

Qin Hao smiled. “That’s true. I suppose I was being too attached to appearances.”

“Then choose one between her and me.” Luoluo said, a slight curve appearing at the corner of her lips.

Qin Hao looked at her and sighed softly. “It seems you’ve given me two choices, but in reality, I have no choice other than you.”

A smile spread across Luoluo’s lips. She said nothing, tacitly accepting his answer.

Chen Shengnan, however, asked in surprise:

“Why is there only one path? You can choose me.”

Qin Hao glanced at her and shook his head. “Luoluo, I choose you. I’ll be counting on you for the time being.”

“Hehe, at least you have a conscience and knew to choose me. Come on, I’ll take you back.”

By then, Luoluo’s eyes had already been bandaged. She suddenly jumped onto Qin Hao’s back, wrapped her arms around his neck, and said with a giggle:

“You’re blind, not unable to walk. Why do you need me to carry you?” Qin Hao asked helplessly.

“There’s too much clutter here, and I’m afraid I’ll fall. I’m already injured so badly; I can’t afford to get hurt again. Besides, who knows how many men outside are crying and begging to carry me? You’ve gotten a huge advantage, so just smile to yourself.” Luoluo said.

“But you should at least give me some time to soak in the healing fluid, shouldn’t you?”

“There’s no harm in skipping this low-grade healing fluid. I’ll give you a better healing potion when we get back.” Luoluo said.

Qin Hao nodded. “All right.”

“Hehe, then let’s go.” Luoluo urged him.

“See you later, Captain Chen.” Qin Hao called out to Chen Shengnan before turning and leaving.

Watching the two of them leave, Chen Shengnan knitted her brows, confusion still filling her eyes.

She did not understand why Qin Hao had said he had no choice.

Wasn’t she also an option? She was not dead.

“Death!” At this thought, Chen Shengnan’s heart shook violently. She finally understood why Qin Hao had said he had no choice.

Because Luoluo could never accept such an outcome. If he had chosen her, Luoluo might have killed her outright.

Qin Hao had actually saved her life.

She closed her eyes, took several deep breaths, and clenched both fists tightly.

After a long while, she suddenly turned around, closed the door of the medical room, and entered another room.

…

“Luoluo, you aren’t a prisoner, are you? Or rather, you aren’t a prisoner of this place.”

On the way back to the psychological counseling room, Qin Hao asked.

Luoluo snorted softly. “Naturally. If I didn’t want to be captured, no one could catch me—not even if Wang Ling made a move.”

Qin Hao nodded. “Then, have you finished what you promised the warden?”

Luoluo hesitated for a moment before saying, “Halfway, I suppose. It isn’t completely finished.”

“Then when will you leave?”

Luoluo tugged at his cheek. “What? Do you want me to leave that badly?”

“Not at all. I just want to determine the nature of this matter through your movements.” Qin Hao shook his head.

“Oh? You’re actually telling me the truth?” There was a hint of surprise in Luoluo’s voice. “I thought you’d keep beating around the bush and trying to trick the information out of me.”

“Now that we’re friends who depend on each other, why play tricks? It’s better to treat each other frankly.”

“Who’s your friend? I’m your master!” Luoluo huffed coquettishly. “Still, I like your answer, so I’ll tell you. This matter still needs to be observed for some time. I won’t leave during that period.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she suddenly frowned. “Wait! You still tricked me into answering! You knew I wouldn’t respond if you questioned me indirectly, so you did the opposite—pretending to be honest to win my trust!”

Qin Hao chuckled softly. “That’s not true. Do I look like that kind of person?”

“You don’t just look like one—you are one!” Luoluo pouted and tugged at Qin Hao’s face. “Don’t play tricks on me again! Anyone who once dared to scheme against me has grass growing high over their graves!”

“That’s not true. You’re overthinking it. I genuinely want to understand this matter.” Qin Hao shook his head.

Luoluo stopped moving her hand, pondered for a while, and said to him:

“This matter is beyond your reach. Don’t ask about it anymore. The more you know, the more dangerous it will be for you.”

“Fine! I won’t ask again.” Qin Hao nodded decisively.

“Hmm? That decisive?” Luoluo was somewhat surprised.

“Yes. I sensed your sincerity, as well as that trace of fear. If even you fear it, then it truly isn’t something I can touch.” Qin Hao replied. He understood clearly that curiosity was a good thing, but if one could not control it, courting death was only a matter of time.

“Bah! What fear? This girl fears neither Heaven nor Earth. I’m utterly fearless! Fear? It doesn’t exist!” Luoluo snorted softly and raised her head.

Qin Hao smiled lightly and said nothing more.

Before long, the two returned to the psychological counseling room, where they discovered a problem together:

It was already nighttime—the time to sleep.

However, the psychological counseling room had only one single bed.

How were they supposed to sleep?
