“Mi Mi, does it have to be like this? You know I…”

“Alright, I only have one request. If you can’t do it, don’t bother me.”

Ruan Mi threw the paper in her hand at Mu Xiubai’s face, interrupting what he was about to say.Full novel: I Exit a Three-Person Marriage Remarry My Best Friend’s Older Brother and Fall Madly in Love — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The white paper floated past Mu Xiubai’s eyes, and Ruan Mi saw anger and restraint in his eyes.

Her thin lips slightly raised, and she lifted her leg to leave, but Mu Xiubai pulled her back, her back slamming hard against the wall, the pain making her beautiful eyebrows furrow.

“Ruan Mi, I sincerely came to apologize and make peace with you, why do you have to humiliate me like this?”

As he spoke, his gloomy eyes looked towards the private room, his body leaning down, and he whispered in Ruan Mi’s ear.

“Bo Ye isn’t someone you can cling to. I admit you’re somewhat attractive, but do you really think a used woman like him would take you seriously?

As a man myself, I know his thoughts all too well. It’s just a fling; if you take it seriously, you’ll be a fool.”

“So what? What’s it to you?” Ruan Mi’s voice was unusually calm.

She pushed him forcefully, and Mu Xiubai took a step back.

Mu Xiubai was somewhat astonished; even after all that, Ruan Mi didn’t seem to care.

Ruan Mi: “Mu Xiubai, haven’t I told you, sometimes you’re really hypocritical, so hypocritical it’s disgusting.”

Before Mu Xiubai could react, Ruan Mi had already walked away.

She turned on the tap to wash her face; the cold water sobered her up a bit. She took out a tissue to dry her face and quickly touched up her makeup.

When she looked up, she suddenly saw someone else in the mirror.

Zhou Mei.

“I really underestimated you. You’ve already signed the divorce papers, and you still managed to seduce Xiubai to see you.”

Zhou Mei’s tone was cold, even carrying the air of a wife catching her husband cheating.

Ruan Mi’s delicate eyebrows furrowed almost imperceptibly.

She was truly persistent.

She lowered her head, put the lipstick into her bag, and then turned to face Zhou Mei.

She slowly approached, step by step, until she had Zhou Mei cornered.

Zhou Mei instinctively clutched her stomach.

Zhou Mei: “What are you doing?”

Seeing Zhou Mei’s movement, Ruan Mi sneered. She was truly stubborn in words but cowardly in action.

“Are you following me, or are you following Mu Xiubai? I think you’re following Mu Xiubai, right?

Since you’re following Mu Xiubai, you should know that it’s Mu Xiubai who’s been messing with me.

Even if you’re right, so what?

We haven’t gotten a divorce certificate yet, we’re still husband and wife, and you, the mistress, what right do you have to point fingers at me?”

Zhou Mei’s eyes were filled with resentment and unwillingness: “I’m not a mistress! Xiubai has loved me from beginning to end. You took advantage of the situation, you shamelessly offered yourself up as a substitute.”

Ruan Mi let out a chuckle.

“Since he loves you so much, what are you afraid of? And why do you keep causing me trouble?

Or have you also realized that Mu Xiubai’s love for you isn’t so pure?

You can be sacrificed at will when faced with huge interests.”

As she spoke, her eyes lowered to Zhou Mei’s stomach. “He can even easily abandon this child.”

“You’re talking nonsense! Xiubai loves me! He values this child immensely! This child will be the heir to the Mu Group from birth!”

Zhou Mei’s face contorted, stung by her words.

Clutching her stomach, she slowly moved closer to Ruan Mi, speaking in a chilling voice only the two of them could hear.

“Ruan Mi, it’s not pleasant to be neglected by the one you love and betrayed by the one you trust.

No matter how good your family background is, what can you do? Gu Lanying will never let you give birth to Xiubai’s child.”

Ruan Mi’s face instantly turned cold. She grabbed Zhou Mei’s chin, and the mention of the child reminded her of Gu Lanying drugging her.

She had secretly seen a doctor, and it seemed unlikely she would ever have a child again.

“Zhou Mei, what do you know?”

To expedite the divorce, she had put aside the matter of Gu Lanying drugging her.

Now, thinking back, if Mu Xiubai didn’t want her to have a child with the Mu family, he wouldn’t have touched her anyway; why bother?

But judging from Zhou Mei’s tone, things weren’t so simple.

Zhou Mei: “You want to know? I won’t tell you.”

Ruan Mi’s almond-shaped eyes narrowed slightly, and she pressed down hard, forcing her against the sink .

“Zhou Mei, you’d better not let me find out you’re involved in this.

Otherwise, I’ll make you regret it for the rest of your life.”

She was determined to find out the truth, and no matter who was involved, she wouldn’t let them get away with it.

Zhou Mei leaned against the sink, staring intently at Ruan Mi’s departing figure.

Only after Ruan Mi’s figure disappeared through the door did she breathe a sigh of relief.

She had only overheard a few words about Gu Lanying drugging Ruan Mi; she didn’t really know why she was so determined to ruin Ruan Mi.

If Ruan Mi hadn’t provoked her, she wouldn’t have blurted it out.

But it was fine; it just went to provoke Ruan Mi into taking action against her, which would benefit her next plan.

She unconsciously tightened her grip on her bag, her eyes filled with madness.

On the way back, Ruan Mi remained quiet, the scenery outside the window rushing past, the dim streetlights shining through the car window onto her porcelain-white face.

There wasn’t a trace of a smile.

She knew Bo Ye had been watching her, but she still showed no intention of explaining.

“Who upset you? You look so awful.”

A deep, magnetic voice sounded in the car; Bo Ye had finally asked.

Ruan Mi forced a smile. “Nothing, just a bit upset from not drinking for so long.”

She made up a lie; she couldn’t let Bo Ye know about Gu Lanying giving her sterilization drugs.

She didn’t want Bo Ye to worry about her, and she didn’t want such a shameful thing to become public knowledge.

“Tianyi, let’s go to the hospital.”

Tianyi was very obedient, and the change of direction was smooth.

“No need, some stomach medicine will do. It’s not necessary to go to the hospital yet.”

Ruan Mi turned around and tried to stop him. She hated hospitals; the smell of disinfectant would suffocate her.

Unless absolutely necessary, hospitals were off-limits to her.

Bo Ye stared intently and asked, “Are you sure?”

Ruan Mi nodded quickly. “Really, we have stomach medicine at home. I’ll just take some.” She

reached out and grabbed Bo Ye’s sleeve, pulling slightly.

Bo Ye lowered his head, his eyes darkening, his soft, boneless hands nervously gripping his sleeve.

Even after all these years, she still had such a strong aversion to hospitals.

“Back to Yujing Bay.”

The car sped along, and the two entered the villa one after the other.

Aunt Zhang, seeing them return, quickly came forward.

“Aunt Zhang, get the stomach medicine out, and pour a glass of honey water,”

Bo Ye instructed while changing his shoes.

Ruan Mi had already gone to the sofa, settling in comfortably with a sigh.

Bo Ye sat down next to her.

“When did your stomach become so bad?”

Bo Ye handed her the medicine, which Ruan Mi took and swallowed in one gulp. Aunt Zhang quickly offered her honey water, but Ruan Mi waved her hand.

“No need.”

After drinking bitter medicine for so many years, she couldn’t even taste the bitterness of Western medicine pills anymore.

Bo Ye glanced at her, his eyes deepening.
