Many things happened in the past few days.
The first one was that I finally rolled over in bed, and I even managed to pull my hand out from under the body.
But this is a secret.
Because I did it when no one was watching.
I have decided to do it in front of Mum later.
I want to see the expression on her face when I do that.
The second thing is that my parents finally decided to baptise me on the coming Sunday.
I didn’t like that idea.
I wasn’t against getting baptised.
But I hated the process.
The third and most important thing was that Anu had finally fallen in love with Dad.
This happened in my previous life as well.
She wanted to marry dad and told everyone.
Later, when she grew up, it became something for all of us to tease her about.
There was even one video in which she was arguing with our Mum.
“Appa once told me that I am his favourite girl.
So that part is clear.
The issue is Mum.
I don’t think she will be ready to accept it.” Anu said with a very serious face.
I was trying my best not to laugh.
I pinched myself to prevent myself from laughing.
“You don’t look good.
Do you want to make gold?” She asked me, a bit confused.
‘Making gold’ was a euphemism Dad taught her.
The real meaning of the usage was pooping.
Whenever she wanted to poop, she would say that she wanted to make gold.
Mum originally didn’t like this.
But she decided to let it go, as it was far better than Anu screaming in public that she wanted to poop.
“No…
This is my thinking face.” I replied.
“You should change your thinking face.
It looks stupid.” She advised me seriously.
Little girl, you are the stupidest thing in this house.
Even the cat is more intelligent than you.
I didn’t say it aloud.
“What do I do now?” She murmured.
“There is only one way.
You have to face it directly.” I slowly decided to add oil to the fire.
By the way, my speech improved a lot in a few days.
I can pretty much talk fluently without any trouble.
“How?”
“You have to pick a day when everyone is present.
Then you have to publicly announce it.”
“Ok.
Then I will do it during dinner.”
“No.
That’s not enough.
We need a lot more people.
Let’s wait a bit.”
I decided to set the trap slowly.
To create the most embarrassing memory for my lovely sister.
This so-called day with everyone would be my baptism.
“That’s a good idea.”
“Also, you have to ask someone to record it.”
“Good.
You are intelligent despite your small head.” Anu praised me as she patted my head and gave a small kiss on my cheek.
I was laughing inside.
An evil laugh like in the movies.
She would probably end up heartbroken.
But this will become one of the happiest days in Dad’s life.
In my previous life, he was proud to say that he was his daughter’s first love.
“But whatever happens, you have to keep our conversation a secret.
Because even if you fail, I have another idea.” I decided to control her.
I couldn’t let her tell everyone our secret.
Not that anyone would believe her.
“How can I fail?”
“You know…
adults are dumb.”
“Yes, they are.” She agreed readily with me.
After talking to her a bit more, my evil plan came into shape.
She was only four.
An innocent, stupid kid who would believe anything I said.
Her vocabulary was limited.
So I had to secretly train her for the speech.
Luckily, the minds of kids were like a sponge.
They soak in everything very quickly.
She easily learned the little speech I prepared for her.
Days passed in the blink of an eye.
It was Sunday.
The day I would be baptised.
We went to church in the morning.
I have to be honest here.
Attending the holy mass was a bit boring for me.
But I actually liked going to church.
Because it was a place with many memories from my previous life.
My parents’ wedding was also there.
So I am a bit emotionally attached to the church.
After the baptism, there was a small party in the school auditorium.
During the entire program, I didn’t cry or make any trouble for my parents.
“He is a bit too well-behaved today.
Are you sure he is okay?” My aunt asked.
“He is alright.
Some kids are just like this.” A beautiful aunt replied before my Mum could say anything.
I knew this lady.
She was Dad’s ex-lover.
Mum and she had a very delicate relationship with each other.
But they never fought.
Because anything like that would anger Dad, and neither of the girls wanted that.
Everyone praised me for being a good boy.
The guests gave me some presents.
But I didn’t even get to touch those before my Mum took them away.
There were even two gold rings which I would never get to wear.
After the party, we went home.
Some close friends and neighbours followed us home and started chatting.
I looked at Anu.
This was the time.
She nodded at me.
She told someone to record it and climbed on the table.
“Everyone, pay attention.
I have something to say…” She gathered everyone’s attention.
I will skip her speech as it was a bit cringy.
But it was cute seeing how she was making a fool of herself.
But in the end, something unexpected happened.
My dad accepted her proposal right away!
“Sure.
We will get married when you are old enough.” Dad picked her up happily and sat down with her on his lap.
This was something I overlooked.
Dad could just accept her proposal and tell her that they would get married when she grew up.
You should have seen the smile on his face.
He was happily hugging Anu, who was on his lap.
This day would probably become his happiest memory with his daughter.
Seeing his smile made me a bit jealous.
“Who wants that old man?
I have my baby.” Mum said as she picked me up from the basket.
I was in a basket that I got as a gift.
I smiled happily.
“Ooo…
He is smiling.” The boy who was recording everything turned his mobile phone towards me and continued recording.
Everyone laughed happily.
Anu was giggling non-stop.
I love my family.
