“They better be no more surprises.” Genevieve muttered as she turned the Queen’s doorknob.
Waiting five then ten seconds, Genevieve threw open the Queen’s door and rolled to the side.
Scanning for any threats, Genevieve kept her eyes peeled on any and everything in the Queen”s bedroom.
Satisfied that there was no lingering threat, Genevieve walked through the makeshift wardrobe that had been used to cover the secret passage in the Queen’s room.
In the dark hallways of the castle.
Myrah’s P.O.V.
“Grit your teeth.” Myrah muttered as a nasty gash on her leg leaked blood across the wooden floors of the castle.
“I am almost there.” Myrah muttered as she staggered in pain.
“If only the palace knights were a little bit weaker.” Myrah muttered through gritted teeth as the fight between her knights and the soldiers of the North West region and the South East region played through her mind.
“A broken arm, two broken ribs, slash marks on both my arms and my mana is slowly being depleted.” Myrah said with a sigh as the pain made her stop in her tracks for a few minutes.
“But as long as Princess Evelyn gets the cure, it will be all worth it.” Myrah said as she pushed herself to continue walking.
“But I underestimated the palace knights a little too much.” Myrah muttered as she remembered the intense fight she had with a soldier that shook the entire castle.
“I didn’t know some of them were sword masters.” Myrah muttered as the image of a singular place knight came to the forefront of her mind.
“He saw my face.” Myrah said in fear as she held on the wall beside her.
“No!” Myrah said in panic as her breathing quickened.
“No!” Myrah said as panic began to set in.
“I made sure to end him.” Myrah said as she shook her head quickly.
“I double checked, he wasn’t breathing.” Myrah muttered to herself repeatedly.
“No one will know it was me.” Myrah reassured herself for the last time, afraid that she would mess up Princess Evelyn’s plan as she hobbled on, on her unsteady feet.
Princess Evelyn.
“The tea offered by the Queen numbs the mind and steals reason till you’re nothing but a shell that can only move and attack on her command but the antidote to this tea is hidden deep beneath the castle in the Queen’s secret vault right next to the poison.” Genevieve thought as she began her descent to the Queen’s vault.
“On another note, how did the Queen stumble upon this?” Genevieve thought as she walked down the cobbled path of the secret passage.
The castle in the disgrace of the royal family was known as a city of refuge in ancient times.
With many secret underground tunnels and multiple points of entry and exits, the royal castle was a maze that trapped outsiders until the three previous Kings before King Valer satisfied with the era of peace, slowly filled up the secret tunnels.
“The King couldn’t have told her.” Genevieve thought with a hum.
“Not because he did not trust her but because he didn’t deem the secret tunnels as important.” Genevieve thought as she finally arrived at the entrance of the Queen’s vault.
Pushing the door open, Genevieve waited five then ten seconds before finally stepping past the threshold and the view of the Queen’s vault was truly magnificent.
Glowing magic tools with the latest design, potions, plants and fruits that Genevieve didn’t read about it in the disgrace of the royal family and books, lots and lots of books.
“The tea offered by the Queen numbs the mind and steals reason till you’re nothing but a shell that can only move and attack on her command but the antidote to this tea is hidden deep beneath the castle in the Queen’s secret vault right next to the poison.
Red like roses the Whisper peach is beautiful and seductive to anyone who sees it.
Thought it’s flesh is known as poison, the stem of the fruit can cure any illness or mental manipulation.” Genevieve thought as she took the stems of two whisper peaches and tossed the rest of it into the fire.
“To make sure that no one will ever know what my target was.” Genevieve thought as she stared at the contents of the Queen vault.
“I have to turn this room upside down.” Genevieve thought with a devilish smile as she began to knock things to the ground.
The Holy Temple.
“Urgent summons from the King.” a lowly priest said as he barged into the High Priest’s office.
“What insolence-” the High Priest tried to yell but the lowly priest paid him no mind.
“The palace is under attack from foreign forces!” the lowly priest yelled in panic.
“The palace?!” The High Priest asked in confusion as he stood up abruptly.
“The King requests five holy knights to be sent to the castle immediately” the messenger said anxiously and the High Priest nodded quickly before a dangerous thought crossed through his mind.
“Make haste and tell the King that I, my son and the five holy knights he requested will be heading to the castle at top speed.” the High Priest said and the lowly priest nodded before staring at the High Priest in confusion.
“I don’t mean to overstep High Priest,” the lowly priest said hesitantly.
“But why Jacob?” The lowly priest asked referring to the High Priest’s son.
“Jacob hasn’t shown any holy attributes or any extraordinary sword skills despite being eight years of age, sending him to the palace right now could end badly for him.” The lowly priest said worriedly but the High Priest paid him no mind as the High Priest smiled to himself.
“Jason was it?.” The High Priest said referring to the lowly priest and the lowly priest nodded carefully.
“How old is Princess Evelyn?” The High Priest asked with a smirk.
“Six.” The lowly priest said hesitantly and the High Priest nodded in glee.
“Jacob is only eight years of age and young Princess Evelyn is six.” The High Priest said as his smile grew larger and the lowly priest stared at him strangely.
“Then” The High Priest said with as his eyes darkened with greed.
“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the both of them could be friends?” The High Priest asked with a devilish smile and outside the door of the High Priest’s office, a little boy with hair as black as coal and eyes that shone like rubies clenched his fists in anger as he peeked through a crack in the door.
