“Myrah” Genevieve called in Myrah’s mind and Myrah straightened up reflexly.
“I need you to help me with something.” Genevieve said sweetly and Myrah nodded discreetly.
Midnight It was a night like any other in the castle, the night was still, the wind was calm and even the animals were afraid of making a sound.
“Left.” Genevieve thought as she ran through the castle walls.
“Left again.” Genevieve thought and soon enough a scream shattered the quiet night.
“Princess Evelyn has gone missing!” a maid yelled and the whole palace plunged into chaos.
“What is the meaning of this?!” The King yelled as he and the Queen rushed passed Princess Evelyn.
“That was quick.” Genevieve thought as she dodged other people heading to her room.
“You would think the King and Queen actually cared for her.” Genevieve thought as she reached the Queen’s floor of the castle.
Running straight to the door, Genevieve had only put her hand on the knob when her instincts told her to dodge and a giant axe landed next to the Queen’s door handle.
“Reveal yourself.” a tall woman demanded as she looked straight at Princess Evelyn without actually seeing her.
Flashback “I am going to disappear by midnight.” Genevieve said and Myrah began trembling as she served Princess Evelyn snacks.
“Speak freely in your mind.” Genevieve said gently.
” I am communicating to you through telepathy.” Genevieve thought as she sipped her tea.
“Princess you awakened telepathy too.” Myrah said in glee and Genevieve had to hold her head from the sudden loud volume.
“Are you okay, Princess?” Mina asked tentatively while Myrah looked at her apologetically and Genevieve assured them both that she was fine with a nod of her head.
“I am sorry I spoke so loudly.” Myrah said, apologetically before snapping back to the matter at hand.
“What you are about to do is dangerous!” Myrah said, as she stressed the word dangerous.
“The King and Queen won’t pardon you, if you are caught.” Myrah said worriedly.
“That is why I need your help.” Genevieve thought pleadingly and Myrah sighed.
“Can I at least know why you would risk angering the King and Queen?” Myrah asked Genevieve.
“The Queen has been serving me tea to brainwash me.” Genevieve said and Myrah dug her nails into her palms.
“How did you know?” Myrah asked slowly.
“The tea she served me is known as the tea of the whisper peach and I read somewhere a long time ago, that who ever uses the fruit to make tea can brainwash someone with the right spell.” Genevieve said softly and Myrah nodded in understanding.
“The Queen’s vault contains the antidote, so I plan to raid it by midnight.” Genevieve said gently.
“But Princess, how do you plan on getting there?” Myrah asked in concern.
“The scales of the white dragon reflect light and by midnight I am practically invisible.” Genevieve said confidently.
“Once I turn invisible, I will run into the Queen’s room.
All you have to do is create a diversion.” Genevieve said as she stared Myrah in the eyes.
Minutes before the diversion.
“I knew something was wrong.” Myrah muttered as her threads entered through the helmet of an empty knight kept for decoration.
“I knew that my calm and thoughtful princess wouldn’t suddenly run mad.” Myrah said as she matched down the empty hall.
“Overnight Princess Evelyn suddenly started acting strange and I began to worry that her mental health might have taken a turn for the worse but seeing this “family” it makes perfect sense.” Myrah thought as she concentrated on her threads and the legs of the knights rose up in unison.
“Princess Evelyn must have known that the royal family plans to harm her!” Myrah thought in rage as she used huge cloaks to cover the knights that assembled behind her.
“How dare they?” Myrah thought in rage as she sent the knights back to their position and ran up the stairs to Princess Evelyn’s room.
“They ignore her for six years and try to harm her the second they see her.” Myrah thought as she threw open Princess Evelyn’s door.
“Princess Evelyn has gone missing!.” Myrah screamed in tereor and as the palace plunged into chaos, Myrah managed to slip away to a secluded place.
“Marionette magic.” Myrah whispered and a magic circle appeared underneath her.
“Puppet strings.” Myrah whispered and the knights began to move under her command.
Present Genevieve “I am sure that I am nearly invisible at this point in time.” Genevieve thought but as the large woman threw a second axe her way, Genevieve knew that the tall woman was tracking her somehow.
“What could it be?” Genevieve thought as she channeled her strength into dodging before it suddenly clicked.
“Ah” Genevieve thought with a smile.
“It must be my mana” Genevieve thought as she dodged again.
Among the six types of magic in “The disgrace of the Royal family” the only type of magic that can sense another’s mana so accurately are the enhancement type magicians.
“Hmm.” Genevieve thought with a hum as she missed another sharp jab that would have destroyed her ribs.
“Just because you can sense me, doesn’t mean that you can land a blow.” Genevieve thought as she jumped up, grabbed the large woman’s head and slammed it on her knee.
