The moment those words were spoken, there was suddenly a loud ‘bang,’ and a deafening crash rang out as the two heavy wooden doors were abruptly blown into the air. They slammed heavily into the courtyard and shattered into pieces.

Then a sinister, gloomy voice came from outside the courtyard.Full novel: I used the fox spirit to subdue all ghosts. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“You killed me! I want your entire family to pay with their lives!”

Soon, Grandpa and Granny Liu saw Ma Laosan’s wife standing at the doorway. Although they had already been mentally prepared for this, the moment they actually saw her, they still could not help shivering.

At this moment, Ma Laosan’s wife had already begun to show signs of decay. Her entire body had swollen up considerably, and her eyes were deathly white. Four large fangs protruded from her mouth, while her face was twisted into a hideous and terrifying expression.

Sharp, bluish-black fingernails had also grown from both of her hands. Each one was more than ten centimeters long, and every nail looked like a razor-sharp dagger.

How could an ordinary person ever have seen something this bizarre and sinister?

The moment Granny Liu saw the scene, she immediately shouted, “Ma Laosan’s wife! I am Liu Pozi, a disciple of the Horseback Immortal from Sanshilipu. I have come here today specifically to deal with you. The dead cannot be brought back to life. Granny knows that you died unjustly, but humans have the human way, and ghosts have the path of ghosts. If you refuse to repent, then this old woman can only uphold Heaven’s justice and capture you, you evil creature! If you obediently cooperate, Granny has a kind heart and can perform a ritual to help you transcend, allowing you to enter the underworld as soon as possible and be reincarnated.”

“If you want me to leave, then bring that brat Wu Jie out here. I am going to kill him today!” Ma Laosan’s wife snarled viciously before suddenly jumping forward.

With that single leap, she covered a distance of four or five meters. Her legs seemed completely incapable of bending, and when she landed, they struck the ground with a heavy thud.

The way she moved was somewhat like a zombie.

However, zombies had no human thoughts and could only kill people and drink their blood based on instinct.

Granny Liu had said that she was a Corpse Ghost, a perfect embodiment of both a ghostly soul and a zombie. That was why this evil creature could still speak like a human, making her exceptionally sinister.

Grandpa was also frightened when he saw this thing, but he still gripped the large broadsword in his hand and took two steps toward Ma Laosan’s wife.

“If you want my grandson’s life, you’ll have to ask whether the broadsword in my hand agrees first! If you dare touch my grandson, then don’t blame this Old Wu for making sure you die a second time today!”

Before Ma Laosan’s wife could even make a move, something strange happened in our courtyard once again.

Suddenly, rustling sounds came from all directions.

Before long, a huge group of yellow weasels and foxes appeared in the courtyard. Some were perched on the courtyard walls, while others stood on the roof. For a moment, the entire courtyard was filled with countless pairs of eerie, green-glowing eyes.

Among them was an enormous yellow weasel with a streak of white fur running along its back. It climbed over the courtyard wall from outside and, without saying a word, lunged directly at Ma Laosan’s wife.

That yellow weasel with the white fur on its back was the very same one that had appeared earlier when Ma Laosan’s wife was being buried.

At the same time, the yellow weasels and foxes that had appeared throughout the courtyard all rushed toward Ma Laosan’s wife like a swarm of locusts, throwing themselves at her without the slightest fear of death.

“The Yellow Immortal has manifested…” Granny Liu became excited when she saw this scene.

But only a moment later, the expression on Granny Liu’s face changed.

The yellow weasels that had pounced on Ma Laosan’s wife quickly covered her entire body. However, Ma Laosan’s wife possessed tremendous strength. As she swung her arms from side to side, large numbers of yellow weasels were sent flying.

She even grabbed one of the yellow weasels, seized it by both legs, and violently tore it apart down the middle. Then she opened her huge mouth and began devouring it in great gulps.

Blood trickled down from the corners of her mouth.

Even the enormous yellow weasel with the white fur on its back was shoved away by her in a single blow, rolling several times across the ground.

When Grandpa witnessed this scene, he almost vomited.

This was too fucking eerie.

Ma Laosan’s wife, with yellow weasels and foxes still clinging all over her body, continued moving at an astonishing speed. With another leap, she covered five or six meters and quickly closed in on the doorway.

She was only a short distance away from rushing straight into the house. Grandpa let out a furious roar. At this point, he could no longer afford to be afraid. He raised the broadsword in his hand and brought it down hard onto Ma Laosan’s wife’s forehead.

He had thought that this strike would split open her skull and send her brains flying. What left Grandpa completely dumbfounded was that Ma Laosan’s wife’s head was as hard as a rock. The moment the blade struck, it actually bounced back, leaving Grandpa’s hand numb from the impact.

Although he had failed to split open Ma Laosan’s wife’s head, the blow still forced her several steps backward. Ma Laosan’s wife looked at the broadsword in Grandpa’s hand, her nostrils twitching twice. A trace of fear appeared on her face.

But only for an instant.

Ma Laosan’s wife let out an enraged roar and pounced toward Grandpa once again. She opened her mouth and suddenly spat out a stream of black corpse qi, spraying it directly toward him.

Grandpa had no idea what that substance was, but he instinctively dodged to the side.

Beside him, Granny Liu suddenly raised her long-stemmed tobacco pipe. The pipe had been heated until it was glowing red. She took a deep drag, then blew the smoke straight out.

The smoke collided with the stream of corpse qi that Ma Laosan’s wife had spewed out, immediately neutralizing it.

Granny Liu then swung the tobacco pipe violently, striking the Corpse Ghost directly in the chest and knocking it back several more steps.

“Brother Wu, get back inside first! This evil spirit is far too fierce. Release those large roosters we prepared!” Granny Liu shouted loudly while brandishing her tobacco pipe.

Although Grandpa was worried about Granny Liu, he also knew that what she had instructed him to do was important. He hurried back inside to find the large roosters.

At the very moment he turned around, Grandpa suddenly saw something strange happen to Granny Liu.

Her eyes had somehow already turned a ghostly green, gleaming with a cold light that seemed as though it could only belong to some kind of animal.

At that moment, Grandpa understood.

Granny Liu had begun to summon the Immortal.

She had invited her spirit patron to descend into her body.

“The Three Mountains all have their masters, this household has its own divine spirit. Bold evil spirit, the Willow Immortal is here. How dare you continue your insolence?!” Granny Liu’s tone suddenly changed completely.

Her voice sounded much younger, almost as if it were coming from a young woman.

After shouting those words, Granny Liu suddenly seemed like an entirely different person. Even her slightly hunched body appeared to straighten and become more upright.

The tobacco pipe in her hand danced up and down as she repeatedly struck the Corpse Ghost. Every time the pipe struck it, a layer of fiery light would burst from the Corpse Ghost’s body.

By this time, Grandpa had already returned inside and released the several large roosters.

The moment those roosters entered the courtyard, they immediately began crowing loudly.

As soon as it heard the sound, the Corpse Ghost, which had been locked in a fierce struggle with Granny Liu, suddenly shuddered all over. It looked extremely frightening.

It actually turned around and began hopping toward the doorway.

It seemed that it was trying to escape.

And just at that moment, my father suddenly appeared in the doorway.
