When Bu Liuliqing nervously followed Su Cixuan into the Fanyun Pavilion, he saw an overwhelmingly regal and extremely handsome man sitting there, sipping tea and enjoying the view.

He mentioned enjoying the view because the Fanyun Pavilion was an exceptional spot for sightseeing; sometimes Bu Liuliqing would also come here to pass the time and zone out.

“Where on earth have you been hiding all this time?” As soon as Su Cixuan arrived with Bu Liuliqing, the guest spoke up first.Full novel: I’m a Major Villain with a Backer — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Upon catching sight of Bu Liuliqing standing behind Su Cixuan, the guest merely glanced at him indifferently, sparing him no further attention.

Anyone who could appear by Su Cixuan’s side and get within close proximity to him must simply be Su Cixuan’s registered disciple, he figured.

This Su Cixuan was truly an oddity. Well, calling him an oddity was putting it mildly—not a single person had ever truly figured Su Cixuan out.

Ever since their existence and acquaintance began, Su Cixuan hadn’t even taken on a single proper disciple. Yet when it came to the quota for a mere registered disciple, countless individuals of extraordinary talent would break their heads trying to squeeze in, competing fiercely over it.

It really baffled the mind. Given Su Cixuan’s foul temper well, never mind, better not to think about it. Thinking too much about it just brought tears…

However, he had serious business with Su Cixuan this time; otherwise, he wouldn’t have wanted to come to this Wuchen Palace at all. It wasn’t that he looked down on the Wuchen Palace who would dare?

It was simply because this place…

“My affairs are none of your concern.” After Su Cixuan sat down, Bu Liuliqing didn’t wait for anyone to invite him; he quietly and swiftly seated himself right beside Su Cixuan, wedging himself in between Su Cixuan and Longze.

Prompted by Bu Liuliqing planting himself down like that,

Longze who had initially completely ignored him shifted his gaze toward him.

When had anyone by Su Cixuan’s side become so… bold?

And furthermore… what was the meaning of that defensive look the other man was giving him?

Did he take him for some kind of bad guy?

“Su Cixuan, this registered disciple of yours… is quite unique.” Longze spoke up.

“Registered disciple? Who? Old Su, how did I become your registered disciple?” Bu Liuliqing had no idea himself. His focus was forever derailing as he looked at Su Cixuan to voice his confusion.

“Not a registered disciple. This fruit is good; you can eat more of it.” Instead, Su Cixuan picked up a spiritual fruit from the small table meant for entertaining guests and handed it directly to Bu Liuliqing.

Bu Liuliqing didn’t refuse either. Taking it, he immediately began munching away. This scene left Longze who had shared several million years of friendship with Su Cixuan—frozen stiff in his seat on the spot!

A face full of utter astonishment…

Su Cixuan… was that really Su Cixuan? Was he going blind, or…

Compared to Longze’s lack of composure, Su Cixuan was far more placid, pouring himself a cup of tea with elegant and noble movements. His poise and aura were not a whit weaker than Longze’s, and even faintly held a suppressive edge over him.

“How is it?” After setting down his teacup, Su Cixuan even had the leisure to ask Bu Liuliqing.

“Tastes pretty good.” Bu Liuliqing’s reply was utterly honest, and his actions were equally practical as he was already crunching on his second fruit, which he had picked up himself this time.

“You can eat more, but don’t overdo it.” Su Cixuan didn’t say this to restrict Bu Liuliqing, but rather for his own good.

Presently, Bu Liuliqing’s body was in a mortal state. If he consumed spiritual items in excessive amounts, it conversely wouldn’t be doing him any favors.

Because of this, any place in the Wuchen Palace where food and snacks were set out now exclusively featured items that were delicious, wouldn’t cause a violent surge in power, and even if eaten by a mortal would cause no adverse effects, while still extending lifespan and strengthening the body.

“Alright.” Knowing that Old Su was reminding him and caring about him, Bu Liuliqing agreed readily.

Even though he was busy eating fruit, he still kept a constant watch on Longze’s movements. The moment this Dragon Lord made any suspicious or hostile move, he would immediately step forward to shield Old Su.

Anyway, he wasn’t afraid of pain, and Old Su had said he couldn’t die.

Even if he got hurt, he would just plunge into a dormant state to recover.

Bu Liuliqing hadn’t forgotten the hardline rule of this world where the strong ruled. Right now, what Old Su had lost was half his life and half his lifetime cultivation. Although cultivation could slowly recover and grow back, losing half a life was no laughing matter.

“Su Cixuan, aren’t you going to explain?” By now, Longze was dying of curiosity.

He was dying to know what background this man possessed to warrant such extraordinary, preferential treatment from Su Cixuan.

“Are you going to stick your nose into the affairs of the Wuchen Palace as well? Speak… what brings you here looking for me?” He knew very well that this dragon wouldn’t set foot in the Wuchen Palace without a reason.

Because of the unwritten rules of the Wuchen Palace.

Actually, it was just Su Cixuan’s own temperament: he did whatever he pleased and didn’t need to explain himself to anyone.

The Wuchen Palace did not keep guests. Unless you were a member of the Wuchen Palace, once the time came, you had to leave preferably on your own accord and consciously, otherwise you’d be personally escorted and thrown out by the master of the Wuchen Palace himself.

Longze was very self-aware.

That was why he could come every single day and wait every single day.
