“Well now, the rain has cleared up.” Bu Liuliqing looked up at the sky.

The heavy, oppressive dark clouds had already given way to a vast expanse of clear, sunny blue sky.

“Senior, may I ask if the child can remain by my side?” Although Mo Feixi sought Su Chishang’s permission, the way he cradled the little dragon with a posture as if he would fight to the death with anyone who dared make him hand the little dragon over was enough to make onlookers anxious.Full novel: I’m a Major Villain with a Backer — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The child he had accepted him just like that, without a single shred of reluctance.

“Given that he is currently in the Return to Infancy state, where else do you suppose this deity could take him? He is also my godson; seeing him blessed with such a fortuitous opportunity, how could anyone possibly cut it short for him?” Perhaps because Su Chishang still felt a trace of lingering annoyance, the normally cool and aloof Exalted One couldn’t resist throwing a mild rebuff at Mo Feixi.

“It was my own lapse in thought; please forgive me, Senior. Having been separated from the child for so long and now reunited, my mind was inevitably flustered. I know my current state is somewhat abnormal, but I am fully capable of helping the child replenish his vital energy and make up for his congenital defects.” As Mo Feixi spoke, his arms tightened slightly around the little dragon, hoping to make it even more comfortable in his embrace.

His cautious, fiercely protective actions were naturally observed by both Su Chishang and Bu Liuliqing.

Even though Mo Feixi currently seemed to have gaps in his memory, his instincts certainly did not.

One naturally guards one’s own offspring fiercely.

When faced with their own children, a parent’s protective instincts are displayed vividly and thoroughly.

“Take this.” With a flick of Su Chishang’s hand, a crystalline stone materialized in his palm.

“Dragon Crystal…” Mo Feixi actually recognized what this crystal was, gasping in astonishment.

“You haven’t fully recovered yet, and supplementing his defects is no overnight task. To prevent any unforeseen changes halfway through such as you running low on vital energy and finding yourself unable to finish refining this Dragon Crystal will be beneficial to both you and the brat.” With that, Su Chishang handed over such a sacred treasure directly to Mo Feixi.

“Such immense grace from Senior…” Mo Feixi did not affect false modesty or decline; he knew what was best for the child.

“No need for thanks. Once you recover fully, I will ask something of you in return nothing that will have any adverse impact on you yourself,” Su Chishang stated clearly.

“Since Senior puts it that way, I accept.” Mo Feixi was inherently a decisive and resolute person. Whatever warmth he had previously possessed had been given to Lan Musui… Lan Musui? Who is that? Never mind, forget it.

Right now, the child was all that mattered.

Mo Feixi lowered his gaze to look at the adorable little golden dragon sleeping soundly in his arms, the deep doting in his eyes growing more profound. No matter how he looked at it, his child was simply the best a five-clawed golden dragon whose background stood at the absolute pinnacle across all realms.

Once the child’s congenital flaws were fully repaired, what an astonishing, peerless brilliance he would display!

“Mn.” Hearing Mo Feixi’s agreement, Su Chishang felt a bit more at ease.

“Until he has made up for his deficiencies,留情 (Liuliqing) and I will stay here at Azure Firmament Academy,” Su Chishang added, revealing the purpose of their visit.

“With Seniors here, I am all the more at ease.” Mo Feixi didn’t suspect for a second that Su Chishang and Bu Liuliqing were staying behind to keep tabs on him.

A senior who could hand over a Dragon Crystal without hesitation wouldn’t bother resorting to surveillance at least, not the present version of him with his missing memories. Mo Feixi had a premonition that once he fully recovered, things would look entirely different, and he had absolute confidence in himself.

Besides, since the child was already a five-clawed golden dragon, he certainly couldn’t afford to embarrass him. He would grow stronger and stronger even stronger than the version of himself he used to know. Only by doing so could he truly stand as a strong backing for his child.

As for those who had mocked and ridiculed the child in the past, he would settle the score on the child’s behalf.

“Non-xi…” Lan Musui’s voice drifted over from a distance, laden with worry and concern. Catching sight of Mo Feixi’s figure, his eyes lit up as he hurried over in quick strides.

However, Mo Feixi was currently holding the little dragon and conversing with Su Chishang.

He paid absolutely no attention to Lan Musui’s call. Aside from keeping a sliver of his attention on the conversation with Su Chishang, the rest of his focus rested entirely upon the little dragon in his arms.

Before Lan Musui could even draw close, Mo Feixi turned with Su Chishang and walked toward the headmaster of Azure Firmament Academy, who had been acting as background scenery off to the side. To Lan Musui’s increasingly urgent calls growing closer by the second, Mo Feixi truly turned a deaf ear, even managing to completely look right past him.

Meanwhile, Bu Liuliqing watched Lan Musui rapidly approaching, a look of amused spectatorship on his face as he tugged lightly at the sleeve of Su Chishang, who was walking ahead.

Su Chishang came to a halt, turning back to look at Bu Liuliqing without a word, though Bu Liuliqing could clearly read the patience and unspoken question in his eyes: Why are you holding me back from leaving?

“Wait, look at that person.” Bu Liuliqing figured the ensuing scene promised to be quite entertaining.

Of course, Bu Liuliqing wasn’t stopping Su Chishang just to watch a good show.

Rather, he felt that since Mo Feixi had already recognized his own cub, Lan Musui’s continued presence posed a major problem. Some things needed to be addressed and laid out clearly when it’s time to make a clean break, cut it off decisively.

Between grown men, who couldn’t go on living just because they parted ways with someone else?

A straightforward man’s philosophy was always that crisp, clean, and direct.
