These people were actually very lucky.

The zombies in the surrounding area had been cleared by her in waves, and the ones inside the supermarket had been wiped out too. All the other entrances were sealed.

Right now, the supermarket was completely safe.Full novel: In the Apocalypse, While Others Slash Zombies, I Feast on Gourmet Food in My RV — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

On top of that, there was no shortage of food inside. All they had to do was stay put quietly until the rescue teams found them and brought them to a base.

They could have survived easily just by lying low, no need to risk their lives fighting zombies.

Such a good way out, yet they insisted on throwing themselves in front of her to seek death.

Meng Shiwan’s gaze shifted to the remaining men.

The few of them trembled in fear and immediately turned and ran deeper into the supermarket.

They did want the RV, but they wanted their lives more.

There was a large truck nearby too. The conditions might be worse, but at least they wouldn’t have to risk their lives against this ruthless woman.

She looked so delicate and harmless, how could she be so ruthless?

She was practically a walking Yama. After they ran off, Meng Shiwan opened the RV door, brought the two carts into the aisle, and closed it again.

Taxue jumped into her arms pitifully, rubbing its head against her.

Meng Shiwan held it and tore open a sealed bag, pulling a large leg from a roast chicken and setting it in Taxue’s little bowl.

“Eat. As long as I’m here, no one can hurt you.”

Scenting the food, Taxue jumped onto the cabinet and ate in small bites.

Meng Shiwan opened the fridge’s chilled compartment and moved the fruits and vegetables inside into the expanded space.

Then she transferred the contents of the carts into the chilled compartment, and used her mind to move them again into the expanded space.

Working in tandem like this, she filled it very quickly.

After putting away the contents of two carts, Meng Shiwan realized she’d filled only about one corner of a single cubic meter.

A cubic meter was far more than she’d imagined.

A typical supermarket cart held less than 150 liters.

It would take five or six fully packed carts to fill one cubic meter.

Meng Shiwan felt running back and forth was too slow. She opened the door, set the carts outside, and glanced at a manual forklift used for unloading in the passage.

Put a wooden board on the forklift, and it could carry a huge amount of supplies.

As she got off the RV, she felt her clothes being tugged.

She turned to see Taxue standing on the cabinet, biting the hem of her clothes and refusing to let her leave.

Meng Shiwan smiled. “I’m going to gather supplies. Only this way can we live better in the future.”

Taxue still held on tight, refusing to let go.

“You want to come with me?”

Taxue blinked its big eyes, then released its bite and jumped onto her shoulder, sitting firmly.

Meng Shiwan laughed. “You little clever thing.”

She took Taxue along, found several plastic turnover crates in the passage, stacked them onto the forklift’s wooden platform, and returned to the supermarket.

People hiding inside peeked out when they saw her, then quickly pulled their heads back.

Clearly, news of her killing had already spread among the survivors.

Meng Shiwan paid them no mind and kept stocking up.

She went back to the prepared-foods section. All kinds of meats and marinated dishes were packed up, and even cold dishes and pickled foods were taken.

She hadn’t eaten proper food in years, so now she craved strong, bold flavors.

At the neighboring stalls, she also packed up fried dough sticks, pancakes, stuffed flatbreads, sushi, rice dumplings, and more.

She removed the sushi boxes and poured everything into sealed bags.

Presentation didn’t matter, saving space did. The more she could pack, the better.

Taxue squatted obediently in a crate on the forklift, not running around at all.

After finishing these, she went to the seasoning section. As she passed the dessert area, Meng Shiwan suddenly stopped, her expression conflicted.

Reason told her she should stock up on rice, flour, grains, oil, and meat.

But three years of apocalyptic suffering told her otherwise, if there was a chance, she should eat something good.

Soon these cakes would spoil, and she wouldn’t get anything this fresh again.

In the end, taste won over reason. She decisively turned the corner and started packing desserts.

Beautiful, delicate cakes and pastries were tempting just to look at.

She moved them all onto the forklift, take them all.

After the cakes, she packed cookies and candies too. Once she’d swept the dessert section, she pushed the forklift back to the RV.

Beside the guard’s corpse, two zombies had appeared and were greedily devouring his organs.

They’d likely been drawn by the smell of blood.

Hearing movement, the zombies lifted their heads, opened their bloodied mouths, and lunged at Meng Shiwan.

Meng Shiwan grabbed the trowel from the crate and cleanly split both zombies’ heads, finishing them decisively.

Three to five zombies were no threat to her at all.

Killing zombies was already engraved into her bones.

She moved the crates from the forklift into the RV corridor, closed the door, and went on stuffing items into the fridge.

“If only I had a spatial ability,” she muttered. “Then I could store everything directly in the space, instead of moving it into the RV and then opening the fridge just to transfer it into the expanded space.”

She only sighed briefly.

Compared to her previous life, she was already very fortunate.

Once she filled the entire storage space, she’d have enough food for several years, no longer living in constant fear of starving.

All the prepared foods were stuffed in, filling one cubic meter.

Next came the desserts. The cake boxes took up too much space, so Meng Shiwan removed the packaging and put only the cakes into the fridge.

Then she used her mind to arrange them neatly inside the space so the cakes stayed intact.

Where there were gaps between the cakes, she stuffed in small cookies and candies, making sure every inch was used.

After filling one cubic meter, some small cookies and candies were left over.

Meng Shiwan set them on the edge of the stairs to eat slowly later.

She summoned the RV’s internal projection interface and used the core she’d just found in the supermarket to upgrade the second-floor space.

She gained another cubic meter of storage.

After that, it became a constant back-and-forth between the supermarket and the RV.

Moving, moving, moving.

Stockpiling, stockpiling, stockpiling.

Taxue followed her, unable to help much, serving mainly as company.

The survivors inside noticed she moved through the store freely without danger, and no more zombies wandered about. Gradually, they all ran out to look for food.

They ate while wandering around her, but none dared get close.

They were afraid she might casually swing her trowel and take off their heads.

“She’s been at it for hours. Why isn’t she done? Can the RV even hold all that?”

“She cleared out the prepared foods, desserts, grains, seasonings, fresh produce, and seafood. I’m guessing the RV is packed to the brim, there might not even be room to stand inside.”

“What’s she stocking up so much food for? What if it spoils? Is she planning to transport it somewhere?”

“I checked online earlier. Zombies have broken out nationwide, nowhere is safe. This ruthless person already cleared the supermarket for us. As long as we hold the door and hide here, it’s relatively safe.”

The man who’d earlier targeted Meng Shiwan still lay outside, his corpse exposed.

Combined with what they knew of the outside situation, even with a car, there was nowhere safe to go.

Throughout Meng Shiwan’s constant moving and stocking, no one dared provoke her again. After all, her RV was only so big, she couldn’t possibly empty the entire supermarket.

By the time she finished, it was already midnight.

Looking at the fully stocked RV, she felt a rare sense of stability and satisfaction in her heart.
