The multiversal transporter pad dissolved into a shower of shimmering golden embers as Arthur materialized upon the precipice of Plot 404: The Ashen Reach.

If the glittering white-quartz promenades of the Astral Nexus Hall represented the pinnacle of multiversal civilization, the Ashen Reach was the raw, unyielding wound at the edge of creation.

There were no floating crystal citadels here, no rivers of starlight, and no gentle breezes. Instead, a vast, jagged canyon stretched out beneath a perpetual shroud of heavy, swirling grey mists and dormant stellar scars. The ground beneath his boots was composed of hardened, metallic ash and cold, dead basalt that cracked under the slightest pressure. A suffocating thermal pressure hung thick in the air, carrying a low, droning hum that pressed against the temples like an invisible weight.Full novel: Infinite Universe Lord: Awakening Beyond the Cosmos — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Warning: High ambient vacuum-pressure detected," a crisp, automated chime echoed inside Arthur’s mind. "Soil toxicity at 94%. Zero agricultural viability. Core stabilization required immediately."

Arthur stood perfectly still, letting his gaze sweep across the desolate expanse. From a distance, atop a floating observation crag overlooking the canyon, several robed scouts and scrying crystals belonging to rival ascendant lords—likely agents of Lord Kaelen—were undoubtedly watching to witness his immediate failure.

"They expect a wasteland to stay a wasteland," Arthur murmured softly to himself.

He didn’t panic, nor did he rush. He unzipped his leather shoulder bag, pulled out his sturdy wooden walking stick, and drove its base firmly into the hardened metallic ash of the canyon floor.

HMMMM—!

The moment the walking stick made contact with the dead soil, a deep, resonant pulse rippled outward from the tip. It wasn’t a destructive shockwave, but a pure, heartbeat-like rhythm of empyrean life force.

Arthur reached into his inner pocket and retrieved the Starlight Domain Core Shard—a glowing, palm-sized sphere of concentrated starlight infused with the memories, laughter, and unyielding unity of his home in the Whispering Basin.

"Let’s show the higher planes what real soil looks like," Arthur whispered.

He pressed the core shard directly into a fissure in the metallic ash at the base of his walking stick.

Miles away, perched upon an elevated crystal balcony overlooking the First Realm, Lord Kaelen of the Zenith Spire held a high-tier scrying glass to his eye, a cruel, mocking smirk plastered across his aristocratic face.

"Look at him," Kaelen chuckled softly to the surrounding attendants. "The foolish peasant actually claimed Plot 404. Within ten minutes, the thermal pressure of the Ashen Reach will cause his domain core to fracture, and he’ll be expelled from the Astral Reach in total disgrace."

"Indeed, my lord," an sycophantic retainer bowed. "No one has ever successfully cultivated life in the Ashen Reach. The soil rejects all higher-universe nutrients."

Just as the retainer finished speaking, Kaelen lowered his scrying glass in sudden, utter disbelief.

FWOOSH—!

Across the sprawling expanse of Plot 404, a blinding wave of golden-blue starlight erupted from the dead basalt floor. It didn’t flash and die out like a dying ember; it surged outward with terrifying, beautiful velocity, transforming the grey mists into a brilliant canopy of sapphire and gold.

The metallic ash didn’t resist the light; it dissolved into rich, fertile black soil under the sheer weight of the Starlight Domain’s empyrean resonance.

"What... what is that?!" Kaelen gasped, dropping his scrying glass. The lens shattered against the crystal floor as he stared in horror toward the distant canyon. "How is a fledgling domain core generating enough vitality to override a stellar scar?!"

Back in the canyon, Arthur stood amid a swirling vortex of golden-blue light.

The heavy, suffocating pressure of the Ashen Reach melted away, replaced by a crisp, invigorating breeze that carried the scent of blooming star-flowers and rich earth. Right before his eyes, the jagged grey cliffs began to soften, green terraces sprouted along the canyon walls like living staircases, and a crystal-clear stream of empyrean spring water carved a sparkling path through the center of the valley.

Ting!

A triumphant musical chime rang out inside Arthur’s mind:

"Reclamation milestone reached! Plot 404 successfully stabilized. Terrain transformed from stellar wasteland to Tier-3 Star-Valley. Unlocked higher-plane agricultural zoning, spatial irrigation networks, and earned 3,000 multiversal experience points!"

Arthur let out a quiet breath of relief, leaning slightly on his walking stick as he surveyed the breathtaking transformation. What was once a dead, toxic canyon was now a lush, vibrant sanctuary floating at the edge of the First Realm.

Suddenly, a shimmering dimensional ripple opened near the edge of the newly formed stream.

The silver-starlight threshold parted, and stepping out onto the rich black soil came Lily, followed closely by Chloe carrying her holographic ledgers, Sarah and Anna carrying agricultural toolkits, and little Mia holding the star-fox guardian in her arms. Elena and the rest of the sisters stepped through right behind them, their eyes wide with awe as they looked out over the transformed canyon.

"By the stars..." Lily breathed softly, her dark eyes shining with wonder as she took in the sparkling streams and the towering, glowing terraces. "Arthur... you turned a dead wasteland into a paradise."

"I didn’t do it alone," Arthur smiled, walking over to meet them. "I just brought the spark. The domain grows because we’re all connected to it."

Little Mia broke away from the group, laughing happily as she ran across the soft grass, the star-fox bounding around her heels and chasing glowing butterflies that had spontaneously manifested from the empyrean soil.

"Incredible," Chloe murmured, adjusting her star-glass spectacles as her holographic ledger rapidly mapped out the surrounding terrain. "The spatial density here is completely stable, and the nutrient absorption rate of this soil is three hundred percent higher than our plot in the Whispering Basin! We can cultivate higher-plane flora here that was previously impossible to grow!"

"Which means," Anna added, rolling up her sleeves with an enthusiastic grin, "we can set up our first multiversal agricultural station right here in the canyon before sunset!"

"Let’s get to work, then," Arthur said, his voice warm and resolute.

For the rest of the afternoon, the family immersed themselves in the joyful labor of building their new outpost. Sarah and Anna planted the first rows of multiversal star-wheat along the newly terraced hillsides, while Chloe and Lily mapped out the defensive rune perimeters and trade-portal anchors.

High above the canyon, hidden behind a cloud concealment veil, Lord Kaelen watched through a backup scrying orb, his fists clenched so tightly his fingers bled.

"He didn’t just survive the Ashen Reach... he conquered it," Kaelen muttered, his voice trembling with humiliated fury. "He’s building a multiversal base right under our noses. Summon the Zenith Enforcers. If the council’s rules protect him in the Nexus Hall, they won’t protect him out here in the First Realm wilderness."

Down in the newly christened Star-Valley, Arthur paused from his work, looking up toward the distant upper crags where the faint glimmer of hostile scrying magic faded away into the mist.

He didn’t feel worried. He simply adjusted the strap of his leather shoulder bag, rested his hand on his sturdy wooden walking stick, and smiled. Let Kaelen send his enforcers. The Starlight Domain was no longer just a struggling territory in a backwater sector—it was an ascending multiversal empire, and its roots were anchored deep in unbreakable soil.
