” Why is she taking us to a bridge?” Mia asked as they flew through the air.
” I think that’s supposed to be the HQ?”
” A bridge?” Mia said, sounding skeptical.
‘ What kind of hideout could be inside a bridge?’ she thought to herself.
As Eve flew closer, she eventually reached the top of bridge.
Before standing on it.
” So what now–” Mia said, but mid sentence the surface beneath them began lowering to reveal the entrance, taking them down with it.
” This place is a lot bigger than I thought.” Kevin said the moment they reached the ground floor, he couldn’t help taking a look around.
Mia was surprised as well, although she tried her best not to show it.
” Welcome to Teen Teams HQ.” Eve said with a smile.
” Uhh…
Who are these two?” A voice said.
Rex who was standing by the command terminals along with Robot said.
Kate was by the ping pong table playing against herself, or she was before the three of them arrived.
” I don’t recall us scheduling a meeting with guests.” Robot said.
” Are they trespassing perhaps?”
” No they aren’t Robot.” Eve chuckled a bit.” They’re just some friends of mine I brought over.”
” So you brought a bunch of nobodies into our HQ?
For what?
Some kind of tour?”
” Nobody?” Mia frowned at his remark.
” Don’t mind Rex, he’s just usually rude.” Eve waved her hand dismissively.
” You guys know about the hero that’s been making the news lately.” Eve said gesturing towards Kevin, only to notice he wasn’t were he was anymore.
” This stuff looks impressive, did you build all this own your own.” Kevin who she didn’t know how he got with in the command center asked Robot with shimmering eyes.
” I guess you could say that.”
” Robot here built the entire HQ on his own, he’s the one who brought the team together in the first place.” Eve flew over to their side and said.
” I must say, you really are more incredible in person.
And your suit, are those magnetic interlocks.” Kevin asked.
” I’m surprised you were able to tell, yes, indeed they are.”
” Hey hey hey, don’t tell me you’re ok with this robot.” Rex intervened, stepping in-between Kevin and Robot.
” Eve, who exactly is this guy anyway.”
” Well like I was trying to say earlier.
He’s the shape shifting hero who’s been gaining a lot of traction lately.”
” What?
For real?” Kate and clone said simultaneously, clearly surprised.
” You’re kidding.” Rex on the other hand, sounded doubtful.
“Seriously?
This guy?
He looks like he still asks permission to stay up past ten.”He stared flat at Kevin who simply smiled back at him.
” If it’s ok with you, mind if we spared a little.” Kate suggested.
” Just how many monsters can you turn into.”
” Actually, he turns into aliens, not monsters.” Kevin was about to say something but Eve spoke up before him.
” Wow…
so cool.” Rex said sarcastically.
” Since everyone’s so chummy, why not just let him join the team as well.”
” What?
Really?.” Kevin said.
” Can I?” He turned towards Robot and asked.
” Well first we might need to do a background check and evaluate your abilities and intentions before discussing membership.”
” Although you’re heroic feets online show that you at least have promise.” Robot said, causing Kevin’s eyes to shimmer.
Mia who silently watched them talking with one another couldn’t help looking a bit uncomfortable.
” You know what, I don’t even care.
I get that he’s some kind of a hero, but who’s the gothzilla?” Rex said, turning towards Mia who was silent till now.
” I was just leaving.” Mia said before anyone could speak.
” What? This chapter is updated first at g.com.
Why?” Kevin’s smile faltered as he turned towards her.
” Just realised I have something to do back at home.”
” Oh, then should I drop you off.” He suggested.
” No, I think I can manage just fine on my own.” She refused.
” See…” Mia said as she suddenly began floating up into the air.
Eve couldn’t help looking suprised since she didn’t know Mia could also fly.
What she didn’t know was that Mia had secretly practiced within the sphere on their way here.
Kevin on the other hand looked worried because only he had seen her practice.
” I’m perfectly fine on myyyy” her voice rushed out when she lost her balance and smacked into a metal wall, before falling back down.
” Mia!” Kevin hurriedly rushed to her.
” Well that wasn’t embarrassing at all–” Rex said.
” Oww~” he winced when Eve punched his arm, gesturing for him to keep quiet with her eyes.
” Are you ok?–” he offered her a hand but she got up on her own without taking it.
” See, I’m perfectly fine.” She said, an awkward look on her face.

She pushed off her feet and flew up with sudden speed.

Before the entrance could properly open, she ended up smashing through it.
Kevin quietly stepped aside as pieces of the door came falling next to him.
” Did she just smash our door…” Rex said yet the silence of the base was the only reply he got.
” I’ll pay for the door.” Kevin said before dialing the Omnitrix.
” I’m sorry but I think I need to go after her.” Kevin said before pressing down.
A green flash was seen before it vanished, revealing a figure covered in flames.
Heat Blast.
” Wow…
So that’s how he does it.” Kate couldn’t help but comment.
” Fascinating…” Robot said.
” Pssh…
I’ve seen better.” Rex scoffed yet inwardly, even he was a bit impressed.
Kevin shot out a jet of fire below him as make shift thrusters, before flying out of their HQ, in order to catch up to Mia.
After surfacing from the entrance, he flew high into the sky, glancing left and right.
‘ Did she go too far already?’ He lamented at his short coming.
But luckily for him, he managed to see someone near the canal below the bridge.
Kevin quickly flew down.

” Just great, now I’m soaking wet, Damnit!” Mia cursed, slamming a fist on the shore in anger, her fist creating a crater beneath.
” How am I supposed to get into a cab like this.” She grumbled, staring at her wet clothes.
The feeling of her clothes sticking against her body no doubt felt uncomfortable, and it was safe to say she had no intentions of flying the rest of the way back home.
” So here’s where you were.” Mia turned suprised when she heard a voice behind her.

What are you doing here.” She was taken aback by the flaming man Infront of her but on seeing the familiar logo of the Omnitrix, she was able to tell who it was.
” What do you think?
I came after you off course.” Kevin said as he walked towards her.
” Why did you leave anyway.”
Mia paused for a moment before saying.
” Didn’t you hear me, I said–”
” You said you had something to do at home, which we both know is a lie.
You told me before that you were free for the rest of the day.”
Being cut red handed, Mia didn’t know what else to say.
Kevin let out some smoke.

” It’s not because of him, that peebrain couldn’t get on my nerves even if he tried.” Mia scoffed.
Kevin said nothing, Instead the flames on his body rose, growing several times hotter.
” H-Hey!
What do you think you’re doing?!” Mia gasped, questioning him but he didn’t reply.
Just as quickly as his flames rise did they gradually return to normal.
” Sorry about that, just thought it was uncomfortable standing there all wet.”
” Might’ve lost control for a sec there though.”
” Huh?” Mia said, only then did she realise that her clothes weren’t wet anymore.
” It’s ok if you don’t want to tell me, but at least promise me you’ll tell me before doing something risky like that, you aren’t a bird you know, if not because of–”
” I left because I figured you didn’t want me around anymore.” Mia blurted out.
” You’re super– wait what?” Kevin paused mid sentence.
” What the heck are you talking about, why wouldn’t I want you around?”
” I mean you got so chummy with them, they all had amazing powers like you too.” Mia said, even she knew Teen Team.
” But you have powers too.”
” Yeah, but I can’t control them can I.” She said.
” If any real danger were to come up right now, I’d only end up getting in your way.”
” I mean I almost caused a disaster this afternoon alone with that cyclone, what if people were around that time, what if someone actually got hurt because of me.”
” Which is why I offered to help.” Kevin said.
” Just because you can’t control your powers now, doesn’t mean you won’t ever be able to.”
” I mean, the first time I used my powers, I wasn’t exactly myself.” Kevin said, sounding a bit emotional.
” While I did save everyone, someone ended up dying in the end.”
” You can’t blame yourself for that, plus he was the bad guy.” Mia said.
” Bad guy or not, he was still human.” Kevin said, the flames on his body heating up for a moment.
” I know it wasn’t my fault but because I wasn’t more experienced, it did happen.” He said before pausing.
” Look, I’m not saying accidents won’t happen, that comes with being a hero.
There’s no such thing as a perfect person, everyone has one flaw or the order.”
” It’s how you deal with that flaw that matters.”
” I promised I’d help you through this, and that’s what I’m going to do.
I’m not about to forget you just because I made some new friends, after all, we made a promise together didn’t we?”

Kevin turned back, but unlike before, a smile was etched on his face.
” So are you still going to honour that promise–?” Kevin said, only to stiffen when she suddenly hugged him.
” Umm…

I guess that’s one way to agree on it.”
” Ouch~” he winced when she pinched him out of the blue.
” Looking at you giving such a heart felt speech to a highschool girl.
You know I’m still 17 right?
You sure you wanna take that risk?”
” H-Hey!
That’s not what I meant and you know it.” Kevin suddenly blurted out, afraid she misunderstood.
Mia couldn’t help giggling at his nervous reaction.
” So how exactly do we get back from here, your watch just ran out of juice didn’t it?”
” I was thinking we’d call a cab.” Kevin took out his phone.
” Still as resourceful as ever aren’t you, aren’t you worried one of these days you’ll run out of money.”
‘ If only that were possible.’ Kevin said to himself, ‘ Thanks to grey matter, I think I’ve unintentionally gained another name for myself online.’ he joked.
” If I don’t pay, will you?” Kevin said.
” Of course not, hurry up and call one already.” She said.
Kevin let out a helpless sigh before using his phone.
After calling the Uber, the both of them began walking away from the shore while talking to one another, this time around, Mia didn’t feel uncomfortable whatsoever, but secretly happy.
