” Huah..Huahh..” Kevin placed a hand against his chest while using the other to support himself against the alley wall as he struggled to catch his breath.

Recalling what he’d just experienced, he felt even more shaken up, especially when he remembered the sound of those fired bullets whizzing past his body back then.
If one of them had connected, he wasn’t sure he’d still be here standing, and yet, back then.
Back then, Kevin felt completely energised as Wild Mutt, the blood pumping through his veins at the time completely overrode his fear, making him feel fearless throughout the whole endeavour.
But now that he was back to normal, thinking about what happened, beeds of sweat fell down his forehead because he’d just risked his life back there.
‘ Well I’m glad that’s over.’ He said while calming his breath.
He gradually made his way out of the alley from the other end, looking a bit shaken up.
Not wanting to spend anymore time out, he hailed a cab which dropped him back at the hotel.
Until Paul arrived with the paperwork, he’d be spending his remaining time here.
Kevin went up to his room, he closed the door behind him before walking towards the bed and laying down to rest.
Without him realising it, he soon dozed off.

Reginald Vel Johnson High School…
Lunch break had just rang and the students were all out and about.
Within the hallway, one student was looking through her locker.
She had dark bags beneath her eyes, long black hair, though she gave off an emo vibe.
Once she was done, she closed it, picked up her back and slung it over her shoulder.
” Mia, wait up!” Someone called her from behind.
” Oh, hey William.” She replied.
” I’ve been looking everywhere for you, Why’d you leave so quickly after class.”
” Just thought I’d head out early and find a quiet spot to eat lunch.” She said calmly as if it wasn’t a big deal.
” So what’s up?
Need anything.” She added.
” You make it sound like I only come looking for you when I need something.” William grumbled.
” Isn’t that the truth though.” She said with a smirk.
” Why you.” William raised his hand and tickled her.
” Hey cut that out.” Mia laughed a bit, telling him to stop, which he did, but only after a bit of enjoying himself.
” Oh yeah, there’s this viral video that’s been going around through class today, something about some wild monster hero in the city.” William reached into his pocket to get his phone.
” A what?” Mia raised a brow, her interest piqued.
” Let me show you.” William turned on his phone before going online, finding the video, and playing it for her.

“AAAGGGHH!!!”
” Wow…” Both William and Mia winced seeing the robber try to run after the strange monster roared, only to be smacked in the face with a keyboard by a bank clerk.
” That’s gotta hurt…” Mia shook her head.
” Yep, but at least he didn’t get done in by the monster, that surely would’ve left him too traumatized in jail to come out.” William laughed a bit just thinking about it.
” Where’d this footage come from anyway?” She asked.
” Oh, one of the hostages actually managed to get it on screen, can’t believe there’s a new hero in town, kinda makes you wish you had super powers too right.” William said while chuckling.
” Yeah…
Superpowers…” Mia mumbled, an uncomfortable look flashing past her eyes for a moment as she stared at the beast of a hero, saving the hostages in the bank.
” Looky what we have here, if it isn’t the gay dweeb and the emo Grayson.” A voice said from behind the two.
Mia massaged her temple while William groaned in frustration.
” What is it now, Todd?” William turned around to face Todd.
” H-Hey!” William chocked when Todd dragged him by the collar with one arm.
” Getting gutsy are we now Clockwell?” Todd said, raising his clenched fist.
” Hey, let him go.” Mia spoke up.
” Oh would you look at that, The goths trying to buy in.” Todd teased.
” You better stay out of this Grayson if you know what’s good for you.”
” William here still owes me something.” Todd shifted his focus back to William.
” I don’t owe you anything you jerk!
I told you, I’m not going to do it, go talk to her yourself if you’re that desperate!”
” You little!” Todd gnashed his teeth, winding his fist for a punch.
” Let him go now Todd…
Unless you want me to go to the principals office and tell him you’ve been sexually assaulting a certain girl again.” Mia said, whispering the latter part of her sentence so only the three of them could hear, and not the other students watching right now.
“Urk!” Todd gritted his teeth in anger before shoving William off his hand.
” This isn’t over Clockwell!” Todd said as he stormed off.
” Woo…
Thanks for that.” William let out a sigh of relief once he was truly gone.
” Don’t mention it, come to think of it, what did he mean by you owed him anyway?” Mia asked, curious.
” The dumb jerk for some reason believes because I’m gay, that I’m somehow close to every girl in school, he’s been trying to get me to set him up with Amber for awhile now.”
” Amber Bennett?” Mia raised a brow, surprised.
He didn’t understand what the guy could be looking for in her, Amber was more of the hardworking, social, kind, humanitarian type and he…
Well he was just Todd.
‘ Probably because she’s just pretty…’ Mia came the conclusion, quickly loosing interest.
” Yep.” William replied before dusting himself off.
” Hey, were you going.” William said when he saw her walking away.
” Lunch breaks is going to be over soon, I’m going to eat, obviously.” Mia said.
” Well then wait for me will ya.” William said as he hurried to catch up.
