-Rose Fannett-

‘They aren’t back yet.’ Rose thought, fists closed against the counter as she went through the motions of exchanging a group of adventurers’ magic stones. ‘Those idiots…’

A sense of impotence settled inside her chest. What was she even thinking when enabling those two last night?Full novel: Is it Wrong to ”Tame” Monsters in a Dungeon? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Was she really that tired and done with her shift that she decided, ‘Oh, let’s give money to the people who went inside the dungeon without a falna. And make sure they pinky promise to come back the next day!’

She was a fucking idiot; that’s what she was!

As she saw the sun setting from her place managing the front, Rose clicked her tongue. The last batch of Adventurers of the day were already laughing and celebrating their earnings while they spoke of how they’ll spend it on either a big meal or a lady of the night from the Red Light District.

Rose was forced to close up the booth as the sky went from orange to purple to dark, all the while she cursed herself internally.

‘Never again.’ That’s what she kept repeating to herself while walking towards the back. Some of her coworkers glanced at her with either worry or suspicion. ‘I should resign anyway. It was much better to let those two starve for a day than to… to watch their bodies being brought back sometime tomorrow.’

And of course, she’ll have to identify them. She was one of the only guild members who had spoken to the pair, and at least one of her coworkers knew—

‘’Sir, I already told you, Ms. Rose does not take adventurers anymore…’’ The strained voice of Eina reached Rose’s twitching red ears, making her frown. ‘’I understand that, as new members of a small Familia like Lady Hestia’s, you’ll want an experienced Advisor, but these are the norms.’’

‘The Hestia Familia?’ The name of the Goddess brought recognition to her face. Even if her Familia were a new one, it would be hard for someone not to recognize the Goddess of the Hearth. ‘Hm… Wasn’t that the one with the idealistic bunny-hume that Eina kept rocking up a fuss about? Good for her. Going solo down there is asking to get killed.’

Yet, just as Rose was about to turn in for the night, already having ditched the nametag attached to her chest—an act that, in her suppressed anger, almost tore part of her uniform—she froze as a familiar tone and nonsensical words reached her ears.

‘’That’s cool and all, but like, I didn’t ask?’’ The clearly male voice had a fake, snobbish tone, and even without looking, Rose could tell that Eina was quite done with these people. ‘’Midna, have you found who asked yet?’’

‘’Not gonna’ lie, hoomie.’’ A higher-pitched voice replied with a half-bored, half-amused tone. ‘’The joke wasn’t funny the first time. What made you think it would be the second time?’’

‘’Tough crowd.’’ The man scoffed.

‘’Um… Mr. Raynolds—‘’ Eina tried, but was immediately interrupted.

‘’Nah, I wasn’t done talking. You don’t expect me to go on a whole ass side-quest and then reward me with some NPC-looking advisor, right?’’ ‘Raynolds’ said. The sound of cloth rubbing together made Rose think he had crossed his arms. ‘’No offense, you’re cute, but in a… free login reward kind of way? Please bring me the red-headed wolf baddie—Oh, speak of the devil!’’

Rose blinked as she came face-to-face with the brown-haired man. His hair was still a mess, or even messier than last night, and his mirthful eyes stared at her as if he had found his newest form of entertainment.

Right at his side, peeking above the counter with one red eye—and a tall, stone mask with runic symbols—was his companion. The strange Pallum girl who shared most of the males’ sense of humor. Even if she couldn’t see her lower face, Rose was certain it held a smartass, lazy smirk.

‘When did I…’ Rose’s fists clenched as she stepped forward, not knowing why she came to the front. ‘The reassurance that these two were alive should have been enough, but… ‘

‘’Ah, Rose!’’ Eina turned to her. The brown-haired elf had a clearly visible forehead vein on her face, and her usual smile was tight as a knot. If her eyes weren’t so impossibly lidded to the point Rose couldn’t see the iris, she would have bet they were filled with frustration directed at the man in front of her. ‘’I was just getting these two sorted out for the night. You don’t need to, you know…‘’

‘’I got it, Eina.’’ Rose replied with a gruff, tired tone, and she did not acknowledge the relief in it either as she waved the younger half-elf off and stared pointedly at the two ‘adventurers’. ‘’Could you two stop coming at closing hours? If that develops into a habit, I’m punching both of you through a door.’’

‘’Kinky,’’ Roy replied, his grin ever widening.

‘’You and what army?’’ Asked the Pallum, tilting her head in genuine curiosity. ‘’If you had given us just five more minutes. We were about to turn that knife-eared gal into a generational crashout, kukuku~!’’

The annoyance settling in Rose’s chest felt almost… comforting, for some reason. ‘’I could hear your loud, annoying voices through the walls. Now, if you are here, that means there’s some brain in those thick skulls. Let me see ‘em.’’

That was a poor choice of words, because Roy’s grin got twice as wide, and Midna just snorted.

‘’You know, that sort of thing is kind of reserved for the third date at the least—‘’

‘’The fucking—Ugh!’’ Rose’s teeth clacked together. Her tightened fists were seconds from turning the infuriating man’s windpipe into powder. ‘’Your Adventurer status, you idiot. Don’t tell me your Goddess didn’t tell you about that?’’

‘’Oh, that.’’ Roy’s lips pursed. ‘’That’s much less fun than what I had in mind.’’

‘’Wall.’’ She hissed, lips involuntarily rising into a scowl that showed her fangs.

‘’Sheesh, alright. Who pissed on your tennis ball, lady?’’ She didn’t know what a ‘tennis’ was, but the dog joke wasn’t lost on her as the desk below her fingers creaked. ‘’Here you go. Newest members of the Hestia Familia, reporting to hopefully not pay any taxes.’’

As Rose was handled the adventurer’s respective statuses, she quickly looked them over, first verifying the Deity’s signature to validate its validity.

Then, her eyes strayed to the status itself, to see what she was working with. It didn’t surprise her at all when she noticed Roy Raynolds’ highest stat was not even thirty, considering how the man seemed to know absolutely nothing about how things worked in Orario. He was clearly green as they came, even if he hid it behind his strange mannerisms.

The Monster Tamer Skill did catch her eye, but she dismissed it as something from the odd man’s lineage.

A person’s ancestry could dictate their Skills or even Magic in some cases, so he was probably related in some way to followers of Ganesha, those who worshiped the God long before he descended into Gekai.

Either that, or he was just odd, which, as infuriating as it sounded, made total sense to Rose.

It was only when her eyes landed on Midna’s status that she paused, golden eyes widening in surprise.

Just like with the man’s status, the ink was the tiniest bit smudged—something not unheard of in new Deities, as translating a Falna’s runes into common words was not something they did previously to the Familia’s creation.

‘What… What the heck are these stats?!’ Rose re-read the paper twice, thrice, and even a fourth time for good measure. Yet, each time was even more unbelievable than the last. ‘Three Skills on a level one? And close to a hundred points of magic without a single spell slot consumed?!’

With a frown, Rose’s golden eyes bored into the man and his Pallum companion, both of whom looked completely relaxed and nonchalant.

‘’Lying in your status is illegal. You know that much, right?’’ She prodded, looking between the two.

Roy merely raised an eyebrow, distracted by cleaning one of his ears. ‘’Well, no shit, I would guess lying on every official document is illegal, Wolfie.’’ She tried to ignore the way her eye twitched at the nickname.

Turning to the Pallum yielded the same result. ‘’What hoomie said. If we are going to be lying on something, it’s going to be, like, monthly earnings or something.’’

‘’Ayyy, give it here.’’ The two shared a high-five—low-five, technically, as the Prum was too short for the former.

Ignoring the fact that these two idiots were talking about committing tax fraud, Rose’s ears didn’t pick up any lies.

She was no Goddess, but the amount of smug idiots who thought they could lie straight to her face was an ever constant in this line of work. From the most innocent Adventurer, promising that they kept to the first few floors, to the scum level two or three in some cases, that ‘definitely earned that much without stealing from some newbie.’

It was the latter of which that made her stop being an advisor altogether, as without any proof, Rose could not call out the scum for being scum, or get them any sort of punishment.

But she was rambling. The important thing was that she didn’t hear an accelerated heartbeat or smell any nervousness in the two, and the Deity’s seal was legit.

‘’You are stronger than you look like.’’ Rose scoffed when looking at the Pallum, then at the man. ‘’With your big mouth, I thought you’d be the more experienced, but she could beat your ass twice over.’’

‘’Love me a woman who could kick my ass.’’ Roy nodded sagely with his arms crossed.

‘’Course I am and I can, kukuku.’’ Midna’s chest puffed up, not like there was a lot to show in the first place.

‘’Well, that’s the least I’d expect from someone I rescued from a cave.’’ Roy quipped smugly, and a sudden smack made him almost drop to a knee. ‘’You bitch! My fucking knees!’’

‘’Knee privilege removed, bozo!’’ The miscolored Pallum was suddenly on the run, avoiding a swipe from her human partner by suddenly slipping into the shadows. ‘’Missed me~’’

‘That has to be one of the unknown Skills…’ Rose noted, ears flattening as she felt a headache coming.

‘’Come back here, you coward!’’

‘’I’m not the one afraid to split a gal in two, hoomie!’’

‘’STOP IT, BOTH OF YOU!’’ Rose roared, and as the two froze, with Roy almost getting his hands around Midna’s neck, she knew that her sharp teeth were showing. ‘’I am not dealing with your shit. Come here, fill out these forms, and congratulations on officially becoming members of the job with the highest casualties in the entire damn world!’’

The two looked at her, then at each other, and just as she was about to shout again, both human and pallum nodded and gave her a smug grin.

‘’’’Yes, Mommy~’’’’

Crack!

‘I’m going to kill them.’ Rose decided as the desk finally gave out under her tight grasp, leaving splinters and wooden chunks everywhere.

She really should have retired when she got the chance.

-Roy Raynolds-

Finally, after Rose’s dismissal and with Midna currently resting inside my shadow, I started making a beeline for the old, abandoned church.

Honestly, I expected the city to be darker than the bad parts of… I don’t know, Chicago, with magic drug dealers or something, considering the lack of electricity. Still, curiously enough, the streets were illuminated by a dim, purplish glow coming from different lampposts.

One good look, and I was able to tell that the ‘bulbs’ inside of them were nothing more than magic stones.

‘’Ah… I thought that glowing rocks were an odd thing to exchange for dough.’’ I spoke to myself, ignoring the passerby’s looks while I checked one lamp from various angles. ‘’Have to say, this is convenient as fuck. If these things can replace electricity, no wonder this world is stuck in the medieval ages.’’

It was even an infinite source, considering the fuckass Dungeon just spawned more and more monsters for Adventurers to kill. Sure, those same people could die, but… just don’t die?

Like, Goblins are easy, and I doubt it gets much more difficult unless you start really going down on that bitch. If there’s anyone out there dying in the first three floors, then that's just a skill issue, and the gene pool of Orario has been saved from—

‘’Damn drunktards, meow! No fighting is in the rules!’’ Thud!

I blinked as a small group of three men was kicked to the curb. Two immediately passed out on the street, their faces red as they laughed to themselves, clearly drunk.

The last one? A balding dude with a moustache and a beer belly, on his knees, looking up with a smile at the person responsible for their sudden street situation.

‘’Ah, come on, kittyyy…’’ He smiled up, face just as red as his companions. The man’s words were slurred, and along with his gruff voice, it kind of sounded like a gurgle. ‘’It whas juuuuust a friendly skirmish, why don’t—hic—why don’t you let me frends… get youuu a drink… hehehe…’’

‘Damn, how good is the alcohol in here?’ I asked, surprised. ‘That dude is shitfaced. Like, cartoonish levels of shitfaced.’

‘’Nyo.’’ A higher pitched voice with… an accent? Replied. A petite, black-haired girl with cat ears and a tail, along with piercing, forest-green eyes that couldn’t have been colder if they tried to. ‘’Now book it before Mama Mia comes looking, meow.’’

‘Mama Mia. You can’t be fucking serious.’ I had to resist the urge to snort.

The man tried once more, even approaching the girl a bit too much, but in a move impossibly fast that I think was a leg sweep, the shit faced man was now stone-faced, because his head hit the pavement with a nice thud.

Finally looking up from the scene, I noticed these guys didn’t get kicked out of their homes, but from a restaurant. ‘Hostess of Fertility’, read the sign at the very top, and the loud cheers from inside told me that the place was very much active at these hours.

The catgirl was wearing a green and white waitress uniform, too. The fact that a cutesy girl who used cringy, cat mannerisms had just kicked three big, greasy-looking dudes to the curb was hilarious.

Also incredibly depressing; if that was me getting my ass handed to me by basic cat-girl 101, I would have ended it all right there.

I was just about to pass by, since Hestia and Bell were still waiting for us, but just as I stepped closer to the three passed-out dudes, I saw something… interesting.

One of the dudes, the lankier of the three, had knives tied to his belt, and the other one had a small bag that clinked against the floor as he groaned and moved to his side, completely asleep.

And last I checked, past the trick of nut-kicking goblins, I kind of needed a weapon of some sort.

Also, money.

‘…There are no laws against the drunk idiots, Batman.’ My mind provided.

There probably were, and while I was not above taking things for shit and giggles, I was forced to look up.

The unidentified catgirl had obviously seen me stop, and by the glint in her eye and the way she crossed her arms, I could tell that she knew my intentions. We maintained each other’s gazes before I gestured to the three passed-out drunks.

‘’Hey, I didn’t make them drink themselves stupid.’’ I excused myself, kicking one of the men in the torso. The dude didn’t so much as groan. ‘’Finders keepers, you know?’’

Surprisingly enough, the catgirl snorted.

‘’Hm. Work must be getting to me-ow.’’ She hummed, scratching her head and slowly turning around. ‘’For sure, I thought there was so-meow-one here besides these three. Oh, well, back to work~’’

‘Holy shit, she’s going along with it.’ My cackles went ignored as the waitress crossed the pub’s doors, and my opinion on catgirls greatly improved. ‘’Alright, better be quick.’’

…

I whistled the way back home, around five thousand valis richer, and a set of throwing knives to my name, and thanks to Midna, I learned that my shadow could apparently store shit?

Well, as long as Midna was inside of it, at least.

Cool beans all around.

-X-x-X-

‘’Ladies, guess who officially is a… non-taxpayer now!’’ I announced, bursting through the basement door. ‘’Not like I paid them before, but now I get to not do it legally!’’

‘’Ah, welcome back!’’ Hestia waved from her place on the couch. A tiny smile on her face. ‘’I’m surprised it was even open at this hour. Did you manage to secure yourselves an advisor?’’

‘’Eh, we annoyed the fuck out of them until the bad-bitch wolf redhead gave us the time of day—er, night?’’ I shrugged, closing the door behind me and aiming straight for the kitchenette.

‘’Figures…’’ Hestia sighed, shoulders sagging. Her sunken face made her look like an old lady for a moment. ‘’And the forgery worked?’’

Ah, yes, the forgery.

Apparently, I was the one who needed to ‘update’ Midna’s status. Because we weren’t suicidal enough to leave her race in the open for the monster-killing government to see, Hestia had to help me out in modifying the piece of paper until it looked ‘legit’.

Congrats, Goddess, for committing your first act of federal crime! I’m so proud to have chosen this household!

‘’Something like that,’’ Midna answered for me as she slipped out of my shadow and plopped directly onto the old couch, right next to Hestia, with a smirk. ‘’Hello there, ‘Goddess’~’’

Hestia deadpanned, her azure eyes landing on the Goblin. ‘’…Now, on another day, I’ll brim with joy at having three ‘children’, but it sounds wrong coming from your mouth.’’

‘’Aww… but my hoomie there can attest as to how beautiful the sounds coming from my mouth can be—‘’

Slap!

‘’No degeneracy,’’ Hestia stated as she smacked the top of Midna’s head with a rolled-up paper. ‘’Little Bell is home and taking a bath, and if you corrupt her with your… yourselve-ness, I will kick you to the curb myself!’’

Clicking my fingers, I pointed at the shortstack Goddess while gouging my face with one of the many potato puffs that resided in the fridge. ‘’Slay, Queen.’’

Also, yes, the thing also worked with magic stones. Go figure.

‘’Don’t gorge yourself with that before dinner!’’ Hestia chastised as she got up from the couch. Her whole four feet seven stood straight as she stared ‘down’ at me, who was actively leaning down and could still look over her head. ‘’You’re going to spoil your appetite, Roy!’’

Blinking slowly, I took one last bite of the potato puff before swallowing, which, funnily enough, made Hestia poof up like she was a porcupine.

‘’I thought that was our dinner.’’ I tilted my head to the side, confused. ‘’You know… considering we are poor and basement dwellers to boot?’’

Now, Hestia crossed her arms under her chest while puffing up with a cockly grin, and an act that made my eyes look down for a moment as that bra-less chest bounced with the motion.

‘’Aha! You would think so, won’t you?’’ She shook her head before pointing her index finger at me. ‘’But with your funds added to the mix, we were able to get some last-minute ingredients to cook a full, nutritious meal!’’

My eyes widened in surprise. ‘’You are telling me that I gave money to a homeless person and they actually bought food with it?!’’

This really was a fantasy world!

‘’What’s that supposed to mean?!’’ Hestia scowled, grabbing me by the shirt and shaking me around. ‘’I’m not some irresponsible Goddess, you know? I don’t spend on frivolities!’’

I was thinking more in terms of crack and other hard drugs, but I saved that information for myself.

‘’Fine, fine, sorry.’’ I waved the tiny Goddess off, even if I was greatly amused at how she tried and failed to push me around. ‘’You can be trusted with money, got it.’’

‘’And you better remember it.’’ Hestia huffed, turning her eyes to the side with a pout. Though now a small dust of pink found its way into her cheeks. ‘’And… thank you, Roy—Midna, too. I… I wasn’t able to get things for proper meals, and it’s the third day in a row I had only Potato Puffs to feed me, and more importantly, Bell, so…’’

Pat.

Twin azure eyes looked up at me in surprise and embarrassment.

Pat. Pat.

‘’Y-you…!’’ The pout was now magnified tenfold. ‘’Stop that. I was being serious, you c-can’t just touch your Goddess like that…’’

Pat. Pat. Pat.

‘’Uhhh…’’

Hestia was getting headpatted until she felt better or got sick of it, and considering that, while she looked at the ground dejectively, she had not pushed me off, that would take a while.

‘’Cute.’’ Midna sniffed from her place, lazily splayed on the couch.

That was enough for Hestia to snap her head back and take a step backwards as she remembered we weren’t alone in the room. Clearing her throat with an evident blush on her cheeks, the petite Goddess turned to the kitchenette.

‘’Enough of your games, Roy. N-now, as thanks, the Goddess of the Hearth herself will be preparing all of us a meal!’’ Hestia stated with confidence. ‘’So now you two wait for Bell to come out so you can take a bath, and get ready for dinner, alright?’’

The way she said that with her arms on her hips, nose pointing to the sky, and trying to look bigger than the world while measuring less than five whole Subway footlongs was adorable.

‘’Ohh, now I have an idea for that~’’ Midna purred, grabbing both of our attentions as her smile grew sly. ‘’Hoomie there and me can bathe together… To save water, obviously, don’t want to spend more than we should, right?’’

I could see Hestia’s eyes narrow with disdain. However, a real conflict between trying not to let Midna get away with her degeneracies and the mind of a poor person trying to save an extra buck was active right here and now.

‘’…If I hear so much as a single giggle.’’

‘’Oh, don’t worry.’’ Midna waved her off while winking at me with her lone eye. ‘’I can get choked into silence—‘’

‘’Sorry for taking so long, Lady Hestia!’’ Bell announced as she stepped into the room, pausing for a moment as she noticed Midna on the couch, and me next to the petite deity. ‘’Ah, Miss Midna, Mr. Roy, you are back!’’

The bunny hume had foregone the brow cloak I’ve seen her walking around with. Instead, she had a plain white shirt—again, without a bra; did those not exist around here?—which let me take a good look at her endowed, perky breasts against the fabric. As for bottom-wear, a pair of comfy, black shorts that clung to her waist sinfully tight and let an ample view of her creamy thighs and legs.

‘’Uh… why are the three of you staring at me like that?’’ Bell asked, head and left ear tilting to the side. ‘’D-do I have something on my face?’’

No, not on her face, but her waist. Those shorts… they were way nicer than whatever piece of clothing I’ve seen on the average person today.

Bloomers, to be specific.

Midna and I turned to Hestia, slowly, while the Goddess pursed her lips and tried to play the fool by not making eye contact, but the rising blush on her face ratted her out.

‘’So… No money spent on frivolities, huh?’’ I could feel the shit-eating grin on my face.

‘’No wonder you had to eat Potato Puffs for three days…~’’ Midna followed with her own.

‘’I-I don’t know what you are talking about…’’ Hestia whispered the weakest defense of all time.

‘’Sure you don’t.’’ I chuckled.

‘’Um…’’ Bell interrupted. Her adorably charming face, mixed with the casual yet somehow alluring clothing, was a fatal combination to my heart. ‘’I don’t understand it… But are you fighting?’’

‘’No, Bell, not at all.’’ I shook my head, taking a few steps in her direction and purposely looking her up and down slowly. ‘’We were discussing with Midna and our Goddess here just how adorable you are.’’

‘’E-eh?’’ The bunny girl froze.

‘’Yup. Completely adorable.’’ Midna nodded wisely, having turned around and lying her chest on the couch’s back cushion. ‘’Like, cheeks-pinching adorable, coo at you like a little rabbit while feeding you a carrot type of adorable~’’

‘’E-EH?!’’ Now Bell’s pale face had erupted into a red as intense as her eyes. Frantically, she looked between the two of us before her eyes landed on her Goddess. ‘’L-lady Hestia…’’

Her saving grace was, however, unavailable. The petite Goddess knew that we knew what those nice shorts were for, and with a heavy heart, she turned to the desperate bunny.

‘’Little Bell is the c-cutest, as always…’’ Hestia managed to spit out without keeling over.

‘’EHHHHHHHHHHHH?!’’

I will never get tired of teasing the bunny.

-X-x-X-

After a hearty—hearth-y?—meal, everyone was at least a little tired. I, for one, was almost nodding off at the table. However, the bedding arrangement was the issue.

‘’What do you mean we should just take the bed?’’ I asked Hestia as a sleepy Bell kneeled around the couch. ‘’I mean, don’t get me wrong. I am all up for a comfy bed, but isn’t this kinda your home?’’

‘’Consider it a thank you.’’ Hestia shook her head and smiled a little. ‘’You know, for joining us and the money…’’

‘’We didn’t join because of the kindness of our hearts, though.’’ I raised an eyebrow. Something was a bit… suspicious. ‘’And I thought the meal was the payment?’’

Hestia now looked a bit flustered. Her hands hid behind her back as her smile tightened. ‘’…Right. Well, it can be a double payment…?’’

‘’That’s just stupid—Wait.’’ With narrowed eyes, my gaze turned from the nervous Goddess to Bell, as she had knelt down to take some blankets from a bottom drawer on the couch.

A view that lets that perky bunny ass and that adorable pom-pom-like tail in plain view.

I sniffed, turning back to Hestia. ‘’…Somehow, I forgot you were Greek, you dirty—‘’

‘’You have no right to talk.’’ Hestia immediately denied, her nervousness gone and replaced with a piercing stare as she looked between my shadow and me. ‘’I know what you are.’’

‘Damn, shorty can bite back.’ Pursing my lips, I turned around with a wave. ‘’What were we talking about again? Ah, yes. We’ll take the bed, thank you for your hospitality, Lady Hestia.’’

For a second, I thought she whispered something along the lines of ‘smartass’ before huffing and turning to Bell with a thousand-watt smile.

You know what? It wasn’t really my business. If I could bang a Monster, so could a Goddess bang her child—pause. So could a Goddess try to seduce her followers.

‘Thought she was supposed to be the virgin goddess, though?’ I wondered as I stepped into the dark room, closing the door behind me. ‘Something something, she kicked Zeus in the balls and made him say ‘’Ain’t nobody touching my big sis’’ or some shit.’

Eh, myths could be wrong, so with that—

‘’Hey there, hoomie.’’ A smug voice purred out.

Even in the dark, barely-lit room, Midna’s blue tattoos shone bright as day. The turquoise colors mixed with the dark as the goblin let the ‘shadows’ covering her body fall.

Pretty, turquoise nipples were revealed to the world, as was a slit of the same color, as Midna splayed herself on the old mattress. Her orange hair shifted, forming into a giant hand that beckoned me over with an index finger.

Without so much as a blink, I felt myself being forcefully moved around. Midna’s control over shadows and her ability to warp made it stupidly easy for her to drop me into the bed and suddenly stand over me. One of her tiny hands was palming the bulge quickly forming in my pants.

‘’Midna…’’ I whispered with some strain, very aware of how thin the walls in this place probably are.

‘’Shhh… It's fine if we are quiet.’’ The massive orange hand made of hair pressed a shushing finger to my lips as Midna’s grin went feral with need as she clutched my clothed erection. ‘’Besides… you didn’t think you’d get to skim me off my dessert, did ya?’’

Oh boy.

-Bonus Scene: Curiosity Enthralled the Rabbit-

-Bell Cranel-

Turning on the couch, Bell opened her eyes. It was way past midnight, and while she was able to sleep for a bit, nature called to her.

‘’Bell… hehehe…’’ And the problem of Lady Hestia clinging to her body arose. However, this wasn’t the first time Bell had to deal with something like this. ‘’Hmmm…’’

With swift movements that an expert thief would call a sleight of hand, Bell replaced herself with a pillow, being able to escape her goddess's crutches.

‘I don’t mind the closeness…’ Bell told herself as she approached the bathroom to do her thing. ‘It’s… It’s not weird if we are both girls, right?’

The sudden heat that rose to her cheeks as she remembered Hestia’s form clinging to her torso, and how her head pressed against Bell’s chest, certainly told her otherwise.

‘Don’t be weird, Bell! That’s your Goddess…!’ She reminded herself with a shake of the head.

With her deed done and the bathroom cleaned up of any smells, Bell made her way back on her tiptoes so as not to wake anybody up.

And then her ears twitched.

‘’Hmmn… Yes… Right… ah~’’

What was that sound?

‘’Fff—Mn! Ohhh…’’

Bell froze, face stuck in a frown. The voice was coming from the bedroom, and considering the high pitch… was that Midna? Was she having a nightmare?

For some reason, Bell decided to check it out. If her newest member was having a hard time sleeping… maybe she could do something? Bell had her fair experience with sleeping problems, so maybe she could help?

Yet, just as she reached the door, and the old wood creeked open just a smidge, allowing one of Bell’s crimson eyes to peek in, she froze, ears and spine standing on edge.

Because it wasn’t a nightmare she just walked into.

‘’Y-yeah! Get your—hmnnng!—Get your tongue in there, hoomie…!’’ Midna moaned, her orange hair having shapeshifted into something representing a hand as she pushed the back of Roy’s head into her… rear.

‘T-they are…’ Belll couldn’t even finish the thought, as the glowing Pallum wasn’t the only thing catching her attention. ‘That’s…’

The Pallum was, for lack of a better word, giving as she was taking. Her hands clasped around a rod of flesh, pumping it up and down in her hands, causing a slick and shiny clear liquid to erupt from the tip at irregular intervals.

It didn’t take long for the smell to invade Bell’s nose, and if she was shocked before, now she felt… strange.

Her face heated up, her ears perked at attention, catching every sound, and there was a sudden heat in her belly, followed by a strange shiver along her spine, near her tail.

‘I… I guess they did look pretty close.’ Bell thought, and then grimaced, shame filling her mind and gut. ‘I shouldn’t be watching…’

But she couldn’t take her eyes away from the scene, how the Midna sat on Roy’s face, and especially how that same Pallum was pumping the man’s throbbing… shaft.

‘’What did you call it again? Baja-blast pussy?’’ Midna moaned out, her tone sending another shiver into Bell’s core. ‘’Then fucking eat it, both holes, too! T-tongue my ass you ffffUUUCK!’’

A hiss escaped Midna’s mouth as she went to cover it. Her lone, red eye rolled back in pleasure as her entire body shivered. The smell Bell was perceiving suddenly doubled in intensity, making her feel dizzy and… excited.

And then she realized.

Midna wasn’t mindlessly orgasming on top of the man, or well, not only that.

She was looking straight at Bell. The edges of her lips rose into a huge, mischievous grin as she and the Pallum shared a stare.

Immediately, Bell recoiled off the door, as if struck. Her breaths came in short, and she felt a hot wetness in her lower belly. Even if the entire basement was dark, she could bet her cheeks were glowing red.

And as she tried to sneak back into bed and ignore what had happened, the sound of soft, smug giggles followed right behind her. It was clear as day that Midna saw her.

‘Idiot, idiot, idiot…!’ She cursed herself with shame, trying to dissipate the mental image of those two’s… activities off her head.

Now, however, came a greater challenge.

Bell still needed to sleep, and the only way was to sneak back into her Goddess’s embrace, lest she appear too suspicious once morning came.

So, with the uncomfortable shiver down her spine, the hotness in her core, and the fuzziness in her head, Bell replaced the pillow with her body, causing her Lady to mumble something incoherent before she attached herself to Bell.

And, of course, the rabbit’s gaze wandered to Hestia’s plentiful cleavage. Shame and heat pooled inside her once more as she screamed internally and tried to sleep.

Bell did not, however, get much sleep that night.

And the little sleep that she did have? Well… It was safe to say that her dreams contained a certain man with his Pallum companion, and, shamefully enough, the figure of her Goddess in some instances.

All because of her curiosity.

Author's Note:

I feel like Rose would be the kind of advisor that cannot stop reminding you just how much of a dumbass you are, but if she hears peep of someone else thrashing you, she will smack a bitch.

Also, she will retire with gray hairs, mark my words.

(Now that I think about it, our boy Roy is getting close with two Animal-Humes already. Hestia bless his hips if somehow the heat cycles align.

As a side note, Danmachi doesn't really talk about Seasons, BUT the first chapter of the Anime was released in Spring...

Reality can be whatever I want.
