The war table in Layer Two wasn’t made of wood or slate—it was a six-foot slab of translucent cartilage linked directly to the Titan’s nervous system.

Light radiated from beneath its surface, projecting a three-dimensional topographic map of the regional mountain passes.

Small glowing blue nodes represented The Bone-Grave’s defenses, while a thick, ominous red cloud marked the marching coordinates of House Vane’s main host.Full novel: Isekai Overseer: Reign of the Behemoth — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Valen stood at the head of the table, his right hand resting flat against the cartilage frame.

Around him gathered his core leadership: Marcus, his heavy bone-shield arm resting against his side; Karen, wiping grease from her brass-framed goggles; the brainwashed Vaelen Vane, standing in rigid, silent attention; and Lyra, whose eyes flickered with faint sapphire embers.

“Three thousand heavy infantry, two hundred mounted knights, and six heavy siege batteries,” Valen said, his voice cutting through the hum of the nearby marrow conduits.

“Lord Vane isn’t coming to negotiate.

He’s coming to flatten this settlement and reclaim the Titan’s organs.”

“Their marching formation is rigid,” Vaelen Vane spoke up, his voice flat and monotone under the absolute control of his neural collar.

“Lord Vane favors a three-pronged advance.

The main infantry force will push directly down the central gorge, backed by the heavy siege engines.

The mounted knights will flank through the western dry riverbed to cut off any retreat.”

“And their supply line?” Valen asked.

“Slow and heavy,” Vaelen replied instantly.

“The siege engines consume three hundred barrels of refined marrow-oil every two days.

They are hauled in heavy iron-plated wagons at the very rear of the column, guarded by a light rear guard.”

Karen leaned over the glowing table, squinting at the map.

“If we choke their fuel supply, those six siege engines become twelve-ton paperweights.”

“Exactly,” Valen said.

“Which means we don’t fight a static defensive war on their terms.

We bleed their logistics before their front ranks ever see our gates.”

He turned his attention to Lyra.

The young woman looked tired—faint dark circles bruised the pale skin under her eyes.

Managing the Nerve-Scribe Tower’s long-range radar grid for hours at a time was taking a severe cognitive toll on her un-augmented human nervous system.

“Lyra,” Valen said softly, stepping closer to her.

“You can’t handle a three-thousand-man battlefield grid with your current neural capacity.

The cognitive feedback when the siege begins will burn out your optical nerves.” New chapters come out on g.com first.

Lyra looked up at him, her amber-and-sapphire eyes fierce with unwavering resolve.

She reached out, placing her hand firmly over his.

“Then change me, My Lord.

I won’t be a liability when the war starts.

Give me what I need to hold the sky for you.”

Valen looked at her for a long moment, reading the complete, unshakeable devotion in her gaze.

“It is a delicate procedure.

It will permanently link your central nervous system to mine and the Titan’s core.”

“I am ready,” she whispered without a second’s hesitation.

An hour later, the central operating chamber beneath the Nerve-Scribe Tower was sealed.

Lyra lay bare-shouldered on the organic operating slab, suspended beneath a web of glowing, sapphire-blue neural filaments.

Valen leaned over her, his System-infused palm pulsing with warm, steady light.

“This will sting,” Valen whispered, brushing a lock of silver-grey hair away from her forehead.

“I trust you,” she murmured, closing her eyes.

Valen pressed the Crystalline Neural Node directly against the base of her skull while channeling a stream of pure, refined Ichor-Heart energy into her spine.

A sharp gasp escaped Lyra’s lips as delicate, luminescent silver filaments materialized under her skin, spreading across her temples and interweaving into a delicate, crown-like pattern across her hairline.

The biological threads pulsed in unison with Valen’s own heartbeat.

Lyra’s eyes snapped open.

They no longer flared sporadically—they glowed with a brilliant, serene sapphire radiance.

She sat up smoothly, her breath catching as a sudden flood of sensory data expanded her consciousness across the entire settlement.

She could feel the vibration of every miner’s footstep, the flow of liquid ichor through the pipes, and the precise heartbeat of the man standing beside her.

She looked at Valen, a soft, breathless smile touching her lips.

Through the new, unbreakable link between their minds, she didn’t just hear his voice—she felt his thoughts, his cold determination, and his quiet warmth toward her.

“I can see…

everything,” she whispered, raising a trembling hand to touch the delicate, glowing silver mark on her temple.

“My Lord…

we’re connected.”

Valen gently cupped her cheek, feeling the steady, harmonious pulse of her neural network aligning perfectly with his own.

“Now, you are the brain of this fortress, Lyra.”

She leaned into his palm, her eyes fluttering shut for a brief moment as a deep wave of affection and loyalty washed through their shared connection.

“And I am entirely yours.”

Valen stepped out of the chamber and summoned Marcus and Kael to the main courtyard.

“Lord Vane’s vanguard will enter the outer sensor range in less than forty-eight hours,” Valen commanded, his voice ringing through the cold stone hall.

“Kael, take twelve penal scouts fitted with volatile marrow-charges.

You are leaving tonight through the lower drainage tunnels.”

Kael bowed low, his nerve-cuffs gleaming in the torchlight.

“Your orders, Overseer?”

“Infiltrate the western mountain passes,” Valen said, pointing to a dark ravine on the tactical map.

“Find House Vane’s supply train.

You aren’t attacking their soldiers—you are blowing their marrow-fuel wagons to hell.”

He turned to Marcus and Karen.

“And for the rest of us,” Valen smiled darkly, “we have thirty-six hours to turn this valley floor into a subterranean minefield.”
