JAY’s POV
I was in my bedroom, lazily scrolling through endless reels, when the peace shattered.
“JAY—!”
The voice slammed into me so loud I flinched hard enough that my phone nearly slipped from my fingers.
What the hell—
I shoved off the bed and stormed out into the hallway like my life depended on it.
By the time I hit the top of the stairs the scene below stopped me.
There they all stood—Freya, Rakki, Ella, Honey, Grace, Mica—every single one of my girls dressed to kill in matching black outfits that looked dangerous and expensive.
They were talking to Mom like they owned the place.
I crossed my arms tight over my chest.
“Why are you all here?”
They turned toward me in perfect sync.
Their faces lit up like Christmas morning.
“Jay—!” they shouted in unison.
The second blast was even louder.
I had to clap my hands over my ears.
I jogged down the stairs.
“Why are you all here?” I repeated, voice flat.
They exchanged one of those knowing looks, then smirked at me in a way that immediately told me they were up to something.
I narrowed my eyes and gave them my best dangerous glare.
Freya slid up beside me and slung an arm around my shoulders.
“Baby,” she cooed in that high, sweet voice of hers, glancing at her perfectly manicured nails before sweeping a hand toward the others.
Every girl held shopping bags.
“We. Are. Having. Your. Bachelor party.”
Before I could argue they dragged me straight back into my room, bags thumping against the walls.
One by one they unzipped and revealed everything.
My eyes went wider with each new item.
Ella held up a garment bag and pulled out a dangerously hot crimson dress.
Honey brandished a full makeup kit.
Rakki produced a pair of black YSL heels that matched the dress perfectly.
Mica dumped an arsenal of hair supplies onto the bed.
Grace set down a sleek Chanel black handbag like it was the final piece of a weapon.
They shoved me into the bathroom with the dress and barked orders to hurry.
The final look was magnificent.
They had turned the oversized-hoodie girl into a dangerously hot woman I barely recognized in the mirror.
The comments hit next level.
“Gurl, you are gonna kill someone today,” Honey squealed.
“You look hot, baby,” Freya noted, a slight smirk lingering on her face.
“Oh, come on, we’re talking about Jasper Jean Mariano here. She has to look breathtaking,” Ella added, mirroring Freya’s smirk.
“Shut up, guys!” I hissed as heat crawled up my cheeks.
They just laughed.
We finally wrapped up the chaos in my room and stepped out into the cold night air, the chill a sharp contrast to how hot we looked.
We piled into Freya and Honey’s cars and tore off toward the edge of the city, both vehicles blasting loud music and wild laughter the whole way.
When the cars finally halted my breath hitched.
A high-end premium bar glowed in front of us.
I barely got both feet on the ground before the girls dragged me inside.
We made an entrance like a ticking bomb.
Heads turned.
Conversations paused.
We owned every stare as we walked straight to the bar and placed our orders.
“We told you,” Grace said, swirling her drink and nodding behind me.
“You’re going to kill someone.”
I glanced over my shoulder.
Plenty of eyes were locked on us.
I turned back to my girls and shrugged it off.
“Leave them, girls. Let’s hit the dance floor,” Rakki suggested.
“Tonight we just drink and dance.”
Before I could answer they hauled me onto the floor, laughing and moving with the music.
It was the best night.
We danced hard, laughed harder, swayed until our feet ached.
At one point we all kicked off our heels just to keep going barefoot.
Eventually we stumbled back to our seats, still laughing about how Rakki and Freya had been dancing and how Honey had almost wiped out on the floor.
“So when did you all plan this?” I asked.
“A week ago,” Ella replied before taking a sip.
“You’re not gonna believe this, gurl,” Freya said, eyes wide, pointing at Mica.
“She was the one who suggested the whole thing.”
“Like, can you imagine?” Honey jumped in.
“The silent girl of the group suggested a bachelor party. And in a bar, no less.”
“She even picked the color theme,” Rakki added.
“I—I just wanted Jay to have a proper bachelor party,” Mica said shyly, a blush creeping over her face.
“Yah, yah. Finally someone showed what she’s capable of,” Freya teased.
Mica groaned and buried her burning face in her hands, muttering about how much she hated us and why she ever opened her mouth.
We all laughed.
I looked around the table.
Despite the loud buzz of the bar it felt peaceful in our little circle.
Freya and Honey kept snapping photos for their socials, occasionally yanking one of us into frame before posting.
Ella and Mica were mixing two drinks into some unholy creation they immediately regretted.
Grace was chatting with someone at the next table only to get mercilessly teased by Rakki.
I had missed this.
These girls were my good-luck charms through everything.
Back in high school they called us the Trouble-Causing Group.
Now here we were, still together, chasing jobs and dreams and somehow still finding nights like this.
A loud squealing voice yanked me straight out of my thoughts.
“MUTYA—!”
