KEIFER’s POV

The next morning, I sped straight to HQ.

Angelo, Aries, and Percy had already been informed earlier.Full novel: JAYFER – The Shadow’s Love — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I hadn’t slept a wink last night; I just couldn’t.

Not after hearing everything we had missed.

I needed to act today.

Tomorrow was the wedding, and I couldn’t let Liam marry Jay.

He might think he had already won, but the worst nightmare was just beginning.

I pulled the office door open so forcefully that it nearly unhinged from the wall.

My anger was too much to care about anything else.

I walked further into the room and sat on the leather chair behind my desk, my jaw tight and fists clenched hard enough to draw blood.

Sitting on the couch were all three of them, waiting.

They knew the look on my face.

No one dared to joke.

Even though they didn’t know the full extent of what I had discovered yesterday, they weren’t pleased about the wedding tomorrow.

They were already busy digging into that asshole’s background.

The faint lines of exhaustion and tired eyes were clearly visible, but they refused to give up.

They couldn’t bear the thought of their sister marrying someone they didn’t know enough about.

I knew they were blaming themselves for not acting sooner.

“Keifer,” Angelo spoke, his voice tight with anger.

“If you’re just going to sit there silently and glare at those files, we have nothing to talk about.”

“Angelo,” my voice was cold and dangerous.

“Don’t you dare step out of this room without knowing what you’re about to see.”

This was the first time I had spoken to Angelo like this; he had always been a boss and a mentor to me.

But the current situation demanded it.

“Keifer, just spill it,” Aries urged, his impatience clear.

“We’re here because you asked us to be. Tell us what you found.”

I slowly stood up, my fingers tightening around the files Chase had given me, and walked toward them.

I slammed the files down hard enough on the coffee table to make a crack.

“Read them.”

“Liam William… he has illegal transactions,” I began, my voice dropping low.

“Dealing banned drugs, smuggling diamonds offshore, weapons, and trafficking women.”

I nodded toward the second file.

“He’s been working with an underground hidden auction circuit held by mafia groups in Singapore.”

“What auction? Why weren’t we informed about this?” Percy asked, leaning forward, his eyes wide with disbelief.

I held his gaze.

“It’s not just some normal auction.”

“Then what exactly is it?” Aries demanded, while Angelo sat back, calm, as if already knowing what he was about to hear.

“The auctions are for women and… children.” I finally dropped the bombshell, and even saying it aloud made something disgusting churn inside me.

“WHAT—!”

“FUCK—!”

I looked at them before continuing.

“And the trip to Bali I mentioned earlier? It’s not just a vacation.” I paused for emphasis.

“It’s because Liam sold Jay in that auction for ten billion to a wealthy family in Bali.”

The silence that followed was suffocating, as if they were processing each and every word that escaped my lips.

Suddenly, Angelo shot up and struck his fist against the wall behind him, his breath shallow, rage radiating off him like heat from a fire.

Despite his back facing us, I could see how much he was controlling himself not to explode.

“Tell me you’re lying, Keifer,” he said, his voice low and dangerous.

“Tell me this is all a fucking lie, or I won’t spare that asshole this time.”

“Does it look like a fucking joke?” I roared, my frustration boiling over.

“I would never joke about anything involving Jay. She is my love. And you know that.”

He finally turned to face me, his eyes dark with pure rage, his jaw clenched tight, blood dripping from his knuckles.

“Kuya, you’re ble—” Percy started, but before he could finish, Angelo raised his hand to stop him.

“Get straight to the point,” he demanded, looking at me.

“Tomorrow is the wedding. I won’t let my sister walk down the aisle to sign her own death warrant. If you love her, then don’t just talk—do something to prove it.”

“I’m not finished yet, Angelo.” I held his gaze, refusing to back down.

“He’s already married to the only daughter of our biggest rival—both the Marianos and Watsons. He’s married to Anna Raven, daughter of James Raven.”

“But aren’t the Ravens going bankrupt after the final blow from both companies four years ago?” Aries asked, frowning.

“I heard from Dad that they were in so much debt they had no option but to hide from the world.”

“Yes, his ego shattered completely after that,” I said.

“He joined forces with Liam William in the underground, combining their powers to start all these illegal businesses.” Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

“So, you think this is revenge?” Percy asked, his brow furrowing.

“I don’t think. I fucking know it is,” I replied, my voice steady but laced with fury.

“But why Jay?” Angelo asked, his tone shifting from anger to confusion.

“Because they know how important Jay is to both families, she was easy approach.” I explained, my frustration boiling over.

“So what now?” Aries looked at his wristwatch before lifting his head.

“We have exactly 24 hours until the wedding.”

A smirk formed on my face, fueled by determination.

“It’s already done.”

“What did you do?” Angelo asked, his interest piqued, a flicker of hope igniting in his eyes.

My smirk widened, as I slowly stood up.

The room was charged with tension.

The stakes were higher than ever, and I was ready to unleash hell on anyone who dared to put their hands on Jay.

This was no longer just about love; it was about protecting what was mine, and I would stop at nothing to ensure her safety.
