When the friends heard that the pretty girl was only staying at the Lu residence temporarily, their eyes lit up instantly.

Someone quietly nudged Zhou Shiying’s arm.

“Chaosheng’s sister is really pretty—is she your type?”Full novel: Just staying over? How did he kiss you until your legs went soft? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Of course she is!” Zhou Shiying laughed frivolously. He’d always been a flirt, falling for every beautiful woman he saw. Now that he’d laid eyes on Lin Yutang, he was already scheming.

“Chaosheng, introduce your sister to me.”

“Scram, scram, scram. Zhou Shiying, you’re nothing but a frivolous playboy. Let me get to know her instead.”

“Tsk, first a friend, then a sister, and finally a sweetheart, right? You guys really have no self-restraint. I think our Xunmo is beautiful too!”

Gu Xunmo, whose name had been called, gave a gentle smile. “Chaosheng’s sister really is beautiful. What’s your name?”

“My name is Lin Yutang.” Lin Yutang nodded politely at her.

This girl named Gu Xunmo was the only female among all the people in the living room, and she spoke softly and warmly. Lin Yutang took an immediate liking to her.

The other guys were still making a ruckus. Some who had been sitting farther away had even stood up and moved to Lin Yutang’s side, peppering her with all sorts of questions.

Lin Yutang had a thin skin, and since they were Lu Chaosheng’s friends, she felt too embarrassed to refuse them.

Gu Xunmo shook her head helplessly. “Are you guys ever going to stop? Tangtang just got back—let her rest for a bit.”

But no one listened to her.

Crack—

The sound of knuckles popping rang out, one after another, unusually clear.

The man’s pale, cold knuckles stretched taut over faint blue veins. Each press carried a suppressed, barely contained ferocity, as if issuing a silent warning.

The group that had been chatting animatedly gradually noticed something was off.

Lu Chaosheng lounged lazily against the sofa, his whole body as if boneless, his voice as languid and idle as ever—yet the murderous aura radiating from him filled the entire living room.

“Go back to where you came from. Stay away from my sister.”

Those who weren’t as close to him obediently returned to their seats. Zhou Shiying, however, was too familiar with him and couldn’t resist a quip. “Chaosheng, what do you mean? You tell us to keep our distance, but you’re the one sitting right next to your sister. You’re not the one who’s ‘first a sister, then a sweetheart,’ are you?”

Lin Yutang was already rendered speechless by this group’s unbridled remarks.

Naturally, she didn’t notice that Gu Xunmo’s hand, which had been resting on her arm, stiffened for a brief moment at Zhou Shiying’s words.

As for Lu Chaosheng, upon hearing this, he narrowed his long, phoenix-like eyes and let out a light chuckle. “I’ll give you one chance to rephrase that.”

Zhou Shiying learned his lesson and shut his mouth.

The group didn’t end up going to Jingyue Club, but they still stayed at Lu Chaosheng’s place playing until past ten in the evening before dispersing.

Lin Yutang had gone upstairs to her room early to rest. When she came down later to get some water, she happened to catch the living room with only Lu Chaosheng in it.

Seeing him picking up the scattered drink bottles and setting them upright, she walked over.

“Are you cleaning up? Let me help you.”

Without overthinking it, Lin Yutang bent down directly and gathered a few plastic bottles from the floor, placing them on the table.

“I’ll do a quick tidy-up. Uncle Han will send people over to clean later.” Lu Chaosheng finished his sentence before straightening up. He turned around and saw Lin Yutang, who had come to help, also bent over picking up bottles.

Except—

She was wearing a thin camisole. Her skin was fair and delicate, her collarbones deeply defined on her slender shoulders. As she bent over, a stretch of snow-white flushed with a hint of pink was fully exposed to his view.

Lu Chaosheng’s ears turned red, much to his own chagrin.

His gaze lingered on her fair, tender skin, and he didn’t dare imagine how that delicate expanse would bloom with a sea of pink if someone were to pinch it or brush against it.

When he spoke again, his voice was slightly hoarse. “Stop picking those up. Go back to your room.”

“Alright.” Lin Yutang slowly straightened up.

Uncle Han happened to walk over just then. “Young Master, Miss Lin, I’ve brought a few people over to clean up. You two should head back to your rooms and rest.”

Lu Chaosheng furrowed his brow, reached down to grab his jacket from the sofa, and draped it over Lin Yutang’s shoulders.

As he led her out of the living room, his gaze swept over the fullness that even her camisole couldn’t fully conceal.

His Adam’s apple rolled slowly. “Uncle Han is here, and there are also some male servants in the house. Be more careful next time—don’t dress like that in front of them.”

Lin Yutang blinked a few times before realizing he was talking about her camisole.

She pouted and acknowledged it. “Oh, got it. I only came down tonight to get a glass of water.”

A few seconds later, it suddenly hit her. “Wait—when I was alone with you in the living room just now, why didn’t you tell me to be careful then?”

Lu Chaosheng stared at her, raised an eyebrow, and slowly leaned down, closing the distance between them. “Pretty clever, actually thinking of that.”

The space between them suddenly shrank dramatically, almost to the point of touching.

Lin Yutang could clearly feel his scorching breath brushing against her forehead, and her heart inexplicably skipped a beat.

She swallowed.

Then, a low chuckle drifted to her ears—hoarse and alluring.

“I’m your brother, and brothers are the exception. You can wear anything in front of me, can’t you?”

Lin Yutang was rendered speechless by his words. She wanted to argue, but she knew that trying to reason with his logic would be futile.

The man took another step forward, his knee brushing against her thigh, which was only covered by her shorts.

His voice dropped even lower, tinged with a hint of teasing ambiguity.

“Or you could wear nothing at all.”

Lin Yutang: “…”

She fell into a dry, awkward silence.

Was this something a brother should say to his sister?

This pervert!

Furious, Lin Yutang shoved him. “Get up quickly, stop pressing your knee against me. We’re standing at the stairway—what if Uncle Han sees us?”

Lu Chaosheng lazily defended himself, stepping back slightly. “I wasn’t pressing my knee against you.”

He’d rather use something else.

Watching Lin Yutang flee upstairs in a fluster, Lu Chaosheng’s eyes flickered with amusement, and a smile curled at the corner of his lips.

The registration day at Jinghai University was set for Monday.

Uncle Lu had been away on business trips, leaving only Lin Yutang and Lu Chaosheng at home.

Lin Yutang wished every day that he would hurry back to Cambridge, but no matter how long she waited, he showed no sign of packing his bags.

It wasn’t until the day of registration at Jingda that something changed.

The maid helped carry her luggage to the door. Just as Lin Yutang was about to leave, Uncle Han stopped her.

“Miss Lin, I’ve sent the driver to handle other matters. The young master is also heading to Jingda to register today—why don’t you two go together?”

Silent for three seconds, Lin Yutang could hardly believe it. She repeated Uncle Han’s words, “…Brother Chaosheng is also registering at Jingda?”

“Yes.” Uncle Han nodded, realizing she didn’t know yet, and explained with a smile, “The young master turned down his Cambridge offer a while back. He’ll be studying at Jinghai University from now on.”

Lin Yutang: “…”

Even after getting into Lu Chaosheng’s Pagani, she still felt dazed.

She would be staying at the Lu residence for a long time yet, and with Lu Chaosheng studying at Jingda, it meant the two of them would often be sleeping under the same roof.

Lin Yutang let out a sigh.

This young master, whom she couldn’t afford to offend, was always saying rude, strange, and nasty things to her, and she had nowhere to hide.

The car pulled up at the school gate. The expensive luxury vehicle and the eye-catching license plate immediately drew the attention of many passersby.

Lin Yutang whispered to him, “Brother, could you park somewhere more discreet and let me get out first?”

If she got out now, within an hour, the whole school would probably know she’d arrived in Lu Chaosheng’s car.

Lu Chaosheng looked down at her, his voice lowering slightly. “Are you afraid of people seeing you ride in my car?”

“No…” Lin Yutang instinctively denied it.

Lu Chaosheng parked in front of the small grove of trees ahead, then slowly turned his head. “Then are you afraid of me? Afraid I’ll devour you in public?”

Lin Yutang’s lashes trembled. “No, how could you possibly do that.”

“Why not?” Lu Chaosheng leaned down, his voice close to her ear. “I don’t just want to eat you—I want to see you cry.”

Lin Yutang: “…”

“Brother, I’m off to register first! Bye!” She quickly yanked open the car door and dashed away with her luggage.

Lin Yutang left in such a hurry and panic that she didn’t notice someone behind the small grove of trees had taken note of the scene.
