Trenton Smith hesitated slightly, giving her a half-amused glance.

“You’ve been saying this a lot recently, do you think I won’t really kill you?”

Norris Moore laughed heartily, “Mr.Full novel: Keep Low-Profile for the Hidden Marriage — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Smith, feel free to try.”

Trenton glanced at her laughing face, then said with a smirk, “Killing you would be too easy on you, wouldn’t it?”

Norris suddenly paused, and then, she laughed.

She nodded, “You’re right.

Mr.

Smith’s pride is worth much more than Norris’s life.”

For half an hour, she sat there alone, pondering the meaning of the document, and finally figured it out—Trenton Smith wanted to toy with her.

He probably thought that she hadn’t suffered enough during the past six months, so he decided to keep her by his side to torment her.

Signing this contract meant that her life would be completely controlled by Trenton Smith from now on.

In the future, even if he wanted to slowly torture her piece by piece, she couldn’t say a word against it.

That was truly a heartless thing to do.

She held the pen while looking at the document, and looked up, “I’m at your mercy, but I have one request.”

He squinted at her, “What?”

“You’re not allowed to hit me after I follow you.”

“…”

Norris licked her pale lips and explained, “I’m actually quite afraid of pain.”

Hearing her words, Trenton glanced at the bandage wrapped around her right palm, something flashed in his deep eyes.

He smirked after a moment, as if recalling something, “When you were with me back then, how come you weren’t afraid of me hitting you?”

Norris’s face remained calm, “Because back then, I thought that I was so great that you would fall in love with me.”

Trenton’s eyes narrowed slightly, silently sizing her up.

As Norris looked at his emotionless face, she gently smiled, “Back then, I thought that no matter how good she was to you, she couldn’t compare to how good I was to you.

You should’ve loved me at some point.” She chuckled here, seeming to find her past naivety truly amusing.

“I was too narcissistic back then, and easily misunderstood situations.

It really made things difficult for you, Mr.

Smith.”

Their youthful infatuation was a one-sided affair, solely belonging to her.

That love affair was her own euphoria, completely unrelated to him.

She had understood this for a long time now.

Now, it was just a source of ridicule.

Trenton was silent for a moment, his face showing no emotion.

He stared at the self-mocking smile on her face, his facial expression tense.

Then, he lifted his chin and said, “Sign.”

Norris smiled, looking at his cold face, nodded, “Alright.”

She effortlessly signed her name on the document.

Outside the door, McKinney White’s cell phone in his suit pocket suddenly rang.

He took out his phone and glanced at the caller ID, then answered it.

“Hello?”

“Where’s Treton?” A light male voice came from the phone.

McKinney took a drag from his cigarette and softly laughed, “He’s going mad for his ex-wife.” He paused, then asked, “What exactly is he doing?”

The man on the other end answered indifferently, “Do you think the three-year marriage between him and Norris Moore was only about hatred?”

McKinney exhaled a puff of smoke and chuckled lightly, “Well, it definitely can’t be love, can it?” That would be truly horrifying.

“Who knows.

He’s a madman to begin with; we normal people shouldn’t try to understand him.”
