Kayla went upstairs to deliver some documents, she found Mabel alone in the private room she was directed to.
“Hello, Miss Madrigal.
I brought the documents Mr Martin asked for.
Where is he?”
“He just stepped out.
Marco King just arrived at the next room and Trevor went to greet him.”
Upon hearing that Marco King was right next door, Kayla was thrilled.
She had always had a crush on him and had fantasized about marrying him; even though she knew it was impossible, she couldn’t help but feel a flutter in her heart.
“Anyway, those documents are for Mr Moore, he’s two doors away.
Just go give it to him and have him sign them.
I’m going to the restroom.” Mabel stood and left.
Kayla smiled at herself, this was her opportunity to prove herself to her boss.
She headed to the room Mabel had described.
Inside, she found a fat man who had his head flung back.
He was obviously drunk.
Should she go and come back another time?
This man didn’t seem to be in any shape to get his signature.
As she turned, she suddenly heard his voice.
“Who are you?”
Kayla turned around and saw the man was sitting up now, his movements was quite shaky.
“I’m from TM.
I was asked to get your signature.”
“Oh, okay.” He brought out a pen from his breast pocket.
“Bring them over.”
Kayla moved closer to him.
“Sit here and show me the documents properly.”
Kayla blinked, seeing him tapping his lap.
No way…
Before she could think of anything more, he pulled her down to sit on his lap.
“Aren’t you such a beaut?” The man let out, lustfully.
Kayla instantly knew where this was headed.
“Mr Moore, this is inappropriate.”
“What is inappropriate about spreading your legs for me?” With that, the man pulled her to lie on the sofa and pinned her down.
“Mr Moore…stop!” Kayla struggled.
“Stop struggling with me, girl.” The man drawled as he fondled with her breasts.
Kayla had done a lot of things to rise to the top but sleeping with pig-like men were out of it.
If the man were more like her spec, she’d accept but this right here reeked of alcohol and he looked disgusting.
Suddenly, the door opened.
“Kayla…” Mabel paused on seeing the scene.
For a moment, it seemed like she regretted walking in at that moment and she wanted to leave.
But seeing Mr Moore momentarily distracted, Kayla pushed him off her and ran up to hide behind Mabel.
“Well, that’s a boomer.
Get this document out of my face.” Mr Moore thundered.
“Mr Moore, I am very sorry.” Mabel apologized taking Kayla by surprise.
“Too late for that, that fucking representative of yours was very rude and I do not want to do business with you.” Mr Moore fumed, standing up.
Mabel suddenly pushed Kayla to the front.
“Quick, apologize to Mr Moore.”
Although Kayla felt wronged, she did as she was told.
“I’m sorry for being rude, Mr Moore.”
The man scoffed.
“Like I said, too late!
You had your chance.” With that, he left without signing the contract.
Kayla felt guilty for ruining the deal.
She had really wanted to impress Mabel and Trevor.
Should she have just gave in to the man’s advances?
“I’m sorry, Mabel.
I didn’t mean to mess this up.”
Mabel rubbed her back and smiled.
“It’s okay.
It’s not your fault.
Some clients can really be something.”
Kayla felt her spirits lifted again.
She thought Mabel must be a really nice person.
Mabel told her to wait in the car while she went to find Trevor.
She was getting tired and just wanted to go home.
The private room Trevor was in was crowded with people surrounding Marco King, while Trevor and the other two waited in a corner.
When she found Trevor, he wasn’t ready to leave yet until he becomes acquainted with Marco.
He felt this was a rare opportunity.
“Mabel, I heard you were previously engaged to Marco’s cousin, Bradley.
Surely, you must already be familiar with Marco.” Tristan let out.
Mabel’s expression stiffened.
“I think we only met once so we’re not close at all.”
Tristan sighed.
“That’s a shame.”
Trevor noticed her discomfort and changed the subject.
Once the crowd around Marco had thinned out, the four of them went over to greet him.
Marco stared at Trevor, instantly.
“It’s nice to finally meet the Trevor Martin of TM.” He drawled.
Trevor’s eyes dilated and he felt like doing a victory dance.
Marco knew his company?!
He must surely be interested in investing in him!
Trevor took the opportunity to introduce Mabel, hoping to build a closer relationship with Marco and discuss future collaborations.
Marco then posed two professional questions he wanted to ask Mabel as the new vice president of TM.
Mabel couldn’t understand Marco’s questions at all.
She could only awkwardly say she’d think about them and contact him later with the answers.
Marco readily agreed.
Afterward, people kept coming over to chat with him.
He paid no further attention to Trevor, who had no choice but to lead his group out in embarrassment.
Tristan, feeling resentful, accused Marco of looking down on people, but Dante warned him to watch his words.
They wouldn’t want anyone to hear that.

After getting into the car, Trevor asked Mabel for her thoughts on Marco’s question.
Mabel who had quickly googled it when they got into the car, explained the approach she’d found online to Trevor.
After listening, Trevor felt relieved and thought she might have just been too nervous in Marco’s presence.
He was quite an intimidating man.
Trevor drove Mabel back to her apartment, got out of the car himself to open the door for her, and drove away after saying goodbye.
At a red light, he couldn’t help but think that if Daphne were here, she would surely be able to answer Marco’s question in no time.
Daphne had met so many clients and businessmen while building his company and not once did she cower in fear.
Without realizing it, Trevor drove to the building where Daphne lived.
He called her but she didn’t pick up at first so he kept calling.
Finally, she answered.
“What do you want?” She began, coldly.
He winced.
She was still mad.
“I was wondering if you or Susan were still up.
I would like to visit her.”
“It’s not convenient for you to visit my mom, Trevor.
And it’s also not convenient for you to call me anymore.”
“Oh come on, you haven’t even given me a chance to hear what I have to say.”
Daphne scoffed.
“You have nothing tangible to say.”
“Anyway, your break is over already.
I know you’re mad at me but you have to separate our personal lives from work.
You have to come back to work.
And I have something important to discuss with you.”
Daphne sighed and agreed, saying she would come by the next day.

The next day, Daphne arrived at TM early, hoping to finish her resignation procedures quickly so as not to delay SG’s work.
She went to the Human Resources department first.
The HR staff were gossiping about Trevor and Mabel.
When they saw Daphne walk in, they immediately stopped talking, and everyone felt awkward.
Daphne went straight to the HR manager to request the resignation handover form and the resignation certificate, explaining that she had already discussed the matter with Trevor.
The HR manager was surprised and felt sympathy for Daphne’s situation, but still printed the forms as requested, asking Daphne to fill them out and return them before the end of the workday.
