Aria’s Pov
”That’s her,” a voice whispered.
“Who?” My lips moved.
But they pressed on like they couldn’t hear me,
”The monster’s daughter.” fingers jabbed at me.
“She looks just like him, a family of monsters” another voice added.
“Monster.”
”Let’s burn her alive.
She should pay for her father’s sins” the first encouraged, voice growing louder.
“No” I shook my head, looking around, what was going on?
Where am I?
Who was the monster?
Just then a light lit up, no, the sky above me lit up, I was surrounded by mangled faces, faces I had never seen before.
“She should be slaughtered,” one said with a creepy smile.
I took a subconscious step back, who were these people?
Where was Cain?
“Her father destroyed our families” I heard a familiar voice, looking up I saw Mika, glaring at me hatefully, like she would tear me apart at any second.
I swallowed nothing, “Mika” I whispered.
But they couldn’t hear me, not with the hollow look in their eyes, they all had one expression, blank face with a bit of red trailing down the corner of their lips, and a creepy wide smile on their lips.
It stretched to their ears.
I shrank backwards, “I’m not Theron” I insisted, heart trembling.
They closed in on me from all sides, fingers jabbing, eyes murderous. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
Just as they raised their hands to attack my eyes flung open with a loud gasp.
Shit.
My back was drenched with sweat, beads of it were already on my forehead waiting to drip, I pushed myself upwards trying to calm my raking heart.
My legs felt numb, well there was only one control freak responsible for this, and he’d better think twice if he believed I left a frying pan to fall into fire.
I was done letting others control me, I’m leaving this room today and he can’t stop me.
I flexed my arms, it was a bit lighter compared to earlier, Bones had run a quick check up confirming that I just needed a little bed rest which somehow turned into an exaggerated prison situation.
My mind flashed back to Mika’s words, the look on their faces whenever Father is mentioned.
Did he really slaughter their families?
I knew he was cruel but going that far?
Would he do something so unjust?
Deep down I knew the kind of man he was, but I still couldn’t bring myself to reconcile with it.
Sigh.
I had to figure out exactly what he did, exactly why Cain turned out hating me this badly, it couldn’t be just Elena right?
The door creaked open, followed by heavy footsteps, the room was soon filled with the scent of musk and rain, a scent I was becoming increasingly acquainted with.
His silver pupils drew me in instantly, I took him in, leather jackets, singlet, black pants and boots, my brows furrowed on sighting the gloves on him.
Since when did he begin wearing one?
Certainly not when I held his hand over my father’s subconscious body.
A very satisfying thing by the way.
I felt my cheeks redden, damn, not now, not while he was studying me like I was worth something. The source of this chapter is g.com.
I looked away, “You locked me up, Alpha” I grumbled, trying to take my mind off him.
“You need to rest, it won’t be good if my hostage dies before fulfilling her use.” He shrugged casually.
All my giddiness disappeared instantly, right into thin air, “you’re quite desirable until you open your mouth” I snapped, fuming.
How dare he?
He cocked an eyebrow, “You find me desirable?”
I blushed furiously, realizing what I just said, looking away I scoffed, “Keep flattering yourself.”
He chuckled, a deep rumble, “I came to check on you little one.”
I rolled my eyes, what a liar, “Came to check if your hostage still had any more use?”
”Can’t have you dying on me now can we?”
”Sorry to disappoint Alpha, but I’m not so easily gotten rid off” I clapped back, then continued, “You don’t need to pretend to care, don’t visit just to keep up appearances either.”
His jaw ticked but he quickly regained composure, then closing the gap between us, he stared down at me eyes narrowing,
”For a little thing, you have a sharp tongue.” There was a hint of fondness in his eyes, the kind he always had whenever he tussled my hair as a kid or when he threw my giggling self in the air, with Elena laughing at our gimmicks.
Something burned in me, I wasn’t the innocent little girl from back then “I’m not little,” I snarled.
“Easy kitty, don’t bite more than you can chew.”
”Careful Alpha, even a kitten has claws, won’t want to accidentally scratch you.” I blinked innocently, giving him my most clueless look.
He looked at me like a kid throwing a tantrum, “I didn’t come here to play games little one, I came for something else.”.
Something ugly hit my heart, I knew he didn’t come because he cared, but hearing him say it out loud tasted like ash, forcing myself still I pressed on, “And why did you visit Alpha?” I finally asked.
“Come in,” he said.
The knob turned and a figure entered looking like he’d be anywhere but here.
Stanley.
I watched them, wondering what was going on.
Cain stepped aside for him while he came to stand before me carrying a grim look on his face, like the world wronged him.
I gave Cain a questioning look but his face was blank, completely ignoring me.
Stanley bowed, his knuckles clenched tightly, I could see the white in them from where I lay, his eyes shone with unwillingness but his lips still moved.
“I’m sorry for how I spoke earlier, I was angry and I let my emotions get the best of me.”
With that he stood erect and walked out, Cain followed behind him none waiting for my response, the door shut behind them with a loud thud.
Still fixed on where they stood, I couldn’t help asking.
“What just happened?”
