"The heck is this skill?"
"I have never heard of it. What kind of skill is it?"
The two expressed their surprise, but made sure to keep the name out of the conversation. They must've been wary of eavesdropping, and I was grateful for that.
Then again, I was pretty sure all the curiosity would evaporate like it never existed if they knew the skill was just some joke. Since I didn't reveal it, the other two decided to follow the suit.
"This kind..."
So, instead of explaining, I tapped on the skill section of the status board, and showed them the explanation, visible only to them.
—«Friend Gacha»: Acquire 1 point for each greeting (※You may only acquire one point in a day from same person).
—When there's at least 10 points, an exclusive gacha will be available to spin once.
"No, really, the heck kind of skill is that?!"
"I have never been so lost as I am now."
I know, right? Even I was left confused when I first read the details.
"I could show you the practical effect, but this isn't the right place."
"Ah, you're right. Alright, show that in recess."
"Stiffling, but understandable~."
Despite showing his disappointment, Akihito's expression betrayed his excitement. He seemed to have wanted to know immediately, but was trying to hold himself back.
Even I was holding back my urge to give it a spin. So, I hope he didn't inquire further.
.

And the recess came in the blink of an eye. We turned to the second school building—it housed the special-purpose classes.
"Hurry up. I am dying to see its effect."
"Somehow, it feels you’re more excited than me, its user."
"Obviously. Heck, I was so distracted by it I didn't even hear what teachers taught."
"Woah, at least don't let it affect your studies?!"
"Eh, who cares. Just show what it is."
Damn, this guy really didn't put classes in his eyes. Ah well, whatever.
"Alright. Here I start then—«Friend Gacha»."
Seeing Akihito was on the verge of losing control, I invoked my skill. Immediately, a smartphone—it looked just like the one I had—appeared in my hand.
"Souta, are you sure there's no problem using skill here?"
"It's fine. I showed it to Adventurer Union's staff, and assessed it as Third Order skill."
One thing about unique skills was these skills had no restriction in where it could be used. It was unlike the normal skills that one acquired after reaching level 1, as they couldn't be used anywhere besides the dungeon.
Needless to say, these unique skills could also be offensive in nature, and using them in the city could pose a problem. Hence, Adventurer Union would assess if the unique skill was a threat to use in public, and if it was deemed not a threat, they would not put a ban.
"Third Order? So it's completely harmless, huh."
The assessment could lead to one of the three judgments—First Order, Second Order, and Third Order. Unless stated otherwise, or granted special permission, First Order skills were absolutely banned from using anywhere beside dungeons.
Second Order depends on the type and effect of skill. A skill could've multiple effects, so if the holder could show they're capable of using skill for specific effect at will, some of them could be allowed to access in public.
And then comes the Third Order judgement. There was nothing to say here. They're completely harmless and used at will anytime.
"You can say that. It's like, limited version of Item Box... wait, I think Random Box is more fitting?"
"I am not following you at all, man."
"Just look at it."
I showed them the smartphone screen, materialised from my skill.
"......It's gacha."
"Sure is gacha~."
The smartphone's screen was displaying a familiar view. In the dead centre of the screen, "Friend Gacha" hovered in big, bold letters. Below it were two buttons—«Spin 1 time», and «Spin 10 times».
"It is as I showed you in the explanation box of skill. I can spin gacha one time if I have 10 points. There's also one rare item guaranteed to drop at 10 spins."
"It's plain gacha."
"Yeah. So, what does it exactly drop?"
"Well... just look at the logs. These are all the items I acquired when I was testing it yesterday."
I said while swiping the smartphone screen, switching from gacha screen to item list.
"Curry bread, apple pie, Cow Milk 250ml, Tea 250ml, overcoat, mask, gloves, shovel..... the heck I am looking at??"
"How to put it, this sure sounds like a list of everyday items. No, wait, there's one rare item too. Is this the prized drop?"
"Again, the heck is this... «Seed of Growth»?"
"Yeah, I don’t get it either. Give us an explanation, Souta.."
"I don't know."
" "Excuse me?" "
"I said I don't know. But putting aside that, I can materialize these items from Friend Gacha as well. See—"
I tapped on the «Cow Milk 250ml» icon on the screen. Suddenly, a cluster of light particles converged at my hand, and the tetra milk pack appeared.
"Heh, that's interesting. Since you managed to materialise it, is the reverse possible too?"
"Nope, not possible. Once the item is out, it can't be put back."
"Ah, no wonder you called it a random item box~."
"Still, that's one handy skill if you ask me. However I didn't follow how you don't know what that growth seed is. Didn't you have it appraised?"
"Of course, I did... or well, tried to. After materializing yakisoba bread during assessment, I also tried to materialize the «Seed of Growth» to test its effect, but this was the only thing I couldn't bring out."
I said, showing them the smartphone screen as I tapped on Growth Seed, But, unlike the milk packet, this time there was a notification on screen, saying "This items can't be materialised."
"I couldn't summon it, so they gave it a no-threat rating. I do have a hunch though, I should be able to use it when skill grows more. Anyway, this is the long and short explanation why I was going through the greeting round."
"......And you're going to do it every morning?"
"Of course. I might even do it on the weekend when I'm free."
"I salture to your steel psyche."
"I don't care as long as it's useful to me. I am going to get the point and spin my gacha!"
"There's no changing your mind, huh."
"Obviously, or I wouldn't have done that in the first place."
"Honestly, it's really awe inspiring how you're devoted to your gacha that you would do anything."
I mean, if there's a rare item in the mix, there ought to be some use to them!
Besides, these everyday items were actually a plus. This would allow me to save more for a proper sword. That's why, even if it was embarrassing as hell, it'd enough merit to do it.
