When Huo Jiuxiao hung up the communicator, he saw that the little fellow was sleeping soundly on his thigh, even emitting tiny little snoring sounds.

“Lazy and a foodie.”

Huo Jiuxiao poked him on the forehead, half-amused and half-exasperated.Full novel: Little Cat Demon Becomes a Viral Sensation in the Interstellar Era — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ruan Bai raised a small paw to bat his hand away, rolled over, and went right back to sleep.

When he woke up, he found himself in a completely unfamiliar place and felt a bit dazed.

His fur was slightly rumpled from sleep, and his large eyes were dewy, still tinged with a hint of bewilderment.

Huo Jiuxiao pushed the door open just in time to catch this sight. Stirred in his heart, he walked over and helped smooth down the kitten’s fur: “Are you hungry? I had some food prepared.”

Ruan Bai raised his fluffy head to rub against him, extending two small paws with pink paw pads resting against the man’s hand as he instinctively acted spoiled.

“Meow-aow~” Hungry.

Huo Jiuxiao naturally scooped him up and carried him out.

Ruan Bai poked his head out from the man’s embrace to curiously look around their surroundings.

All around them were numerous humans in black clothing walking back and forth, and the walls were made of a metallic material with a strong futuristic vibe. It looked very cool.

He actually sensed that he might have slept for a very, very long time. Even though humans were remarkably powerful, it was impossible for them to survive out in space over the span of a few decades.

Besides, Tree Demon Grandpa had been a tremendously formidable great demon, yet upon waking up, he couldn’t sense a single trace of Tree Demon Grandpa’s presence anymore.

Still, what’s done is done; one must adapt to their circumstances.

As a demon, he had long since viewed life and death with indifference, so he didn’t feel too overly emotional about these things.

While he was looking around curiously, those warriors were also sneaking glances back at him.

They saw a palm-sized kitten, snow-white all over, nestled obediently in their Marshal’s arms as it raised its head with curiosity to peer at its surroundings, its large, golden cat pupils overflowing with wonder.

So cute!!!

Noticing the fiery gazes directed their way, Huo Jiuxiao reached out to press the kitten’s little head back into his chest, casting a chilly sweep of his eyes over the men.

The warriors immediately busied themselves with whatever they were doing, stopping their wandering gazes at once.

Of course, that didn’t include Qin (Qin Lang) and the others.

“Hss, why is the Marshal’s gaze so fierce?” asked a tall man with a somewhat fierce appearance.

Qin Lang shrugged: “Where is this even coming from? Earlier, through the screen, the Marshal wouldn’t even let me look.”

“Tsk tsk, good grief, the Marshal isn’t raising a pet here; this posture is clearly raising a wife…”

“Meow-aow?” Ruan Bai struggled a bit in Huo Jiuxiao’s arms.

What is wrong with this human? You can’t press a cat’s head!

“Be a good boy, don’t move. I’m taking you to eat.” The man’s hand showed no sign of shifting as he soothingly pinched the back of the kitten’s neck.

Food, huh? Alright then.

With that thought, Ruan Bai found a more comfortable angle inside Huo Jiuxiao’s embrace and settled down to rest.

“We’re here.” Huo Jiuxiao carried him over to the dining table.

Ruan Bai curiously raised his head to look, seeing that the table was laden with a vast spread of seafood steamed crabs, giant prawns, and plenty of small dried fish.

Whoa, is this heaven?

Ruan Bai, who lost all ability to walk the moment he saw fish instantly wanted to lunge forward, only to be caught by the fate-sealed scruff of his neck.

That damned sense of familiarity; history always repeats itself in startling ways.jpg

He turned his head and let out a delicate, spoiled meow: “Meow-aow~”

Wanna eat fish~

Huo Jiuxiao proceeded to feed him the food on the table one piece at a time.

Huo Jiuxiao, enjoying the pleasure of feeding him, was in a wonderful mood.

When the little furball ate, it would use its two small paws to cup his hand, and its soft little pink tongue would lick against his fingers. As the furball drew closer, its soft little belly would brush against his hand, lifting his spirits without him even realizing it.

The kitten was also eating very happily.

Huo Jiuxiao seemed quite busy. After feeding him, he carried him back to the bedroom, shoved a top-tier energy crystal into his arms, and left.

Ruan Bai’s eyes instantly lit up. Snatching up the spiritual stone, he began gnawing away immediately, completely unaware of when Huo Jiuxiao had departed.

For a time, the only sound in the room was the “crunch, crunch” of the spiritual stone being chewed.

The spiritual stone, which was roughly the size of its entire body, was devoured clean before long.

Ruan Bai stared with a shocked expression at his own empty paws and let out a sigh.

Alas, it’s all eaten up.

Ruan Bai lay listlessly on the bed, rolling to the left, then rolling to the right.

Suddenly remembering the strange things outside, he stopped.

His curiosity thoroughly hooked, he could no longer stay still.

With a graceful carp leap, he sprang up and walked over to the door. Facing the heavy door, the kitten ran into a problem: Just how do you open this door?

Before he could figure out a solution, the door slid open on its own.

Ruan Bai: “?” Whatever, since the door is open, that means I can go outside!

However, remembering the human’s parting instructions to stay put and be a good boy, he felt a momentary twinge of guilt.

Still, it was the door that made the first move, so how could it be the cat’s fault?

With that thought in mind, he walked right out with zero psychological burden.
