The warriors performed their respective duties, and for a moment, truly no one noticed the palm-sized kitten.

With its tail held high, Ruan Bai swaggered proudly through the starship, acting just like a monarch inspecting his own territory.

If only he weren’t so tiny, the picture would have been far more convincing.Full novel: Little Cat Demon Becomes a Viral Sensation in the Interstellar Era — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Mm.

What is this smell? So stinky!

His pointed ears twitched, and his little black nose moved up and down, sniffing intently to distinguish the scent.

Ruan Bai rapidly sprinted toward the source of the odor.

His tiny body moved with extreme speed, resembling a bolt of white lightning as he slipped by without alerting a single soul.

Ruan Bai arrived at a rather dim, secluded area, where his nose was instantly inundated with a heavy stench of mold and mildew.

He twitched his pointed little ears, the surroundings plunged in absolute dead silence.

Suddenly, Ruan Bai darted toward a certain corner. Extending five sharp claws from his pink paw pads, he swiftly delivered a swipe to the dark shadow.

“Ah! What is that?!” A terrified shriek rang out as the figure managed a tremendously difficult dodge to evade Ruan Bai’s second claw.

The missed swipe landed directly against the starship’s wall, producing a sharp, metallic screech of claws scraping over steel as five deep gouges were carved into the surface.

Having missed his first strike, Ruan Bai whirled around instantly to seek another opening.

He could never mistake this: the human before him radiated a suffocating, dark, and gloomy aura entirely composed of demonic energy.

He detested this aura intensely, as if the hatred were carved straight into the depths of his soul.

Ruan Bai lunged forward and delivered several more swipes directly at the figure’s body, channeling his spiritual energy into his palms as he sent the creature flying with a single slap right into the wall the kind of impact where you couldn’t even pry them back off.

Only after finishing all this did he squat down on the ground, fixing a deadly glare on the human hanging from the wall while raising his paws to begin scrubbing furiously.

Wuu

His paws had actually touched such a demonic-energy-leaking creature; he was no longer pure.

Lick it clean, lick it clean.

While the little furball was frantically licking its fur to wash its paws, down in the starship’s temporary prison holding area, the commotion stirred up by the incident alerted the Marshal, who was currently in the middle of a meeting.

When he arrived accompanied by a contingent of high-ranking officers, this was precisely the scene that greeted them.

The various legion commanders who had fought numerous victorious battles alongside Marshal Huo wore expressions of shock. What on earth had happened here? Was there an enemy attack?

Just as a variety of conspiracy theories ran wild in their minds, the utterly disfigured person embedded into the wall began to wail miserably. “Marshal, save me! I don’t know what’s wrong with this cat of yours, it just came at me and attacked…”

Huo Jiuxiao stared down at him with a cold, gloomy gaze, uttering not a single word.

Instead, the generals beside him flatly refused to believe it, chiming in one after another: “If you’re going to make up an excuse, at least come up with a believable one. Why don’t you claim the starship attacked you instead?”

“Could there be an enemy raid? Spill the truth right now! Even if you’re facing defeat, you shouldn’t resort to such absurd excuses, right?”

“Simply preposterous…”

Ruan Bai was so angry his fur stood entirely on end. This demon was utterly shameless, still twisting black and white right at this moment.

Furious, he sprang up and darted swiftly toward the fellow, channeling his spiritual energy into his palms. With a powerful push from his hind legs, he slammed his paw right down on the guy’s head.

An elegant backflip, and he landed to perfection.

The generals: “…”

All they had seen was a flash of white light, and then a fluffy little milk-kitten placing its paw firmly on that person’s head.

That kitten moved remarkably fast.

“Wait, look over there,” one of the generals said in a cold voice.

They pulled their gazes away from the little milk-kitten, only to see a gigantic spider plastered against the wall.

“A Zerg general.”

General (Peier / Per) spoke with an icy tone. A Zerg general was hiding right inside their starship, no one’s complexion could possibly look good upon hearing such news.

The person hanging on the wall was named Frank, someone forcefully shoved into the Thirteenth Legion by His Majesty. Knowing all along that this individual harbored ulterior motives, they had deliberately marginalized him the entire time.

When the Marshal’s mecha malfunctioned this time around, Frank was the very first person they suspected. Yet the investigation results indicated that the Marshal’s incident had nothing to do with him, leading them to drop their guard against him by a fraction or two.

Never in their wildest dreams did they expect the royal family to actually send them a Zerg general. If this were out on the battlefield, they wouldn’t even know how they died.

The officers present all felt a chill creeping up their spines. The royal family had actually colluded with the Zerg this time had their brains been kicked by a donkey?

Ruan Bai was completely oblivious to the turbulent storms raging within the minds of everyone present. Wagging his tail, he trotted over to tug at the Marshal’s trouser leg, raising his head to make squeaky, spoiled sounds of grievance toward Mr. Marshal.

Knowing that this little delicate creature was feeling distressed, Huo Jiuxiao bent down, scooped him up, and gently kneaded his little paws.

Soothing him in a soft voice: “Don’t be afraid, it’s over now.”

The generals: “…”

They looked up at the Zerg general stuck fast on the wall, unable to pull himself down, along with the bone-deep gashes on his body and those five deep claw marks scored into the metal.

Then they looked down at the few razor-sharp claw tips protruding slightly under their Marshal’s soothing massage over those soft little paw pads, feeling a sudden ache in their teeth.

“Take that thing down and lock it away,” General Peier ordered.

Soon enough, well-trained warriors stepped forward to pry the Zerg general out from the wall, before packing the giant spider limp as a dead dog into a specialized container and hauling it away.

Ruan Bai cared nothing for these matters. Nestled against Huo Jiuxiao’s body, he felt that something was amiss everywhere.

Clutching tightly at the clothing over the man’s chest with both small paw pads, he rubbed his head against him incessantly while making squeaky, pampered whimpering sounds.
