The emergence of Level Two professionals, in turn, drove the upgrade of territory characteristics.
One day later, Chen Ping completed the requirements for the territory's six major characteristics.
He decisively upgraded the Lord's Hall, and with a rumble,
The Lord's Hall expanded in place, becoming three stories high and covering an area of five hundred square meters.
It finally had a bit of grandeur.
His office area became a grand hall, with columns all around and mysterious patterns appearing on the dome.
Congratulations on upgrading to a Level Five Lord's Hall.
Please choose a development direction.
Balance: All things are balanced, harmonious with nature.
Might: All power is concentrated in the Lord himself; one is all, and all is one.
Order: Law and ritual coexist, the foundation of all things for all ages.
Holy: All things have an end, only gods are eternal and unchanging.
Four major development directions.
Chen Ping couldn't help but take a deep breath.
This was an important choice concerning the future direction of the territory, and also one of the most crucial tests for every territory.
It concerned the Lord's inner self, the Lord's ability, and the choice of future alignment.
Currently, among the Ten King Territories, there are two Holy Territories, one Balanced Territory, four Order Territories, and three Might Territories.
Once you choose one of these directions, you naturally choose a side.
And Chen Ping, ever since he transmigrated and became aware, had constantly been questioning his own direction.
What is called Might, in fact, is tyranny.
And Order, is the path of a dynasty.
As for Holy, it is similar to establishing a nation based on religion in his previous life, revering deities as supreme.
Only Balance, seemingly ordinary and vague, perfectly aligned with a certain philosophy of Chen Ping's former country.
The Golden Mean, the Way of Tai Chi.
Originally, Chen Ping was still hesitating between Balance and Order, but ever since he gained the Heaven Rewards Diligence talent, Chen Ping had actually made his decision.
"Balance."
【You will choose the Balance path. Are you sure?】
"Confirm."
【Lord direction selection complete. Balance is your core.】
Inside the Lord's Hall, the patterns on the dome twisted and transformed, finally forming a symbol of yin and yang in harmony.
At this point, all prerequisites for upgrading to a Level 5 territory were met!
Chen Ping chose to upgrade immediately!
At this time, only four days had passed since he upgraded to a Level 4 territory!
【Congratulations, you have met all requirements for a Level 5 territory】
【Chaos Sea Territory 07 has officially been promoted to a Level 4 territory】
【You are the 3rd Lord to be promoted to a Level 1 territory】
【Congratulations on achieving third place! You will receive a special treasure chest reward】
Third!
Chen Ping's heart skipped a beat.
He hadn't expected that even with his rapid promotion to Level 5, he was still only third?
"Of the first two, one is highly likely to be Lu Fei."
Chen Ping pondered slightly, muttering to himself.
As a Wang Prince, Lu Fei would undoubtedly possess far more resources than others.
After all, humanity currently only has the Ten King Territories, and Chen Ping didn't even know how vast the resources of a Wang were.
Textbooks provided very brief descriptions of territories above Earl Territory.
It seemed there was a taboo.
However, Chen Ping quickly recovered, because at this moment, the entire territory was undergoing tremendous changes.
The special effects brought by the promotion to Level 5 were far more dazzling than before.
Beams of light descended from the sky, illuminating the entire territory, making everything shimmer.
The exterior of all buildings underwent a corresponding sublimation.
Every resident felt their physical constitution strengthen.
Even the natural resources within the territory improved in quality under the illumination of the light.
Wasteland decreased, fertile land increased.
The Mist at the edge of the territory became thinner, vaguely revealing the existence of a coastline.
Mountains rose from the ground within the territory, and as they ascended, they also expanded the territory's area.
All residents knelt on the ground, facing the Lord's Hall.
They offered their most sincere respect to their Lord, Chen Ping.
Even Milan, at this moment, was on one knee, hand over her chest.
And as the territory changed, she also sensed the direction Chen Ping had chosen.
"Balance?"
"It's Balance, actually..."
Milan's face showed a thoughtful expression, recalling certain secrets hidden deep within.
But before she could recall them, those memories fell silent again, as if not allowing her to access them at this time.
Yet, even with such a brief surge of memories, the few fragments Milan gained were enough to make her solemn.
"Balance is the origin, but also the most difficult path..."
"Lord, are you prepared?"
Milan murmured to herself.
The light began to fade, replaced by a sky full of stars.
Every resident felt their mind clear, and certain changes were beginning to emerge within their bodies.
Soon after, they were seen jumping up one after another.
Milan looked up and found that those who jumped up had all upgraded their professions...
This scene astonished Milan.
As far as she knew, upgrading to a Level 5 territory, as the Lord's first major hurdle, would indeed bring some sublimation.
But such a large-scale promotion of residents could absolutely not be brought about solely by a Level 5 territory upgrade.
Among them, Chen Ping's Heaven Rewards Diligence must have also played a part.
The residents who had upgraded their professions were extremely excited, gathering outside the Lord's Hall.
As commoners, they had undergone the first transformation of their lives under Chen Ping.
This was a life-changing grace!
PS. Holy crap, I almost thought I was seeing things, which big shot threw over ten thousand flowers...
