Susu wandered aimlessly through the streets of Beijing. She had expected Ji Xiaoran to scold or even humiliate her, but to her surprise, the other woman was so gentle and noble. Her tone was unhurried, sounding more like she was guiding Susu. Susu also knew clearly that she couldn't be like Ji Xiaoran, able to tolerate Xin Che's repeated cheating. She walked alone for a long time, her mind uncontrollably picturing Xin Che and Ji Xiaoran standing together. The more she thought about it, the more she felt they were a perfect match.
When she took out her mobile phone, she saw that Xin Che had sent many messages. She only replied with one: "I'm very confused right now, let's not meet for now. I'm staying at a friend's place tonight and will go to the airport myself tomorrow. Please give me some time to be alone and clear my head."
Xin Che called back quickly, and Susu couldn't help but answer. He asked anxiously, "Where are you?"
Susu remained silent, and all that could be heard on the other end of the line was the sound of traffic rushing by on the road. He had no choice but to plead repeatedly, just to see her. By the end, his tone became firmer: "If you don't tell me where you are, I'll drive around all night until I find you."
Susu didn't insist any longer and told him her location. Before long, Xin Che drove over and picked her up, taking her to his new home. Upon arriving home, he asked Susu to sit on the sofa first, then went to the kitchen to get her a bottle of water. He asked softly, "You were walking on the street for over three hours?"
Susu responded with a soft "Mm."
Xin Che pulled her legs over to rest on his lap and began to massage them. He asked again, "What did she say to you, exactly?"
Susu mumbled softly, "I don't remember what she said... I just remember she was very beautiful."
Xin Che smiled, "I think you're even more beautiful."
Susu didn't believe him, but she felt a little relieved in her heart.
Seeing her like this, Xin Che leaned in and kissed her, wanting to show her with his body how much he liked her. Susu, however, dodged him. Xin Che sat up straight and tentatively asked, "Did she tell you—that I've cheated many times in the past, and you can't be as tolerant as she is?"
Susu nodded.
Xin Che explained, "There was indeed a special way of interacting between her and me. Every relationship is different, and we might not necessarily reach that point."
Susu's heart felt like a tangled mess. She wearily curled up on the sofa and closed her eyes. Xin Che, however, had no intention of letting her go. He got up and pulled her towards the bedroom, saying, "If you leave like this tomorrow, I won't feel at ease. Let me cherish you properly."
"Wait a moment..." Susu sat on the edge of the bed, tidying her clothes that he had disheveled. "What your girlfriend said isn't unreasonable. Perhaps she's the one who's more suitable for you. I can't be as tolerant as she is."
"Are you done?" Xin Che leaned over, pinning her beneath him. "I don't care, I want you right now."
Seeing his passion, Susu let him have his way. She could feel his earnestness, yet she couldn't fully engage—Ji Xiaoran's face, Ji Xiaoran's words, kept replaying in her mind.
Seeing her blank expression, Xin Che grumbled, "You're not going to cooperate with me at all today, are you?" He intended to pull away from her, but seeing his dejected look, Susu found it amusing. She wrapped her arms around his waist and whispered, "Don't stop, this feels good..."
