“Welcome back sir” Marcus said when Alex and Lynn arrived back at the house, Lynn had a frown on her face and the butler could guess that Alex had probably done something to annoy her.

Lynn was about to make her way upstairs when Alex stopped.

“I need to speak with you,” He said and walked away towards his study without waiting for her response.Full novel: Marrying Mr CEO: Be My Bride — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She sighed deeply and exchanged looks with the butler who smiled slightly at her.

She smiled back at him and quickly followed behind her future husband, Marcus still standing in the same spot and staring at the couple.

Lynn was still mad about the fact that Alex had bought her workplace without telling her, it was as if he was forcing her to quit even after she had told him she wasn’t going to.

Did Rachel know about it already?

or did she have to explain herself

“We are going down to the courthouse tomorrow to get legally married,” Alex said as soon as Lynn walked into his office and her heart dropped.

“What?” She said and swallowed, her heart beating quickening.

Alex would have waited till after the wedding but he couldn’t afford an incident that could ruin everything happening.

He wanted everything to be sorted out quickly and efficiently without any errors.

The sooner the better, but when he turned to look at Lynn, she looked completely stunned, her light brown eyes filled with a hint of fear and anxiousness.

She fisted her hand beside her and slowly looked up at him. Get faster updates on g.com.

Her heart racing like crazy in her chest.

“Isn’t that too fast?” She said in a low voice, but Alex shook his head.

“No, it’s not, you agreed to it already and if you want to back out, you can now before it’s too late. I have a contract ready for you to sign” Alex declared and Lynn’s heartbeat quickened even more.

“A contract?” She muttered, but Alex heard her.

He walked over to his table and picked up the documents that he had asked James to make.

He held one copy and handed the other copy to Lynn who looked super nervous now as she stretched out her hand and hesitantly took the document from him.

Her fingers trembling a little bit.

“I have all my conditions and yours written inside, if you are not okay with any of it we can talk and decide on a way to handle it” He explained and she nodded slowly, her eyes travelling to the documents in her hand.

Her mind trying to convince her that she wasn’t going to regret doing this and it was for her benefit.

“You can take your time, but I need to know your response by tonight, if you want this because after tomorrow there is no turning back for the both of us” Both their eyes locked for a moment.

Alex staring Deep into her eyes trying to read her, Lynn doing the same.

Was that all it was for him?

or was he hiding something from her.

“Okay,” Lynn said in a low voice and turned to leave, but she stopped in her tracks when she was about to walk back out the door and said to him “Thank you for today, I love the dress” This chapter was taken from novelping(.)com without permission.

Alex nodded and watched as she walked away, his calm demeanour dissipating as soon as he could no longer see her.

He let out the deepest sigh and ran his hand through his brown hair.

His eyes filled with anxiousness now.

He walked over to the table where he kept a bottle of whiskey and was about to pour himself a drink when a knock on the door interrupted his actions.

It was Marcus his butler “I don’t think she has a clue” Alex said when Marcus walked into his office, he poured himself a glass and drank it all in one go.

“She doesn’t know her father worked for my father, if she did I don’t think she would be able to do this” He continued, a glint of softness passing through his cold eyes.

“Are you feeling guilty for not telling her about it?” Marcus asked and Alex turned to look at his butler a slight smile on his face “Does my feelings matter, has it ever mattered and wouldn’t I be at a disadvantage if she finds out” Alex scoffed and poured himself another drink, his eyes filled with anger now.

“From what I remember sir after what happened between your father and Fredrick, i heard his wife left him Maybe she took her daughter with her and she didn’t get to know her father” Marcus said but Alex shook his head.

“no she didn’t, she left her with that bastard!” Alex had been a bit shocked when he found out about Lynn’s financial status and how she had been struggling to make ends meet even before Frederick died.

Her life had been really hard and even though he was mad at her father for his betrayal, he knew it wasn’t her fault, that was what troubled him because she was getting roped into a mess that she knew nothing about and he didn’t even dare to tell her about it.

Alex was about to take another drink when Marcus held his glass stopping him.

“We are going to the courthouse tomorrow. She is going to become my wife” Alex said to his butler who looked a little taken aback by how fast Alex had come to such a decision.

“Are you sure about this sir?” Marcus asked, his eyes filled with concern.

“No I’m not, but I have to do it… she is going to get rewarded Anyways so I have no reason to feel guilty” Alex’s cold demeanour slowly returned like always, masking away his feelings which Marcus was way too familiar with.

The butler decided to give him some space and say nothing more even though he was worried about what the future held for the couple.
