“This is an X-ray imaging machine. There’s only one in the entire world, and it’s right here at Oscorp. ”
Gwen introduced the machine to everyone.
“What is that?”
A black student wearing glasses pointed toward a small machine beside them.
“This is a Canary device. Its principle is very simple. Once you load it with an antigen, it can produce a medicinal mist capable of covering an entire area, or even an entire city. ”
Sean recognized it immediately.
This was the machine the Lizard would eventually use to infect the entire city.
“In theory, it could cure polio throughout the city in a single afternoon. ”
Gwen continued explaining.
“Someone once suggested that if poison were loaded into this device, no one would be able to escape a poisonous mist covering an entire city. That’s why its use is prohibited, and it has been left here to collect dust. ”
“The terrorists’ favorite toy. ”
Sean looked at the Canary device and muttered under his breath.
Unfortunately, Gwen, who was standing closest to him, heard him and shot him a glare.
“Heh heh. Please, continue. ”
Sean immediately shut his mouth, gestured for her to continue, and took a step backward.
Seeing that Sean was being sensible, Gwen ignored him and continued introducing the various pieces of equipment to the interns.
Once the interns’ tour finally came to an end, Sean had some free time.
He walked over to the side, curiously watching the scientists at work.
“Sean, don’t go wandering around everywhere. It’s not like you’re interested in science. ”
Gwen noticed Sean bothering the staff and hurried over to stop him.
“Who says I’m not interested in science?
I feel like everything around me is completely unscientific.
That’s exactly why I’m interested in these scientific things.
“Sean argued back.
“Heh. Then where’s our science-loving classmate Parker?”
Gwen suddenly noticed that Parker was nowhere to be seen.
“Uh… he went to the bathroom. I heard he’s been constipated lately. After seeing all the science he loves, he got so excited that everything suddenly started working again. ”
If Parker ever found out what Sean had said about him, would he beat him to death?
“He really does love science. ”
Gwen looked at Sean speechlessly.
“Yep. He really does. ”
Sean’s excuse worked surprisingly well.
They eventually finished touring nearly all of the laboratories, and Gwen didn’t ask where
Parker had gone again.
Gwen led the group back to the technology exhibition hall.
Parker walked over from the side with a serious expression on his face.
Gwen noticed him and walked over.
“Done using the bathroom?”
“Huh?”
Parker was still thinking about what he had just discovered when Gwen suddenly questioned him.
He looked at her in confusion.
“Hey, Parker. You weren’t here because you went to the bathroom, remember? I already explained it to Gwen. ”
Sean walked behind Gwen and repeatedly raised his eyebrows at Parker.
Parker’s intelligence hadn’t abandoned him.
He quickly realized that Sean was covering for him.
He gave Sean a grateful look before turning toward Gwen.
“Yeah, I’m done.
“Parker had no idea that Sean had told Gwen he was constipated.
Otherwise, he probably wouldn’t have been so grateful.
“Uh… well, congratulations, then. Give me your badges. ”
Gwen held out her hand toward Sean and Parker.
“???”
Why was she congratulating me?
Parker was confused, but he didn’t dare ask.
He was afraid of exposing himself.
So he obediently handed over his badge. New chapters come out on g.com first.
Sean cooperated as well and handed his over.
Once Gwen had the badges, she didn’t even bother looking at them.
She simply turned around and left.
She hadn’t exposed them.
Instead, she’d allowed them to continue looking around.
She was doing it for the sake of being classmates.
She still had other things to take care of and couldn’t be bothered dealing with them.
“Ah!”
Sean noticed the spider bite Parker on the neck.
The birth of a great hero, Spider-Man, had officially been announced.
Sean desperately resisted the urge to take out his phone and snap a picture.
Gwen, who was walking ahead, quickly turned around when she heard Parker cry out.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. He just needs to use the bathroom again. You know how it is when you’ve been holding it in for too long. Heh heh. ”
Sean explained it to Gwen.
Gwen nodded with an understanding expression before turning around and walking away.
Parker, whose neck was still hurting from the bite, hadn’t heard their conversation. He simply followed Sean out of Oscorp.
“Sean, what did you just say to Gwen?”
“Nothing. I told her I’d buy her a meal. ”
“Oh, right… Wait! Didn’t you say earlier that I was supposed to buy her a big meal?!”
Parker exclaimed in surprise.
“I’m giving you an opportunity. Don’t worry about it. Where did you go just now?”
Sean smoothly changed the subject.
“Uh, nowhere. I got so absorbed in looking at things that I ended up getting separated from everyone. I was trying to find the group. ”
Parker successfully fell for the change of subject and lied to Sean.
“I was wondering why you suddenly disappeared. ”
Sean didn’t expose him.
Instead, he gave Parker a meaningful look.
