From the outside, Roy looked no different today than he had yesterday.
But in reality, he was already a completely different person.
Setting aside the fact that the soul inside the body had changed, even his physical attributes had improved significantly.
Roy clearly remembered that when he first opened his status panel that morning, his highest physical attribute—Strength—had only been a little over 4.
Now, his Strength had already risen to 13.3.
His other three attributes—Speed, Constitution, and Spirit—had also increased by roughly threefold.
In other words, his current physical attributes were already close to what the original Roy had possessed after activating his mutant ability, Blazing Heat.
Neither Morgan nor Storm, Cyclops, or anyone else could possibly imagine that Roy’s physical attributes had improved so dramatically.
Ignoring Morgan’s taunts, Roy simply took off his jacket and tossed it aside.
Seeing this, Morgan followed suit and removed his own jacket before giving his lackeys a look, signaling them to stand aside and watch.
Although Roy and Morgan hadn’t started fighting yet, their confrontation immediately drew the attention of the surrounding students.
Before long, the students who had been freely practicing their abilities gathered around them.
Once Storm and Cyclops noticed the crowd forming, they quickly made their way over as well.
Although students were allowed to spar during training class, not everyone was permitted to fight each other freely.
Students like Iceman Bobby and Pyro John, for example, were not allowed to do so.
In fact, only students whose mutant abilities were physical enhancement types were allowed to spar against one another during class.
If a student possessed an ability involving energy manipulation or projection, Storm, Cyclops, and the other teachers would stop them even if both sides wanted to fight.
When they saw that the two students preparing to spar were Roy and Morgan, Storm and Cyclops said nothing, silently allowing it.
However, they didn’t leave.
Although a spar between Roy and Morgan was unlikely to become life-threatening, as teachers, Storm and Cyclops still needed to remain nearby in case something unexpected happened.
Roy didn’t attack immediately.
Instead, he calmly studied Morgan’s contemptuous expression while searching through the few memories he had inherited from the original owner of the body.
Among those fragmented memories, he recalled Morgan’s mutant ability.
Strength and constitution far beyond those of an ordinary person!
Morgan’s ability wasn’t particularly powerful, but it wasn’t weak either.
Physical enhancement abilities were hardly rare among mutants.
In fact, they could even be considered fairly ordinary.
After remembering Morgan’s ability, Roy also recalled a few less important details.
For example, why Morgan looked down on “him” so much.
There were two reasons.
The first was that Roy was Chinese-American.
The second was his mutant ability.
There wasn’t much to say about the first reason.
Morgan had grown up in America and was also a mutant, and he had developed certain white-supremacist and mutant-supremacist tendencies.
At present, there were only two Chinese-American students at the mutant school.
One was Roy.
The other was Clarice.
Clarice was a girl—and a beautiful one at that.
Although Morgan looked down on people of other ethnic backgrounds, attractive girls were apparently an exception.
Aside from Roy’s ethnicity, his mutant ability, Blazing Heat, also irritated Morgan.
Once Roy activated Blazing Heat, he could temporarily gain Strength and Constitution comparable to Morgan’s.
In Morgan’s eyes, someone like Roy didn’t deserve to possess that kind of power.
Not even temporarily.
Seeing Roy remain where he was, calmly sizing him up, Morgan didn’t hesitate.
Like a cheetah pouncing on its prey, he charged straight at Roy.
Unlike Roy’s Blazing Heat, Morgan’s mutant ability didn’t need to be deliberately activated.
As long as he was alive, it remained active at all times.
In the blink of an eye, Morgan reached Roy and threw a right straight punch directly at his head.
It was a simple attack.
Just an ordinary straight punch.
But backed by strength and speed far beyond those of a normal person, even such a basic strike carried considerable power.
However, before Morgan’s fist could reach Roy, Roy struck first.
Bang!
Under the watchful eyes of Storm, Iceman, and the others, the charging Morgan was kicked clean off his feet by Roy and sent flying several meters backward.
After sending Morgan flying with a single kick, Roy shook his head in disappointment.
That’s it?
He had expected Morgan to possess at least some decent fighting skills.
Reality proved he had expected too much.
Morgan’s straight punch had looked fairly textbook, almost like something a professional boxer might throw.
But it only looked good.
Morgan had never imagined that despite being the one to attack first, he would be the one sent flying by Roy’s kick.
The kick wasn’t enough to seriously injure him.
What Morgan truly couldn’t tolerate was being kicked away by Roy in front of so many people.
Damn it!
Damn it!
Damn it!
After regaining his footing, Morgan glared furiously at Roy.
Then, like a rampaging beast, he charged at him again.
Seeing the rage on Morgan’s face, Roy’s opinion of him dropped even further.
He can’t even handle this much?
His mental fortitude is terrible.
While silently mocking Morgan, Roy calmly dodged his attacks.
Morgan attacked Roy with everything he had, but no matter how wildly he swung his fists, he couldn’t land a single hit.
Compared to Morgan’s furious expression, Roy was almost absurdly calm.
Roy might not have been a martial arts master, but compared to Morgan, who had already let anger cloud his judgment, he undoubtedly had far more practical experience.
Before transmigrating, Roy had been quite interested in combat sports and had even enrolled in formal training for a period of time.
Sanda, boxing, Muay Thai, taekwondo—he had become fairly proficient in all of them.
The kick he had used to send Morgan flying earlier was a front push kick from Sanda.
As for the techniques he was currently using to evade Morgan’s attacks, they were boxing slips, weaving movements, and pullbacks.
They were all common techniques, but they were more than enough to deal with Morgan.
The surrounding students couldn’t really tell what was happening, but Cyclops recognized it immediately.
“Did Roy train in boxing before?” Recognizing Roy’s evasive movements and footwork, Cyclops turned to Storm and asked.
“I don’t think so.
There’s nothing about that in the records he submitted.” Storm shook her head.
“If I’m not mistaken, he’s been training for quite a while.” “Morgan is going to lose.
The gap in technique between them is too large.” Cyclops continued.
“Not necessarily.
Roy’s Blazing Heat can only last three minutes.
Once the time is up, his strength and speed will drop significantly.” “Morgan only needs to hold out for those three minutes.” Compared to Roy, Storm still favored Morgan.
“Morgan won’t last three minutes.” “Don’t tell me you can’t see that Roy is toying with him right now.” “Other than that first kick, Roy hasn’t counterattacked even once.” “He knows better than anyone that his mutant ability can’t last very long, yet he’s still choosing to dodge instead of attacking.” “It’s not hard to guess what that means.” Cyclops smiled.
“This kid is interesting.”
