No matter why Roy and Morgan had gotten into a fight, Cyclops didn’t think too much of it.
They were both still minors, and mutants at that.
It wasn’t particularly strange for two teenagers with superpowers to end up fighting over something.
Although fighting was strictly forbidden at the mutant school, Cyclops knew perfectly well that such a rule could only ensure that students settled their disputes in relatively peaceful ways.
If they truly wanted to eliminate conflicts altogether, Professor X would have to use his powers to brainwash every student.
Professor X was certainly capable of making everyone at the school love one another like family through telepathic conditioning.
But obviously, Professor X would never do such a thing.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Morgan continued his frenzied assault.
Yet no matter how wildly he swung his fists, he still couldn’t hit Roy.
As time passed, the surrounding students gradually realized that something was wrong.
Roy wasn’t counterattacking, but anyone who looked at the calm, relaxed expression on his face could tell that it wasn’t because he couldn’t fight back.
He was deliberately toying with Morgan.
The students watching from the sidelines certainly didn’t have Cyclops’s eye for combat, so they hadn’t immediately recognized what Roy was doing.
But they weren’t idiots either.
If they still couldn’t tell after watching for this long, then they really would have been hopelessly stupid.
Soon, three minutes passed.
Just as everyone expected Roy to lose the enhancement provided by Blazing Heat and finally become unable to evade Morgan’s attacks so effortlessly, Roy made his move.
Roundhouse kick!
Roy’s right leg snapped upward, his lower leg sweeping horizontally toward Morgan’s head with astonishing force.
Bang!
In an instant, Roy’s shin slammed into the side of Morgan’s head.
Morgan had never expected Roy to counterattack at that moment.
Even if he had, he still wouldn’t have been able to dodge it.
The roundhouse kick Roy had just used was one of taekwondo’s most fundamental practical kicking techniques, but backed by strength and constitution far beyond those of an ordinary person, it carried tremendous power.
Morgan also possessed superhuman physical durability.
Even so, the moment Roy’s shin struck his head, it felt as though someone had smashed him across the skull with a metal baseball bat.
The tremendous force of the kick didn’t just cause intense pain.
It also destroyed his balance and sent him crashing uncontrollably to the ground.
Again!
After being kicked away at the start of the fight, Morgan had once again been knocked down by Roy.
Not only that, but he now felt horribly dizzy, almost as if he were drunk.
The first time Roy had kicked him, the blow had landed on his chest.
It had still hurt badly, but being struck in the chest was completely different from being kicked in the head.
After flooring Morgan with a textbook roundhouse kick, Roy didn’t immediately follow up.
Beating down someone who was already on the ground might have been satisfying, but Roy knew Cyclops and Storm would never stand by and let him do that.
If Morgan fell and Roy continued attacking him, the two teachers would immediately step in.
So Roy gave Morgan time to stand back up.
Because as long as Morgan was still standing and hadn’t surrendered, Roy could keep attacking him.
Morgan had no idea that Roy had already planned all of this out.
The moment Morgan regained his footing and raised both fists again, Roy stepped forward and closed the distance.
Jab.
Hook.
Rear straight.
Horizontal hook.
Uppercut.
One-two combination.
Roy held nothing back.
Treating Morgan like a human punching bag, he repeatedly drove his fists into the other boy’s body.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
The dull impacts echoed like war drums, carrying across the lawn and into the ears of every student watching.
Because Morgan possessed a constitution far beyond that of an ordinary person, Roy didn’t have to worry about accidentally killing him with a few punches.
Morgan certainly tried to dodge and counterattack while Roy was pummeling him.
Unfortunately, neither his experience nor his technique was good enough to let him do so.
His intentions were admirable.
Reality was much crueler.
The only thing Morgan could do now was keep his arms raised and protect his head as much as possible, desperately trying to avoid getting his face beaten black and blue.
By this point, anyone with working eyes could see that Roy had gained an overwhelming advantage.
Forget fighting back—Morgan was already struggling just to defend himself.
If seeing Morgan get beaten so one-sidedly had already exceeded the surrounding students’ expectations, what truly baffled them now was Roy’s current condition.
It was no secret within the school that Roy’s mutant ability, Blazing Heat, could only last three minutes.
By now, those three minutes had long since passed.
Yet Roy’s strength had not decreased at all.
If anything, he seemed to be getting stronger.
After battering Morgan with standard boxing combinations for nearly two minutes, Roy finally decided it was time to end the spar.
Under everyone’s gaze, despite already holding an overwhelming advantage, he took half a step back.
First, he pulled his rear hand—his right fist—back slightly.
Then he gathered all of his strength and drove that fist straight into Morgan’s chest.
A heavy punch!
Bang!
Morgan, who had been focused entirely on protecting his head, didn’t even have time to react before Roy’s right fist struck his chest like a cannonball.
First came an agonizing burst of pain.
Then Morgan’s entire body was sent flying uncontrollably backward.
After sailing several meters through the air, he crashed heavily onto the grass and completely lost consciousness.
The moment Roy drew back his right fist, Cyclops had felt that something was wrong.
But before he could say anything to stop him, Roy had already unleashed the powerful punch that brought the spar to an end.
Cyclops and Storm immediately hurried over to Morgan and checked his condition.
“Nothing serious.
Just one broken rib.” After examining Morgan’s injuries, Cyclops quickly gave his assessment.
Storm nodded, then turned to Morgan’s lackeys.
“Take Morgan to the infirmary immediately.” After saying that, she walked over to Roy and looked at him with obvious displeasure.
“You went too far.” “Too far?” “I’m not sure what you mean, Ms.
Ororo.” Roy asked in return.
“You’re classmates.
This was only a sparring match during training class, yet you broke one of your classmate’s ribs.
Don’t you think that was excessive?” Storm’s already displeased expression became even more severe.
“So what you mean is that it would’ve been fine if Morgan injured me, but it’s unacceptable for me to injure Morgan.
Is that it?” Roy had originally intended to show Storm some respect.
After all, she was his teacher.
Letting her lecture him a little wouldn’t have mattered.
But after hearing her tone, Roy responded with open disdain.
“You’re just making excuses.
Injuring your classmate was wrong!” Storm had never expected Roy to openly contradict her in front of so many students.
More importantly, he clearly didn’t think he had done anything wrong.
“Excuses?” “If you say so.
You’re the teacher, after all.” Roy replied with undisguised mockery.
“You…” Seeing the blatant sarcasm on Roy’s face, Storm’s eyes suddenly began glowing with an eerie white light, as though clouds were swirling inside them.
At the same time, the previously clear sky was rapidly swallowed by dark clouds.
It looked as though a storm was about to break.
