“Cousin!”
“Master Fu, why are you here?”
Fu Yuanchen and Liu Qingyan spoke at the same time, their voices tense and flustered.
Fu Shuheng ignored them entirely. He gave the soft flesh at Qin Qing’s waist a gentle squeeze, pressing her petite frame against his chest.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Are you upset that I tore your clothes earlier?”
Fu Yuanchen and Liu Qingyan’s faces turned green.
What did that mean?
An heirless man and a lovesick dog had slept together?
Qin Qing had no idea what cryptic game the villain was playing. Whether it was her imagination or not, Fu Shuheng seemed to have dropped some of his guard around her.
She didn’t have the presence of mind to dwell on it. Her body relaxed against the man’s chest as she listened to the steady thrum of his heartbeat.
“I’m tired. Take me back.”
Her voice was cold and languid, but if one listened closely, there was a hint of weakness in it.
“Alright—”
Fu Shuheng sensed something. The amusement faded from his eyes as he scooped her up in his arms and turned to leave.
“Cousin, she’s my woman!”
Even as slow as Fu Yuanchen was, he could tell something was off about their relationship.
Fu Shuheng narrowed his eyes at his younger cousin, exuding an invisible pressure.
His tone was gentle but brooked no argument: “From now on, when you see Qin Qing, you should address her as your little cousin-in-law.”
“She’s my fiancée!”
Fu Yuanchen’s pupils constricted, his face twisting in shock.
“Not anymore.”
Fu Shuheng dropped those words and walked away without looking back, Qin Qing cradled in his arms.
He left behind the man and woman kneeling on the bed—bare, disheveled, and utterly stunned.
“Pfft—!”
The moment Qin Qing was carried out of the room, she opened her mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood.
“You’re vomiting blood? Are you injured?” Fu Shuheng quickened his pace back to his room, still holding her.
The calm composure on Qin Qing’s face faded, her complexion pale enough to be frightening. Yet a startling light blazed in her eyes.
Good!
Very good!
She had only given Fu Yuanchen a minor lesson, and she was already suffering karmic backlash from the fortune luck on his body.
In that instant of backlash, she caught a glimpse of the Rule Constraints—
She could not coexist with the male and female leads. One of them was destined to live, the other to die.
It had been a long time since Qin Qing had been injured or seen blood. Today, wounded and bleeding, a strange excitement kindled in her heart instead.
No one was going to take her life!
Either the Heavenly Dao killed her outright, or she killed the male and female leads and tore apart these damn Rule Constraints in this book!
Fu Shuheng had no idea what the rebellious Qin Qing was thinking. He set her down gently on the bed.
The moment she was placed down, Qin Qing grabbed the villain’s collar and lunged forward, urgently pressing her lips toward his.
Just as she was about to reach him… Fu Shuheng turned his head aside, avoiding her.
Her initiative was a fatal temptation to him—his body reacted immediately.
But Fu Shuheng took her wrist and gently pushed her upright, patting the back of her hand as if to soothe her.
“You’re sick. You need rest.”
He rose to put distance between them and gave an order to a young man standing in the room.
“Yao Jin, go fetch the family physician.”
Yao Jin stared at Qin Qing in disbelief. This was the first time he’d seen Master Fu get close to a woman—and she’d even had the audacity to try and force a kiss on him.
Hearing his master’s order, he nodded. “I’ll go right away.”
“No need. I won’t die from this!”
Qin Qing, propped against the headboard, lifted her eyelids and spoke listlessly.
Fu Shuheng frowned. “Are you sure?”
Qin Qing’s gaze swept over the man’s thin lips. “No need. A doctor can’t cure what I have.”
If she could just kiss Fu Shuheng and absorb his dense Malevolent Aura, this bit of backlash could be healed with ease.
Unfortunately, the man wouldn’t let her kiss him.
He’d kissed her so fiercely before—why was he holding back now?
Without Malevolent Aura to replenish her vitality, Qin Qing slumped weakly against the bed and slowly closed her eyes, hiding the restlessness and restraint in them from view.
“Kissing me—would it make you feel better?”
A scorching breath brushed against Qin Qing’s ear as the villain’s deep, pleasant voice drifted in.
She snapped her eyes open, meeting the man’s dark, unreadable gaze.
“That’s right. Will you let me?”
Fu Shuheng leaned in, his predatory gaze ensnaring the girl like a dense web.
“And what identity will you kiss me as?”
His pace was unhurried, yet it made one instinctively hold their breath.
Qin Qing’s tone turned sharp. “What do you mean?”
Fu Shuheng lifted a strand of her hair, twirling it around his fingers, his breath ghosting past her ear.
“Marry me, and you can kiss me all you want…”
The coldness in Qin Qing’s eyes faded. She hooked her finger around the man’s bathrobe sash and pulled him closer, wrapping her legs tightly around his waist.
“I can’t wait until marriage—I want to kiss you now!”
She used every ounce of strength she had to cling to him, seeking the Malevolent Aura that would keep her alive.
Fu Shuheng’s thin lips pressed into a firm line as he stared down at the girl on him with a dangerous look.
Qin Qing kissed him for a long while but barely absorbed any Malevolent Aura.
Frustrated, she snapped, “Open your mouth!”
The man remained unmoved, gazing down at her like she was a cat with its fur puffed up.
Qin Qing was both angry and annoyed. “We’ll get married tomorrow! Just let me take a few sips first!”
A faint smile surfaced in Fu Shuheng’s eyes as he slowly parted his lips.
Qin Qing kissed and bit, fierce and ruthless, greedily drinking in the Malevolent Aura.
She was too hasty, inhaling too much.
Her eyelids gradually grew heavy, and she lost consciousness, slumped against Fu Shuheng’s shoulder.
The next day.
Fu Shuheng, dressed in a bespoke high-end suit, exuding an air of noble refinement, with a dried blood scab at the corner of his lips, sat at the computer desk.
“…At two o’clock last night, the chief engineer was in a hurry to finish and continued the blasting. Many workers had already left by then. Only two people were injured on site, and their injuries weren’t serious—they should be discharged within a month.”
Yao Jin stood to the side, speaking in a respectful tone, reporting cautiously.
When he finished speaking, no one responded.
The air in the room grew stagnant, every breath distinctly audible.
Fu Shuheng’s icy gaze reflected the scene of the site reduced to rubble by the explosion.
After watching the video of the on-site accident, he cast a cold glance at Yao Jin, his slightly callous lips parting:
“Acting on your own, treating human lives as a joke—blacklist this man from the industry.”
Yao Jin could detect the suppressed fury and ruthlessness hidden in Master Fu’s tone.
He nodded solemnly: “I’ll handle this personally.”
Being blacklisted by the Fu Corporation was equivalent to being blacklisted across all industries—there would be no place left to stand.
Fu Shuheng rose unhurriedly, his long legs striding forward as he headed out.
He asked casually: “Have the marriage certificates been delivered?”
Yao Jin hurried to catch up: “Your and the missus’s marriage certificates have been sent to the old residence. The old master asked when you’d bring the missus home.”
Fu Shuheng halted his steps, his voice low: “You did that on purpose?”
Yao Jin gave an awkward smile, rubbing the tip of his nose sheepishly.
“How could I? It was just a coincidence.”
Fu Shuheng kicked him in the shin, his voice carrying little real menace:
“Act on your own again, and I’ll tighten your skin for you.”
Yao Jin’s face turned pale: “Cousin! You can’t do this!”
The so-called “tightening skin” meant beating him black and blue, leaving him unable to get out of bed.
Fu Shuheng paid no heed to the wailing behind him. The two walked out of the study one after the other.
“Bro, little sister-in-law ran off!”
Yao Jin exclaimed in shock, looking at the empty open-plan bedroom.
