Gale did not hesitate in the slightest.

Once he was certain that King Kong had completely departed.

He burst out of the cave at top speed, charging toward the three Skullcrawler corpses at the foot of the hill.Full novel: MonsterVerse: Infinite Evolution on Skull Island — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As Gale moved, the grass and flowers along his path were seen parting rapidly to either side.

At this moment, Gale’s speed exploded to its limit, rivaling even that of an ordinary cheetah.

As he rushed toward the Skullcrawler corpses, Gale was also deep in thought.

Given the massive size of the Skullcrawlers, it would be impossible for him to swallow one whole; he would burst before he could finish.

He had to be selective in what he devoured.

In that case, the Skullcrawler’s internal organs would be the optimal choice.

Especially the Skullcrawler’s heart.

After all, for any living being, the heart is the most vital organ, hailed as the source of life.

Thus, the life energy contained within the heart was likely the most abundant for any creature.

Soon, Gale reached the bottom of the hill.

His first target was the largest Skullcrawler, which was over thirty meters long.

By now, the area around the Lake was devoid of any other living creatures following the recent slaughter.

Gale could carry out his plan without any distractions or worries.

When he reached the corpse of the largest Skullcrawler, Gale’s heart couldn’t help but tremble again.

Logically, Gale’s current nine-meter body made him a giant compared to most creatures, but standing before this thirty-meter-long Skullcrawler, he felt like a mere earthworm.

He suppressed the tremor in his heart.

Then, suppressing his nausea, Gale crawled into the Skullcrawler’s body through its mouth.

“Sizzle, sizzle.” The moment he entered the Skullcrawler’s body, Gale felt a corrosive, burning pain on his skin.

The fluids inside the Skullcrawler were highly corrosive and were already beginning to eat away at Gale’s body.

Gale estimated that he could only endure this for half an hour at most.

If he stayed inside for more than half an hour, he would be corroded to death by the creature’s internal fluids.

“I can’t stay for long.” Realizing this, Gale immediately picked up his pace.

He soon reached the inner abdomen, where a massive heart nearly three meters in diameter appeared in his sight.

This was the Skullcrawler’s heart.

Even this heart alone was too large for Gale to swallow.

He quickly decided that if he couldn’t swallow the heart, he would consume the blood inside it.

Gale lunged forward and bit into the heart.

Fortunately, the Skullcrawler’s heart was not very well-defended, and Gale bit through it in one go.

He then began to drink greedily, feeling a vast amount of scorching liquid being sucked from the heart into his own body.

As the Skullcrawler’s blood entered him, Gale felt as if his entire body’s blood had been ignited, beginning to boil like scalding oil.

Fortunately, his body was able to withstand this condition.

Once he was sure it wasn’t life-threatening, Gale did his best to drain the heart.

Nearly five minutes later.

The large Skullcrawler’s heart visibly shriveled up as Gale drained every drop of blood.

Gale then crawled out of the large Skullcrawler and found the corpse of the second, smaller Skullcrawler.

The heart of the smaller Skullcrawler was much smaller than the first, only about two meters in diameter.

However, it was still too difficult for Gale to swallow directly.

Gale proceeded to do the same thing, draining the blood from the second Skullcrawler’s heart.

Then came the third one.

But just as Gale was about to finish draining the blood from the third and final Skullcrawler’s heart.

He suddenly felt the Skullcrawler’s corpse move.

“What’s happening?

Could this Skullcrawler still be alive?” Gale was startled, almost suspecting that the creature wasn’t dead.

But he quickly confirmed that it definitely wasn’t alive, as its heart was nearly drained dry.

“Splash!” At that moment, Gale heard the sound of rushing water.

It sounded like the Skullcrawler’s corpse was entering the water.

A possibility immediately occurred to Gale.

Had the Giant Crocodile in the Lake also set its sights on the Skullcrawler’s corpse?

Gale had to stop draining the heart’s fluids; fortunately, he was nearly finished anyway.

He twisted his body and crawled rapidly toward the exit at the Skullcrawler’s mouth.

The moment he crawled out of the mouth.

Gale saw that the Skullcrawler’s corpse was already being dragged into the Lake.

It was just as he had guessed: the one dragging the corpse was the Giant Crocodile from the depths of the Lake.

The Giant Crocodile had clearly targeted the Skullcrawler’s corpse, just like Gale.

Seeing this, Gale didn’t dare linger.

He darted out of the Skullcrawler’s mouth into the water and then scrambled toward the shore.

“Boom—” The Giant Crocodile dragging the corpse immediately spotted Gale and was instantly enraged.

In the Giant Crocodile’s eyes, these three Skullcrawler corpses were its meal, yet Gale had dared to intercept them.

How could it tolerate this?

Although it didn’t know what Gale had taken from inside the Skullcrawler.

As the overlord of this area, the Giant Crocodile felt an unprecedented challenge to its authority; Gale had to die.

“Boom!” A massive wave rose high into the air.

The Giant Crocodile let go of the Skullcrawler’s corpse and lunged at Gale.

Gale’s skin crawled at the sight.

He accelerated to his absolute limit, reaching the shore and racing toward the Karst Cave at the summit.

The Giant Crocodile followed him out of the Lake and onto the land.

However, once on land, speed was clearly not the Giant Crocodile’s forte.

By the time Gale reached the middle of the slope, the Giant Crocodile could no longer keep up.

Gale breathed a sigh of relief and continued toward the cave at the top of the mountain.

Having drained the blood from three Skullcrawler hearts, Gale felt as if his entire body were on fire, and he felt incredibly bloated.

He needed to get back to the cave quickly to digest his gains.

The Giant Crocodile, unwilling to give up, chased Gale for a bit longer.

It wasn’t until they were halfway up the slope that Gale completely outran it.

The Giant Crocodile let out a resentful roar before turning back toward the bottom of the hill.

After returning to the foot of the hill, the Giant Crocodile dragged all three Skullcrawler corpses into the Lake.

Then, the Lake and its surroundings returned to complete tranquility.
