After sleeping comfortably, Xia Yan came out of the room and happened to meet Xu Pandie who was about to go feed the chickens, ducks, and geese.

“Big sister-in-law. Good morning,” Xia Yan stretched lazily and greeted.

“You… you… are you the little sister?”

“Big sister-in-law, what’s wrong with you? It’s only been a month. You don’t recognize me anymore?” Xia Yan waved her hand in front of her.

“I recognize you! Little sister… when did you come back?”

“I came back last night…” Xia Yan hadn’t finished speaking when she was suddenly interrupted.

Bang!

Xia Zhixiu rushed forward and hugged her tightly.

“Little sister! Is it really you? Where have you been all this time? We were so worried about you!”

Xia Huai’an also came out of the door and froze when he saw her. After a moment, he stepped forward and examined her carefully, his eyes red.

“You child… do you know how worried Mother has been? She couldn’t sleep at night, her hair has turned white from worry.”

“Uh… second brother, I came back last night. Mother looks perfectly fine though,” Xia Yan replied awkwardly.

“You’ve been out for a while and still haven’t changed your sharp tongue,” he said, breaking into a tearful smile and tapping her forehead.

“Is… is that really little sister?” Xia Huai’an stood at the door hesitantly.

Xia Yan turned and immediately said coldly:

“Yes, it’s me. What? You’re unhappy I came back? Planning to hit me again?”

Xia Huai’an immediately dropped his hoe, rushed forward, and hugged her.

“Little sister… I was wrong that day. I shouldn’t have hit you. I was wrong… please forgive me.”

Xia Yan didn’t want to forgive him. After all, he had beaten her before. But Wang Chunhua returned just in time.

Seeing everyone gathered, she quickly stepped in:

“All right, all right. Don’t crowd around. There’s no overnight hatred between family. Go do your own things.”

“Exactly,” Xia Yan said with a fake smile. “It’s all in the past. Let’s just live well now.”

She hooked Wang Chunhua’s arm.

“Mother, I’m hungry. Cook something good for me. I missed your food so much outside.”

“You little glutton,” Wang Chunhua smiled lovingly.

In the afternoon, Xia Yan suggested going to town to buy a carriage. Everyone agreed.

Xia Huai’an still felt uneasy, but Xu Pandie pulled him away.

Later, while eating, Wang Chunhua told them stories about how chili and pepper once caused misunderstandings in the family.

Back then, everyone thought chili was poisonous, and pepper made people’s mouths numb. Later they realized it was delicious and even brought pepper trees home to plant.

After lunch, Wang Chunhua and Xia Yan entered the space.

Looking at the piles of grain, Xia Yan suggested opening a grain shop.

Wang Chunhua suggested a restaurant instead, but Xia Yan analyzed the risks and rejected it, warning about jealousy and trouble.

They finally decided to open a grain store in town and quietly do business.

After returning to their room, they planned their next steps and went to sleep peacefully.

Inside the space, Xia Yan worked on planting and grafting crops, eating modern strawberries and thinking about how she once tricked people by pretending they were “divine fruits.”

She also muttered:

“If Cheng Jiao becomes a ghost, don’t come find me. Go find the system instead.”
