Editor: Henyee Translations Less than an hour later, Evelyn arrived at her destination.

The address led to a grand private estate.

A man was already waiting outside the gates when she pulled up.Full novel: Mr. Lowell, Your Fiancée is a Medical Genius! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As soon as she stepped out of the car, the middle-aged man approached her.

“Dr.

Ashford?” Evelyn nodded.

Relief immediately washed over his face.

“Thank goodness.

Mr.

Wright has been waiting for you.

Please, this way.” He quickly led her inside.

The home reflected its owner’s distinguished past.

Framed commendations and service medals lined the walls, speaking quietly of a lifetime of honor.

Inside the master bedroom, Jacob Wright was propped up against several pillows.

Sweat soaked his shirt despite the cool temperature in the room.

Beside him stood a young man supporting him while helping him drink water.

The moment Jacob saw Evelyn enter, his eyes lit up.

“Finally!” He immediately ordered toward the doorway.

“Bring in the medical supplies.

Dr.

Ashford is here.” Then he turned toward the young man at his side.

“Kevin, get Dr.

Ashford a chair.” “Of course.” Kevin quickly pulled a chair over.

As he turned back toward Evelyn, however, he froze for a brief moment.

His grandfather had spoken about Dr.

Ashford countless times, but he had never imagined she would be this young.

Or this is beautiful.

That was his first thought.

The second came just as quickly.

This is the miracle doctor Grandpa keeps talking about?

Recovering almost immediately, Kevin offered a polite smile.

“Dr.

Ashford, please have a seat.” “Thank you.” A faint smile touched Evelyn’s lips.

The expression was subtle, yet unexpectedly warm, like sunlight breaking through after a long winter.

For reasons he couldn’t explain, Kevin felt something tighten briefly in his chest.

A housekeeper soon arrived with the medical supplies.

After sitting down, Evelyn picked up a pair of medical shears.

“I will need to cut open the pant leg.” Jacob didn’t hesitate for a second.

“Go right ahead.” Despite the pain etched across his face and the sweat pouring down his temples, he remained as decisive as ever.

Evelyn nodded and carefully cut the fabric up to his thigh.

Her movements were efficient and precise.

The moment the fabric fell away, the injury was fully exposed.

The skin around the old wound was swollen and discolored, with dark purple bruising spreading outward.

It was a decades-old combat injury, a bullet wound sustained during military service.

Although the wound had long since healed, lingering damage continued to plague him.

Every time the weather changed, the pain returned with brutal intensity, often leaving him unable to sleep for days.

Several people in the room inhaled sharply.

Even after seeing it countless times, the injury remained unsettling.

Kevin’s expression darkened as concern flickered across his face.

Evelyn, however, remained completely composed.

After a thorough examination, she looked up.

“I will begin with a series of injections.

There may be some discomfort, so please bear with me.” Jacob chuckled.

“Discomfort?” He waved a dismissive hand.

“I have survived worse, Miss.” Evelyn smiled.

“Still as tough as ever, Mr.

Wright.” This wasn’t their first time working together.

Jacob trusted her completely.

In fact, he had already prepared everything she might need before she arrived.

To most people, Dr.

Ashford was known as a gifted surgeon.

What few realized was that her expertise in pain management and rehabilitative medicine was even more exceptional than her surgical skills.

Years of training overseas had allowed her to combine multiple medical approaches into highly effective treatment plans tailored to each patient.

With practiced ease, she selected several syringes and medications from the kit.

Then she began administering the injections with remarkable precision.

Kevin stood quietly nearby, watching.

The confidence in her movements was mesmerizing.

Every action seemed deliberate.

Every decision appeared effortless.

It wasn’t difficult to understand why his grandfather trusted her so completely.

By the time she finished the final injection, Jacob’s face had gone pale.

Prominent veins stood out along his forehead.

Concern crossed Kevin’s face.

“He looks dehydrated.

Should we get him some water?” Without lifting her eyes from the prescription she was writing, Evelyn replied calmly, “No need.

That’s a normal reaction.

It’ll pass shortly.” Just as she predicted, Jacob’s condition improved within minutes.

The tension slowly drained from his body.

Warmth spread through his leg, replacing the sharp, icy pain that had tormented him for days.

Finally, he let out a long breath.

“As expected of you, Dr.

Ashford.” A smile appeared on his weathered face.

“No one else has ever been able to relieve this pain so quickly.” Kevin relaxed at last.

Even so, what he had witnessed felt almost unbelievable.

His gaze drifted back to Evelyn.

She sat quietly at the desk, focused on writing detailed treatment instructions.

A few loose strands of dark hair had slipped across her forehead.

The sight softened her otherwise composed appearance.

She was undeniably beautiful.

Yet, what struck Kevin most wasn’t her beauty.

It was something else entirely.

Something difficult to describe.

Respect.

Admiration.

Almost reverence.

She seemed untouchable somehow, distant and luminous like the moon hanging above a quiet lake.

The thought of viewing her through any less honorable lens felt strangely inappropriate.

Twenty minutes later, Evelyn finished documenting the treatment plan.

As she packed away her supplies, she gave Jacob several instructions.

“I have written everything down.” She handed him the prescription.

“Don’t interrupt the treatment schedule, and don’t neglect your recovery again.” Her tone grew more serious.

“The damage has existed for too long to be completely reversed, but we can significantly reduce the pain and improve your mobility.” She pointed toward the medication schedule.

“Get plenty of rest after taking the medicine, and make sure you stay warm.

Cold weather aggravates the injury.” In public, Jacob Wright was known as a stern, intimidating man.

Yet, in front of Evelyn, he looked remarkably obedient.

Almost like a student receiving instructions from his favorite professor.

He laughed timidly.

“Don’t worry, Doctor.

I’ll follow the treatment plan properly this time.” Kevin blinked.

Since when has Grandpa ever listened to anyone this obediently?

Seeing his reaction, Evelyn couldn’t help smiling.

“That’s good.” She stood.

“It’s getting late.

I should head out.” Jacob immediately looked toward his grandson.

“Kevin, walk Dr.

Ashford out and take care of her consultation fee.” Evelyn shook her head.

“That’s not necessary.” Jacob frowned.

“Why not?” “The medication wasn’t supplied by me, and the treatment itself was minor.” She offered a gentle smile.

“Besides, you have dedicated your life to serving this country.

Helping relieve your pain is an honor.” Jacob’s expression softened.

He had always respected talented young people.

But character mattered even more.

And Evelyn possessed both.

Looking at her now, his approval only deepened.

“Your medical skills are extraordinary.” Then he glanced toward Kevin.

“And your character is even better.” A mischievous smile appeared on his face.

“If my useless grandson were half as capable as you, I would have tried to set the two of you up already.” “Grandpa!” Kevin nearly choked.

Color rushed to his face instantly.

Evelyn, meanwhile, remained perfectly composed.

She had clearly encountered similar situations before.

“Mr.

Wright is a devoted grandson,” she said politely.

“Whoever marries him in the future will be very fortunate.” Jacob immediately recognized the graceful rejection hidden beneath the compliment.

Even so, he couldn’t suppress a trace of disappointment.

In his eyes, Evelyn was the ideal granddaughter-in-law.

The kind every grandfather dreamed of having.
