The pain spreading from the back of her neck made Shen Wanli lose focus for a moment. The Alpha’s pheromones transmitted through her gland were intensely painful, and the collision of two pheromones of the same attribute within her body directly robbed Shen Wanli of all her strength.
“Let… let me go.”
Shen Wanli desperately tried to push Jiang Rou away, but the pain from the pheromones had sapped the strength from her body. Her force was like that of a small cat, posing no threat at all to the other person.
Jiang Rou kept biting down, as if venting her dissatisfaction.
The two initially colliding pheromones unexpectedly began to fuse in a bizarre way as time passed. Perhaps because this was not the first time she had been bitten as an Alpha, Shen Wanli’s body adapted extremely quickly, and a flush soon spread across her face.
“Hot…” Shen Wanli muttered, suddenly snapping the embracing Jiang Rou back to her senses. “Sister, what is wrong with you?”
Shen Wanli’s reaction caught Jiang Rou off guard. She hadn’t failed to consider other possibilities, such as Shen Wanli feeling terrible, or Shen Wanli remaining completely unaffected, but she never expected that Shen Wanli would actually react to her pheromones.
This realization made Jiang Rou inexplicably excited.
Looking at Shen Wanli’s flushed cheeks, hair damp with a light sheen of sweat, and reddish eye corners, Jiang Rou felt her throat grow very dry, much like a traveler in a desert, while Shen Wanli was the water that could quench her thirst.
The heat within her body made Shen Wanli extremely uncomfortable. Due to the injection of pheromones, Shen Wanli’s mind was still spinning, leaving her with the sensation of floating up into the clouds.
Shen Wanli also felt she needed something cooling. Looking at Jiang Rou, who was still looking at her in bewilderment, Shen Wanli grabbed Jiang Rou’s arm and kissed those cherry-like lips.
Jiang Rou’s eyes widened in shock, blankly experiencing the warmth on her lips. Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs, and this was the first time Shen Wanli had ever kissed her.
Shen Wanli was quite dissatisfied with the other person’s distraction and rubbed her lips slightly against Jiang Rou’s.
Feeling the unusual sensation on her lips, Jiang Rou snapped back to her senses, and the two of them became entangled in a lingering kiss.
A while later, they finally separated. Seeing the flushed eye corners of a somewhat disoriented Shen Wanli, Jiang Rou felt a fire burning deep inside her body, blazing all the way up to her throat. “This is what you asked for.”
With that, she lowered her head once more and sank her teeth into that gland as if venting her frustration.
The fragrance of tuberose tightly enveloped the coconut milk, filling the entire room.
In this enclosed space, the two sets of pheromones intertwined and belonged completely to each other.
They moved from the bedroom to the living room, then to the windowsill, and back to the living room again. Every corner of the house was saturated with the scent of tuberose and coconut milk, leaving an omnipresent mark upon the home.
Both Alphas possessed remarkable stamina. Jiang Rou’s slender drawing hand employed endless skill and pressure to stroke those piano strings capable of producing heavenly music.
Three days later.
The moment Jiang Rou opened her eyes, she saw Shen Wanli’s sleeping face, filled with a sense of contentment.
Her gaze no longer held the paranoia of three days ago, and instead it reflected the relaxation that came from finally obtaining something she had dreamed of for so long.
Thinking that Shen Wanli hadn’t eaten much over the past few days, Jiang Rou got up to go downstairs and prepare something to replenish Shen Wanli’s energy.
When Shen Wanli woke up, a sharp pain radiated from the back of her neck. As she tried to get up, she couldn’t help letting out a soft hiss. Raising a hand to the vanity mirror, she saw her gland covered in a myriad of marks of all sizes.
Shen Wanli tried to stand, only to feel as though her entire lower body had lost all sensation, much like someone who had just undergone an amputation.
At that moment, the bedroom door suddenly swung open, and the moment Shen Wanli opened her eyes, she saw Jiang Rou stepping inside.
“Why did you get down here? Come have something to eat.”
Jiang Rou said softly, her tone filled with endless consideration.
As Jiang Rou walked toward her, Shen Wanli kept her gaze locked onto her. The moment Jiang Rou drew close, Shen Wanli swung her hand and directly knocked the bowl out of Jiang Rou’s hand.
The sound of the bowl shattering on the floor also shook Shen Wanli’s voice. Opening her mouth, she realized how raspy her voice had become. “Get out!”
That single command felt as though it had drained every last ounce of her strength.
Seeing Shen Wanli in such an agitated state, Jiang Rou’s expression remained calm. Far from growing angry over the outburst, her tone continued to overflow with gentle patience. “Why are you getting so angry? I will clean this up.”
Watching Jiang Rou busy herself clearing away the shards on the floor, Shen Wanli felt it was utterly absurd, and the scene made it look as though she were the one throwing an unreasonable temper tantrum.
“I told you to get out. Did you not understand?”
Shen Wanli’s voice was blazing with fury.
Jiang Rou maintained that same placid expression, as if the person being cursed out wasn’t her at all, and her tone remained coaxing. “Sister, stop making a fuss and eat something. Do you not like this? Should I go make something else for you?”
Jiang Rou’s tone was like someone indulging an unreasonable child, which only served to ignite Shen Wanli’s anger further, pushing her emotions to an unprecedented level of agitation.
“After doing something like this, how do you have the nerve to call me sister? It is utterly disgusting, you bastard!”
Shen Wanli shouted aloud. Usually gentle and accommodating, she rarely experienced such intense emotions, but the events of the past two days had completely shattered all her composure.
Jiang Rou’s expression had been relatively gentle up to that point, because after all, she herself had failed to resist the temptation.
In truth, she hadn’t intended for things to develop this quickly, and she had originally planned to let Shen Wanli get used to her pheromones first, never expecting that one spark would lead to an uncontrollable wildfire.
However, Shen Wanli’s accusation of disgusting directly struck a raw nerve.
Suddenly, Jiang Rou’s expression turned gloomy as she looked at Shen Wanli.
Startled by Jiang Rou’s expression, Shen Wanli asked instinctively, “What are you going to do?” Jiang Rou gave a low chuckle, and under Shen Wanli’s growing look of shock, her laughter grew louder, filled with an endless frenzy.
“A bastard? It was your care and affection from childhood that made me fall in love with you. It was your constant pampering that made me unable to leave you. When I differentiated as an Alpha and you abandoned me without a word, that was also you. When I came back and every time I was hurt or sad, the one who comforted and cared for me was you, too. The paintings you gave me were from you. You gave me endless hope, you made me feel like we could go back to the way things were, you made me feel that no matter if I was an Alpha or not, it wouldn’t be a problem in the end. You are the one who turned me into a bastard, and you cannot just walk away.” By the end of her words, Jiang Rou was sobbing uncontrollably.
Watching Jiang Rou’s endless tears, Shen Wanli felt her heart ache as if pierced by knives. What on earth had turned them into this situation today?
Why on earth? For the first time, Shen Wanli began to doubt herself. Was being kind to others a fault?
Was it wrong of her to care for Jiang Rou, thinking that if they couldn’t be lovers they could still be like sisters? Was she truly the one in the wrong? Had she taken everything far too simply?
