5 25: Chapter 25: Is This a Girlfriend?
5 “Mm.” Ethan Hayes took the fork handed over by Vivian York and sat down on a chair by the dining table.
The ramen she cooked was aromatic, with each perfectly translucent noodle carefully topped with a layer of cooked vegetables and sausage, with a plump poached egg on the side.
Ethan hesitated for a moment, picked up the fork, and took a bite.
“How is it, is it good?” Vivian sat across from him, her little hands supporting her chin, watching him proudly with a smile, “Not to brag, but my ramen is absolutely the best in the world.
This has been the result of my meticulous research over the years.”
“It’s okay.” Ethan looked up at her, expressionlessly spitting out the three words.
Although her cooking was indeed delicious, he just didn’t want to praise her.
“You say one thing and mean another.” Vivian made a face at him and then urged, “Hurry up and eat.”
“Mm.” Ethan lowered his head and quickly finished the bowl of ramen in front of him, drinking all the broth, too.
Vivian looked at him mischievously, unable to hide the pride in her eyes.
“I…
I just didn’t want to waste it.” Ethan put down the fork, a faint blush appearing on his handsome face, and said to Vivian in a soft voice, “Not because your cooking is good that I ate it all.”
“I know, I know.” Vivian shrugged and directly cleared the bowl and fork in front of him.
After all, this guy is just someone who says one thing but means another, rebellious and unruly, so she didn’t expect him to open his mouth and praise her.
Ethan: “…”
What kind of reaction is this??
She seems indifferent to his evaluation??
“Alright, alright, since you’re done eating, quickly go do the exercises.” Vivian cleaned up the bowl and fork, then grabbed Ethan’s sleeve and directly dragged him back to the study.
In the study, Liam Shaw had already taken out his homework and was lying on the desk, diligently writing.
Seeing Ethan and Vivian come in, he quickly raised his head and blinked forcefully at Ethan: Bro, it’s settled.
Good.
Ethan gave the subtlest of nods, returning to his seat.
Vivian picked up a pen and, while writing formulas on scratch paper, said to Ethan, “These are the formulas I explained to you last week.
Go through them again.
The exercises I marked for you earlier can all be solved using these formulas.”
“Hmm…” Ethan looked at the lines of formulas she had written on the paper and absentmindedly nodded.
“Oh right, I also got you a workbook whose exercises are more suitable for your current level.” Vivian spoke as she reached for the backpack placed beside the desk, “Let me give you…”
Before she could finish her sentence, the backpack’s zipper was already opened, and a small dark green snake poked its head out of the bag, flicking its bright red tongue and staring at her.
Vivian was completely stunned, staring at the little snake in front of her, and the little snake stared back.
After a moment of eye contact between person and snake, she suddenly reached out and deftly pinched the snake at its weakest spot, pulling it out of her backpack.
“Hiss hiss…” The little snake dangled from Vivian’s grip, its slender tail helplessly flailing in the air.
