Not many children were capable of such academic feats at the young age of 10. There was a reason most children, if talented, got into sects in their teens.

In the courtyard,
"So, they are watching me. Obviously, they would!" Ye Yaming muttered to himself. How could he not think that they would keep an eye on him? It was so obvious.
"Still, I have to continue this training." His mutated beast soul had just devoured another soul. He needed to put more effort into this.
’My body doesn’t feel okay. It’s as if I am getting weak.’ In fact, his body itself was feeling overwhelmed with the newly devoured beast soul.
He could literally feel the suppression on his body increasing. ’Does it take time for the Snakey-Raven to digest the gains?’ He could understand if his beast soul had limit.
Although, he was not sure whether it was because of the lack of Beast Qi or his mastery. He only believed that he was supposed to train more and try pushing his three talents more. As long as they kept improving, he would keep his physical training, spiritual training, as well as mental training going by the schedule.
Focusing only on Spiritual talent or any single talent was not possible. For some reason all of them had their upper limits increased by nearly the same. Although, it was a different matter that he skipped the mental training because it seemed irrelevant at the moment.
The more his talents increased, the more he felt their effects, and thus his desire for a controllable Beast Soul.
"What could push my Beast soul to the next level?" He was aware that for some reason he could not get to the Stage 2 of his Beast Soul. The stage or a realm where a warrior could summon their Beast soul as a projection, and make them fight.
He already possessed the required amount of Beast Qi, arguably more than that. He also had the mastery of Beast Soul above 100. Still, his realm remained the same, stuck at Stage 1, unable to progress.
Surprisingly enough, his Beast Soul, the Snakey-Raven ehich was still at Stage 1, was sentient enough to understand his intentions and go devour another Beast Soul.
So, he believed himself to be a semi-stage 2 in the Beast Soul progression path. He could summon the Beast Soul but the Mutated Beast Soul was sentient and moved on its own, not like other people’s which only influenced their personality. His Beast Soul seemed pretty independent unlike ones he had seen and heard of.
He was hungry from overworking his weak body.
"It is about time I get a meal." He was an orphan but the clan had chefs who prepared food for everyone. So, he did not need to concern himself with learning to cook. In fact, some servant even brought the warm meal directly to his courtyard.
He had kept the meal in another room so as to not be distracted by the smell of food while practicing.
...
A week passed,
"Is he still going by the same schedule?" Ye Xuanming asked, disgruntled. He had thought that the boy would change for the better.
He even nudged the hired tutor, Shen Wenhao, to remind the boy of his training. Unfortunately for him, that didn’t seem to work.
"He is just a child, let him be." Ye Zhenyu, who seemed to be against Ye Yaming getting the big opportunity, said with a polite smile, however, the scorn and the sarcasm in his smile couldn’t be any more obvious.
He was very careful with his words when around Ye Xuanming. Ye Xuanming was the de facto clan leader as well as the only First-rate warrior of their clan.
But he still couldn’t help showing that smile of schrenferude on his face when talked about Ye Yaming. With that boy’s negligence in cultivation, the opportunity to get the promised discipleship could only fall on his own grandson, Ye Wuchen.
Yes, he was rooting for his own grandchild to get the chance at cultivation rather than that orphan boy, Ye Yaming, with dirty lineage. It was justifiable to him to give the chance of a promised discipleship to a sincere and healthy boy with strong connections to the clan rather than an outcast of the clan who did not even bother greeting his elders.
What would they do if the boy chose to break the connection after becoming a disciple of an elder of the sect? What could they even do?
At the end, they were only mortals while that man from the Azure Sky Sect, Elder Yunxiao was a Foundation Establishment realm cultivator. He thought it was a pity that Elder Xuanming, the de facto leader of the clan, wanted to give the boy an opportunity after seeing the boy’s smartness.
That boy’s lineage had literally sought destruction themselves. They had this ominous aura and it should have ended with that boy’s mother. ’Alas, that woman did not stop and went on to carry that lineage even after so much had happened.’ He thought in frustration.
"I talked to the Elder. One of his students is around and will come within the next three months." Ye Canglan spoke from the side. The Elder Yunxiao that had promised to teach one of their clan children had communicated with them earlier and informed them that one of his disciples was around their town and would be visiting their clan.
The Elder did not explicitly mention it but the disciple could probably be there to assess the chosen boy’s talent.
And Ye Yaming, the boy they had chosen, did not seem to be giving his all. It seemed very likely that they would lose their faces.
"He might assess his talents." Ye Xuanming commented with a dissatisfied expression on his face. The rumours about Ye clan’s prodigious yet fragile child had been around for a while.
The Azure Sky Sect Elder, Elder Yunxiao, must have heard of those rumours and sent his disciple to check on the rumours while on his way to the missions.
No matter the results, the Azure Sky Sect Edler would not go back on his words. He was sure of that.
He just hoped that the boy would give presentable results in the coming three months or the opportunity would be wasted on him.
It was a matter of face for their clan and also the clan’s future.
Ye Canglan sighed, leaving everything to fate but Ye Zhenyu seemed to be chuckling. He was very happy with the development of this situation. He just hoped that Ye Yaming would continue wasting time, and die marking the end of that lineage while also losing his spot to his grandson, Ye Wuchen.
’With that, we might be able to become a First-Tier clan once again. The great Ye clan!’ Ye Zhenyu’s eyes shone with determination and ambition. A wild ambition.
