Chi Jianqing returned indoors. Yu Lang followed closely.

The house had long since lost the concept of doors. The splintered boards had been shattered and kicked aside by Yu Lang as he entered.

He paused at the threshold, the heavy knife hanging in his hands.Full novel: My Yandere Ghost Husband Follows Me Through Worlds — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Playfully, he called out: “Chi Jianqing.”

Chi Jianqing stopped and turned.

Yu Lang said, “I’ve got tattoos. Want to see?”

Chi Jianqing lowered his gaze.

Yu Lang couldn’t withstand that heavy stare. He slowly lowered his head.

Earlier bravery meant nothing against absolute physical dominance.

“Give me your hand,” Chi Jianqing commanded.

Yu Lang froze. The words, You noticed?! hovered on his tongue.

“What should I give you?”

“Your hand.”

Yu Lang quickly switched hands, offering one freely, palm open, presented for Chi Jianqing.

“See? Nothing at all.”

Chi Jianqing gripped Yu Lang’s hand, leaning forward, head low, hair falling across his face to obscure most of it.

In Yu Lang’s peripheral vision, Chi Jianqing’s pale, almost blue tinged neck was fully exposed, unshielded.

Yu Lang’s excitement surged. His eyes fixed, gleaming with anticipation, preemptively imagining the strike of the knife.

Not a full decapitation, just sever a major artery, blood would gush, spraying like a fountain.

What would Chi Jianqing’s expression be then? Still calm, corpse like? Or distorted, grotesque, raging in defiance?

Yu Lang’s heart thudded violently. Every cell in his body screamed: Kill him!

He hadn’t realized his obsession, a nearly worshipful fixation, had taken over.

From neck to hairline, his gaze was scattered, feverish, captivated.

Suddenly, a wet sting spread across his palm.

Yu Lang snapped back from his blood soaked fantasy.

Looking down, he saw Chi Jianqing gently wiping his hand with the damp, cleaned fabric, carefully removing tiny shards of glass embedded from earlier chaos.

Only now did Yu Lang fully settle, looking at his own wounds.

His palm was a ruin, flesh flayed and bleeding, glass embedded in raw, exposed skin. Pain radiated through his body, his skull throbbing as if a thousand needles tried to pierce through.

A tingling numbness spread. He closed his eyes, deciding not to see, pretending nothing had happened.

And indeed, the pain dulled.

He didn’t realize it was Chi Jianqing tending the wound that eased the pain.

Yu Lang’s face darkened. “Busybody,” he muttered, breath matching the rhythm of Chi Jianqing’s cleaning.

Chi Jianqing said nothing.

Yu Lang opened his eyes slowly.

Breath caught. Their eyes met.

Chi Jianqing was so close now that a kiss seemed inevitable, head lowered like a collapsing mountain.

The scent emanating from Chi Jianqing was dense, almost suffocating, an amalgam of rotting mud, corpse blood and pus.

Yu Lang instinctively slapped, a gust of cold wind slicing through the gap between them.

Chi Jianqing’s body twisted, pain shooting through Yu Lang’s palm.

Then, without warning, Chi Jianqing’s hand snapped upward, gripping Yu Lang’s neck.

Pressing against the carotid artery, he pinned Yu Lang with absolute control.

Trying to strangle me?!

Yu Lang’s bravado deflated instantly, like a balloon popped, vanishing without a trace.

Clang.

The kitchen knife slammed to the floor, cracking the tiles into jagged black fissures.

Chi Jianqing’s gaze slowly drifted from the knife back to Yu Lang.

Silent yet asking everything without a word.

Yu Lang first froze, then forced a feigned smile.

He opened his arms lightly, collapsing against Chi Jianqing’s side, leaning forward, submissive, issuing a hushed, almost reverent, erotic invitation:

“Do you want to see my tattoo? It’s right…”

Chi Jianqing bent down slightly and Yu Lang stumbled forward, catching himself against the wall to steady his balance.

Once again, Yu Lang’s peripheral vision fell on that blindingly pale neck and his heart thudded erratically, a nervous, uneasy rhythm overtaking him.

When the excessively heavy kitchen knife came into Chi Jianqing’s hands, it felt almost absurd.

The knife handle fit snugly in Chi Jianqing’s palm, manipulated with the ease of a child playing with a toy.

“What do you intend to do?” Yu Lang asked.

“Kill you,” he admitted without hesitation.

Chi Jianqing merely let out a faint “oh” and handed the knife over.

Once more, the weapon changed sides, ending up in Yu Lang’s hands again.

Chi Jianqing rolled up the sleeve of his shirt, exposing his forearm.

“Where are you planning to strike?” he asked flatly.

Yu Lang answered honestly, pointing directly at Chi Jianqing’s neck.

Chi Jianqing responded indifferently, “Fine.”

“Really?”

Yu Lang leaned closer, brushing his fingers over Chi Jianqing’s throat, pressing gently against Adam’s apple.

“Mm,” came Chi Jianqing’s muted confirmation.

He nodded, deliberately leaning forward, lowering his height just enough to make it easier for Yu Lang to grasp his throat.

Yu Lang’s eyes lit up instantly. Both hands gripped the knife handle and he gestured toward the edge of the broken bed, signaling Chi Jianqing to move closer.

“Kneel there, then place your head down.”

Chi Jianqing complied.

He knelt at the edge of the bed, tilting his head to rest it flat against the worn boards.

Knife lifted, knife dropped.

No words, no hesitation, only motion.

Through the entire process, Chi Jianqing remained expressionless, unflinching, allowing Yu Lang’s increasingly frenzied, bloodthirsty fantasies to flourish unchecked.

Flesh and blood splattered. The crimson eruption matched exactly what Yu Lang had imagined: a grotesque, almost fetishistic spectacle of carnage that pushed his excitement to new heights.

But quickly, almost too quickly, Yu Lang’s frenzy began to fade. He felt the thrill slipping away, leaving only an odd sense of emptiness.

Chi Jianqing’s blank, impassive expression infected Yu Lang’s own face.

He weighed the knife in his hands. The blade, nicked and uneven from repeated strikes, was no longer sharp.

“This is boring… why are you so obedient?”

The severed head rolled across the floor like a ball, coming to rest neatly at Yu Lang’s feet.

Yu Lang flipped it the middle finger, tongue flicking out in a grotesque mimicry of malice, baring the darkest parts of his soul.

He dropped the knife.

Squatting, he scooped up the little head, placing it on a piece of clothing to wipe it clean. The face reemerged.

A face strikingly handsome, more so than most men.

Yu Lang leaned forward, pressing a kiss to the blood warmed lips, his tongue gliding over them, savoring the metallic warmth, drawing it into his mouth.

A wicked, satisfied smile spread across his face.

“You want to see my tattoo?”

Yu Lang parted his upper lip to expose the tender flesh beneath, revealing five deep, black letters etched into the inner lip:

FUCK U

“Hmm hmm.”

Two snickers escaped his nose, darkly playful.

Chi Jianqing awoke from the virtual reality device, hand brushing over his neck. “Hiss” he inhaled sharply.

No resentment. No anger.

Instead, he laughed.

A genuine, quiet laugh of appreciation:

“Ha… it really was a strike.”
