The gray-blue haze rushed towards him, but it stopped one meter away from Su Mu Bai, as the Black Mist Ghost Domain successfully blocked the haze's Erosion.
"The Starving Ghost is not in this haze. The haze was just to attract my attention; the real Starving Ghost is behind my..."
"Back!"
Su Mu Bai's gaze was icy, and without hesitation, he turned directly around, fiercely stabbing backward with the rusty object held in his right hand.
Just now, at the same moment the haze arrived, Su Mu Bai clearly felt the environment behind him suddenly turn chilling.
This chilling sensation was unique to the Supernatural!
"Whoosh!"
A sound of air breaking rang out.
A black-green hand, emitting a Corpse Odor and nearly rotten, suddenly reached out from behind Su Mu Bai, aiming to grab his neck!
Su Mu Bai's Black Mist Ghost Domain could not block the Invasion of this hand; it passed right through.
With a "thud."
The Starving Ghost successfully grabbed Su Mu Bai's neck. Its palm was extremely cold and stiff, carrying terrifying power, as if it could instantly snap Su Mu Bai's neck!
At the same time.
Su Mu Bai's right hand, clutching the rusty Coffin Nail, stabbed towards the Starving Ghost's chest. The speed was so fast that the Coffin Nail was already in front of the Starving Ghost's chest the instant it grabbed him.
"It should be a Success, right?!" Su Mu Bai's lips curved slightly upward, revealing an Eerie smile.
In his view, the possibility of this nail missing was very small.
And as long as the Coffin Nail successfully pinned the Starving Ghost, given its current Terror Level, it would instantly be nailed dead, falling into a System crash state!
Su Mu Bai slightly shifted his body, watching the Starving Ghost's Figure with his peripheral vision. At this close range, the Starving Ghost's appearance was very clear.
The black-green dead person's head was Terrifying and Gloomy, the belly constantly had things wriggling and slightly bulging, and the pitch-black eyes were cold and hollow!
A chilling, cold Aura radiated from the Starving Ghost, and a faint Corpse Odor permeated the surroundings.
"Truly ugly, and scary enough!" Su Mu Bai thought to himself.
Unbeknownst to him, the only difference between his appearance at this moment and the Starving Ghost's was that his stomach wasn't bulging; everything else was extremely similar, only the facial features differed.
While thinking, Su Mu Bai's attack was not hesitant at all; he increased the force in his hand again, and the speed of the Coffin Nail thrust increased significantly.
Su Mu Bai could even feel the sharp tip of the Coffin Nail touching the Starving Ghost's skin; just a little deeper, and it would completely pierce its Body!
However, the thought was good, but Reality was cruel.
Just as the Coffin Nail was about to truly pierce the Starving Ghost's body, a Mutation occurred...
The gray-blue haze danced everywhere, and a wind blew up in the Ghost Domain.
This wind carried a strong Supernatural Power; everything around seemed to freeze, with only the Eerie wind still drifting.
Su Mu Bai's Figure froze. The Coffin Nail failed to fully pierce the Starving Ghost's body, stopping mid-air, its tip already touching the black-green skin on the Starving Ghost's chest.
Just a little more, and it would have pierced!
Everything around stopped; Time seemed to become a concept, meaningless. Even Su Mu Bai's consciousness froze at this moment, ceasing thought.
After an unknown duration, perhaps an instant, perhaps a very long Time.
The scene within the gray-blue Ghost Domain began to change. The Coffin Nail pressed against the Starving Ghost's chest slowly retracted; the hand gripping Su Mu Bai's neck also pulled back.
The haze directly in front of Su Mu Bai, which was resisting his Ghost Domain, retreated backward.
The Starving Ghost's Figure disappeared from Su Mu Bai's side, returning to the end of the street, standing straight and stiff.
The scene in the gray-blue Ghost Domain was like a movie, except this movie seemed to have the reverse button pressed—it was playing backward!
The Black Mist Ghost Domain enveloping the one-meter radius around Su Mu Bai began to expand, spreading from one meter to two, three, four meters, finally stopping at five meters.
Su Mu Bai's Figure was also retreating backward. As his body moved back to the center of the street, the Coffin Nail in his hand was constantly swinging.
However, his movements looked extremely awkward.
After every swing of the rusty Coffin Nail, a cyan-gray gas would condense in front of Su Mu Bai, forming Ghost Infants.
These Ghost Infants were all those he had killed before, including every stage of Ghost Infant!
Everything that had originally happened in the Ghost Domain manifested, but the process was reversed.
.........
"Did it succeed?"
After an unknown amount of Time, Su Mu Bai, regaining his self-awareness, shuddered, and the Coffin Nail in his hand instinctively stabbed backward.
As expected, the Coffin Nail stabbed empty air.
"Huh? What is this?" Su Mu Bai quickly reacted and was stunned; the scene before him was somewhat beyond his expectations.
The haze drifted. At this moment, Su Mu Bai stood at the entrance of the street; there was nothing behind him, and the Coffin Nail had stabbed directly into the air.
In the street, dense Ghost Infants stood motionless, including Ghost Infants of all stages. They showed no reaction to Su Mu Bai standing at the street entrance.
At the end of the street, the gray-blue haze churned, extremely Dense, and a Figure could vaguely be seen standing within that haze.
"This is..."
"Restart?!"
Seeing this scene, Su Mu Bai's pitch-black Terrifying eyes widened, his black-green dead person's face filled with disbelief.
"A Separate Starving Ghost can perform an Area Restart?" Su Mu Bai was extremely shocked internally. "But how is that possible? Its Ghost Domain is only three layers..."
Just now, when Su Mu Bai was about to successfully drive the Coffin Nail into the Starving Ghost's body, he felt his mind momentarily dazed, as if his consciousness had blurred.
When Su Mu Bai regained clarity, the scene before him was exactly how it looked when he first came to this street through the passage on the third floor of the Hospital.
Even the standing positions of the Ghost Infants in the street were identical to before.
"No... that's not right! The end of the street, where the Starving Ghost is, is different from when I first entered." Su Mu Bai's gaze sharpened.
At the end of the street, a Street Lamp stood Eerily, emitting a strange Light.
Su Mu Bai remembered clearly that when he first arrived here, there was indeed such a Street Lamp at the end of the street, but at that time, the Street Lamp was off; now, the Light was on.
The Eerie Street Lamp emitted a somewhat Dim light, seemingly illuminating the Dense haze beneath it.
The Starving Ghost's Figure manifested in the haze.
Under the illumination of the Street Lamp, the Starving Ghost's shadow was cast upon the cement ground of the street.
Strangely, that shadow differed greatly from the Starving Ghost's actual Figure, as if they weren't the same entity at all!
.........
I think...
