Luke had ignored this unique class on first glance, however the reality of the scenario dawned on him as myriad of possibilities surfaced into his mind. Of course in plain sight the most reasonable class to choose was the healer class or rather if he gets lucky and reaches the village on time, he might even be given the chance to choose between the other s or s+ Grade classes.
But luke thought deeper, wider, if he completely healed himself then what gain would that have in the long run, he surely won’t be able to switch classes on scenarios were any mistakes committed would mean instant death.
How was fast healing going to save his head from being cut off, and not to ignore the fact that, the healer class does not complement the Undefeated one’s class in any way. If he his given the ability to take the form of any player, he would be able to communicate with NPCs while showing his face, he would be able to return to the uncanny hill village, without looking like he just clawed his way out of a serious battle.
He wouldn’t be under the constant oppression of the undefeated one’s class consistently, Luke eyes shown with delight under his undefeated one’s mask, he was already imagining various ways in which the class would be able to help him out.
Not to talk of the watchful gazes and superior enemies, he didn’t how they might act if he eventually rises into power, that was where the shape shifter class came in, his true identity would remain mysterious.
’I’ll go for the shape shifter class then. ’ Luke thought within himself. The Game’s system immediately spoke into his ears.

Luke stared at the screen with astonishment and a bit of suprise, he had expected the critical section to be something restrictive like the inability to assume his original form. But apparently he got lucky.
Luke then summoned the Codex to take a look at his new class.

Lule felt a bit dazed when staring at the symbols at first, then he slowly grasped the reason for the differences in the information each classes portrayed. He didn’t have a name or race because of the shape shifter class came with different personalities. He ignored the accessories and attributes.
He focused on the part of the codex were the name Chris was written and realized that there was more description underneath it.
He read inwards.

Without thinking Luke wondered yes, he already knew the Likely possible outcomes.
On delivering the mental message, the Undefeated One’s Mask vanished from his face, revealing Luke’s bloodied nostrils and mouth.
Luke felt his skin throb and in that instant overwhelming pain surged through him, his skin which was pale white gradually became more toned, his hair reduced in length, turning raven black.
Luke suppressed the pain writhing across his body through gritted teeth as each and everyone of his bones begun breaking and restructuring themselves from scratch, the pain was agonizing if not unbearable, it reached a point were luke felt like he might lose his life, he was already on the cusp of death before and now the transformation was only making it worse, as Luke felt like he was in his final moments the pain subsided.

Luke gained consciousness, he did not know how long had passed, whether it was hours or even days, but he was certain he was still resting on the blood vine fiend, alive and breathing, he could still feel pain in his body, but it was less excruciating than it was earlier, he could feel his heart beating at a steady pace, most of the blood he had lost had probably been restored. He smirked.
’It worked.’ His wounds had been patched up by his new skin, inside of his body was still largely the same, except for his bones. The mist was gone, only Luke remained laying on the ground on top of red blood vines.
Luke eyes opened, he was met by the familiar darkness of the chasm. He then felt a finger rest on his nostrils, he was momentarily stunned, he could made out the silhouette of a figure in the darkness.
"This one is still breathing!" A voice came from the individual who placed his finger on Luke’s nose. Luke recognized the owner of the voice as Crest, so they had come after all, probably for the money or for their guild or they just felt guilty for letting two scouts die in one day.
Luke wanted to respond but he didn’t, he was no more Luke for now, he was Chris and so he let Carter carry him, as it was time he got some proper treatment. Luke could hear other overlapping noises of rescuers but he wasn’t bothered by that at all, what he cared about was getting some rest.
However the voice of the game’s system intruded his thoughts.
