“I’ll send word to Naruto and Killer B immediately.” Tsunade understood that there was no time to waste, so she asked Ren and the others to remain there for the moment.
Naruto and Killer B were currently training on Island Turtle under the protection of a heavily guarded Allied Shinobi Forces unit.
Ren estimated that, under the guidance of the Eight-Tails jinchūriki, Naruto had already begun to master Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.
Meanwhile, Brunhilde received a summons from the divine realm.
Before leaving, she warned Ren to prepare carefully for Ragnarok.
The tournament could begin within the next few days, leaving them with very little time.
“Lady Tsunade, I heard you wanted to see me.” Might Guy knocked before entering the room.
When he saw the legendary figures gathered inside, two beads of sweat immediately formed on his face.
He respectfully greeted the First, Second, and Fourth Hokage.
“Guy, congratulations.” Tsunade looked at him.
“You have been selected as one of humanity’s thirteen fighters.” “You will carry the fate of the human race into battle against the gods.
Don’t disappoint us.” Although she said that, Tsunade still did not fully understand the decision.
Might Guy was certainly a powerful jōnin, but even the Five Kage and the Second Hokage had been excluded.
Why had one of the thirteen places gone to him?
Was it because of the Eight Gates?
Tsunade frowned slightly.
Could that technique truly be powerful enough to justify his selection?
“What?” Guy stared at her.
“I was chosen to fight the gods?” He already understood what Ragnarok was, but he had never imagined that he would be selected.
There were many shinobi stronger and more famous than him.
Why would the position fall to someone like him?
“Ren-sama was the one who selected you.” Tsunade gestured toward Ren.
“If you want to thank anyone, thank him.” Guy’s disbelief rapidly turned into excitement.
Watching his reaction, Tsunade felt strangely discouraged.
The fate of humanity was at stake, yet none of the Five Kage had been chosen.
They were supposed to be the strongest shinobi of their respective villages, but even Might Guy had earned a position while they had not qualified as substitutes.
The other four Kage felt much the same.
Had they ever witnessed Guy after he opened the Gate of Death, they would have understood how foolish those thoughts were.
In that state, Guy’s power would far surpass that of the Five Kage.
That was also why Ren saw no reason to waste time explaining.
“Thank you, Ren-sama!” Guy’s eyes seemed to ignite.
“I will let my youth burn and win a victory for humanity!” Ren nodded.
“Guy, you must enter this battle prepared to sacrifice your life.” Guy immediately understood.
Ren was warning him that he would likely need to open the Gate of Death.
Rather than showing fear, his excitement only grew.
“I have always been ready to risk my life in battle.” Guy clenched his fist.
“I simply never encountered an opponent who demanded everything I had.” “If such an enemy stands before me, then my youth will burn until its final moment!” He flashed his signature thumbs-up and revealed a brilliant white smile.
Ren nodded approvingly.
He genuinely admired Guy.
He had possessed no extraordinary bloodline or natural gift, yet through relentless effort, he had reached a level where he could stand beside gods.
“This man seems rather foolish.” Madara could not help laughing at Guy’s enthusiastic display.
Ren reached over and patted him on the head.
“Be careful.
He may kick you in the face one day.” Madara’s smile immediately stiffened.
Near a bridge, Guy found Kakashi shortly after leaving the meeting.
“Kakashi!
Did you hear?” Guy rushed toward his longtime rival.
“I’ve been selected as one of humanity’s thirteen fighters!” “What?” Kakashi stared at him.
“You’re not joking, are you?” The battle between humanity and the gods was being discussed by legendary figures such as Madara and the First Hokage, along with the Five Kage.
How had Guy become involved in something of that scale?
“Hahaha!
You didn’t expect it, did you?” Guy planted his hands on his hips.
“I will carry the fate of humanity into battle against the Twelve Chief Gods!” “Konoha’s Sublime Green Beast of Prey will unleash the full power of youth in the Ragnarok arena!” Guy was clearly enjoying the recognition.
That was understandable.
In a shinobi world filled with extraordinary warriors, being chosen as one of only thirteen fighters was proof that his strength had finally been acknowledged.
Kakashi needed several moments to process it.
Then a frightening thought occurred to him.
“They aren’t expecting you to use that technique, are they?” His expression became anxious.
“If you open the final gate, you will die.” The Gate of Death granted unimaginable power.
But the price was Guy’s life.
“It’s all right.” Guy gave him another bright smile and raised his thumb.
“That is what youth is all about.” “Guy…” Kakashi stared at his closest friend.
He had not expected Guy to accept death so calmly.
“Kakashi, when did you become so afraid of dying?” A spiral formed in the air.
Obito appeared on the bridge.
