” “Madara Uchiha.” While the group was traveling, Itachi suddenly spoke.
“There is a masked man outside using your identity and carrying your Uchiha Gunbai.
Were you aware of that?” It was clear that Itachi cared deeply about the masked man’s true identity.
“Of course I knew.” Madara answered without hesitation.
“I was the one who told him to do it.” He did not seem particularly hostile toward Itachi despite the fact that they were both Uchiha.
“What?” Itachi’s eyes widened.
“You ordered him to impersonate you?” He quickly continued, “Then who is the masked man really?
He possesses the Sharingan, so is he actually a member of the Uchiha Clan?” The masked man had helped Itachi slaughter the Uchiha Clan.
Itachi had been forced to do it because of circumstances beyond his control.
But if the masked man was also an Uchiha, how had he been able to kill his own clansmen without hesitation?
Had he been born into the Uchiha Clan while secretly harboring a deep hatred for it?
Countless possibilities flashed through Itachi’s mind.
“That man?” Madara gave him a faint smile.
“You should have heard of him.” “He was once the most famous failure in the entire Uchiha Clan.
Does that sound familiar?” Madara no longer cared about concealing Obito’s identity.
“The masked man is Obito Uchiha?” Itachi was stunned.
Obito’s reputation as a hopeless underachiever had once been known throughout the clan.
How had someone like that grown so powerful?
Itachi could not understand it.
“Obito was never a natural genius.” Madara continued, “But his potential was exceptionally high.” As he spoke, he glanced at Amagiri Ren and watched his reaction closely.
Amagiri Ren’s expression remained completely calm, as though none of this surprised him.
“You already knew, didn’t you, Ren-sama?” Madara asked cautiously.
“I know every secret in this world.” Amagiri Ren replied indifferently.
“Including the ones you do not know.” He silently thought that if he revealed how Black Zetsu would eventually betray Madara, the man would probably lose his mind on the spot.
“As expected of you, Ren-sama.” Madara laughed.
He sounded respectful, but part of him remained skeptical.
Knowing every secret in the world?
Wasn’t that claim a little excessive?
Even so, Madara did not dare test him.
If Amagiri Ren truly knew everything and exposed the Eye of the Moon Plan, Madara would be placed in a very difficult position.
“Madara.” Tobirama narrowed his eyes.
“You seem to be hiding something.” His instincts told him that Madara was concealing a scheme.
“Tobirama, what are you talking about?” Madara immediately changed the subject.
“Ren-sama has already told us to set aside our personal grudges.” “Our priority is defeating our shared enemy—the gods.” He even used Amagiri Ren’s words to silence Tobirama.
“Madara, I never expected you to become this dishonest after all these years.” Tobirama snorted and said nothing further.
He quietly glanced at Amagiri Ren, worried that he might be reprimanded again.
Amagiri Ren showed no reaction.
He was thinking about something else.
“Obito may be difficult to persuade.” Among all the candidates Amagiri Ren had chosen, Obito was probably the hardest to recruit.
The man was stubborn to the point of obsession.
He would not care whether humanity survived or was destroyed.
Asking him to fight for the fate of mankind was unlikely to work.
“He would dare refuse?” Madara asked coldly.
“If he refuses, I’ll beat him until he agrees.” Madara sounded completely confident, as though Obito were still the obedient child who followed his every command.
Amagiri Ren shook his head.
If only everything could be resolved that easily.
The Land of Earth.
The group gradually approached Obito’s hideout.
“We’ve been detected.” Tobirama suddenly warned them.
“It’s Zetsu.” Madara noticed the strange, plant-like figure disappearing into the ground.
“Leave him.
Let him warn Obito.” He made no attempt to stop Zetsu.
“This world grows stranger every moment…” Brunhilde frowned.
The people and creatures of this world seemed to ignore ordinary rules entirely.
Yet that only made her more excited.
Surely these shinobi would surprise the gods.
Inside Obito’s hideout, Zetsu emerged from the ground with sweat covering his face.
“We have a serious problem.” “What happened?” Obito turned around.
“Have the Allied Shinobi Forces begun their attack?” He wore a three-tomoe Rinnegan-pattern mask and held Madara’s signature Uchiha Gunbai in one hand.
“No.” “Then what happened?
Speak.” “Madara Uchiha is here.” “What did you say?” Obito could no longer remain calm.
What did Zetsu mean by saying that Madara Uchiha was here?
“It isn’t only Madara.” Zetsu continued quickly.
“Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju are with him.” “So are Itachi Uchiha and Nagato.” Zetsu finished the report in a single breath, then began panting as though he needed an entire pitcher of water to calm himself.
“Kabuto betrayed me?” Obito’s anger surged.
His first thought was that Kabuto had reanimated Madara, Hashirama, and Tobirama.
After all, Kabuto was probably the only person in the world capable of reviving Madara.
During their earlier negotiations, Kabuto had even used Madara’s reanimated body as leverage against him.
“It’s been a long time, Obito.” Before Obito and Zetsu could respond, Madara and the others had already entered the hideout.
