Obito!
9: Madara Uchiha vs.
Obito!
“It’s been a long time, Obito.” Madara’s gaze shifted slightly.
“And you too, Zetsu.” Standing before Obito and Zetsu in the prime of his life, Madara greeted them with complete ease.
The two across from him were nowhere near as relaxed.
“Madara Uchiha…” Obito spoke the name with a complicated expression, his voice unusually heavy.
“He’s been brought back with Impure World Reincarnation.” Zetsu was more concerned about Madara’s current condition.
The man before them might not truly be speaking of his own free will.
Kabuto could simply be controlling Madara’s body from somewhere else.
“There’s no need to keep guessing.” Amagiri Ren stepped forward and threw the restrained Kabuto onto the ground.
“Kabuto is irrelevant.
I summoned these people.” “The gods have arranged a tournament called Ragnarok, and they intend to destroy humanity if we lose.” Amagiri Ren briefly explained what had happened, then informed Obito that his name was already on the list of fighters.
“Who are you?” Obito ignored the most important part—the coming battle between humans and gods—and focused entirely on Amagiri Ren’s identity.
“As expected, this is going to be troublesome.” Amagiri Ren rubbed his forehead.
Obito’s reaction was exactly what he had anticipated.
Fortunately, Amagiri Ren did not need to explain much himself.
Madara stepped forward and introduced him as an ancient figure who had existed for countless years and knew every secret of the shinobi world.
“You expect me to believe that simply because you say so?” Obito’s response remained flat.
His words were directed at both Amagiri Ren and Madara.
Madara’s expression immediately darkened.
Only then did he properly examine Obito’s eyes.
One was a Sharingan.
The other was a Rinnegan.
“Obito, you’ve grown quite a bit since we last met.” Madara’s tone became colder.
“But shouldn’t you return that Rinnegan to me?” “You are currently an Impure World Reincarnation.” Obito answered calmly.
“I have no way of knowing whether these are truly your wishes or the wishes of the person controlling you.” “For that reason, I cannot give you the Rinnegan.” It was a convenient excuse.
Obito clearly intended to keep the eye for himself.
His ambitions had grown considerably.
“Hahahahaha!” Madara suddenly burst into laughter.
It was the laughter of a man whose anger had reached its limit.
“The fledgling I once kept protected beneath my wing has finally learned to fly.” His chakra erupted violently around him.
“So now you believe you are strong enough to ignore me?” One arm of his Susanoo began to form.
If Madara chose to continue, he could manifest his Perfect Susanoo in an instant.
“Obito Uchiha.” Madara stared at him.
“Are you choosing to become my enemy?” “There is no question of choosing sides.” Obito remained ready for battle.
“I don’t know whether you are truly Madara or merely someone using his body.” “The Fourth Shinobi World War has already begun.” “If you came here to stop me, then attack.” Obito had no fear of fighting.
His entire focus remained on the war and the Eye of the Moon Plan.
He did not believe the story about the Valkyries or Ragnarok.
As far as he was concerned, these people had simply come to oppose him.
Brunhilde stepped forward to explain again.
Obito did not listen.
He flicked his wrist and sent a shuriken carrying an explosive tag flying toward her.
A massive chakra hand caught it in midair.
It was Madara’s Susanoo.
The explosive tag detonated, but the blast did not leave even a mark on the armored construct.
“Very well.” Madara’s voice turned murderous.
“Then die.” His Perfect Susanoo rose in full.
The towering warrior drew its sword and slashed directly at Obito.
The strike unleashed a violent gale, scattering dust and shattered stone in every direction.
It carried enough power to cut down a mountain.
Brunhilde and Göll stared in shock, barely able to remain standing beneath the pressure.
Yet when the blade passed through Obito, it caused no damage at all.
It simply moved through his body as though he were not there.
“What happened?” Brunhilde’s eyes widened.
She could not understand what she had just seen.
Was the masked man’s body an illusion?
Did he have no physical form?
The two Valkyries had never encountered such a method of fighting.
Madara, however, understood Obito’s Sharingan ability.
Obito had used Kamui to shift the targeted parts of his body into another dimension.
That was why attacks appeared to pass straight through him.
“How long do you think you can hide in that dimension?” Madara attacked again and again.
He gave Obito no chance to breathe, forcing him to maintain Kamui continuously to avoid every strike.
Although Obito was also an Uchiha, he could not use Susanoo in his current state.
In a direct confrontation, the difference between him and Madara was enormous.
“Don’t underestimate me!” Obito formed a series of hand seals.
“Wood Style: Great Forest Technique!” Thick trees erupted from the ground and wrapped around Madara’s Susanoo, attempting to restrain it.
“Oh?” Tobirama glanced at Hashirama.
“That looks like an inferior version of your Deep Forest Emergence.” He smirked.
“Should we show this former Uchiha dead last what real Wood Style looks like?” “Madara can handle him.” Hashirama shook his head.
As expected, Madara’s Susanoo swung its sword several times.
The massive trees were instantly cut apart.
