It was already nearing evening, and Yang Ming’s group was returning to their territory in an orderly fashion.
Across the wilderness, weeds grew everywhere, and from time to time, strange, towering black shadows could be seen flashing past.
“Report, lord!”
After walking for half an hour, the soldier scouting at the front suddenly sent back a warning:
“We spotted enemies five hundred meters ahead—a group of lewd-looking goblins.”
“Goblins? Come on, let’s take a look.” Yang Ming frowned.
Yang Ming gestured for the main force behind him to follow.
Following the scout’s directions, Yang Ming climbed a hillside and looked toward the area five hundred meters away.
On a stretch of barren land ahead, more than a hundred short goblins were waving their arms excitedly.
“Hmm? There are people too?”
After observing carefully, Yang Ming discovered that the goblins had captured a group of human girls.
The girls lay helplessly on the ground, staring in terror at the goblin army surrounding them.
“Hahaha!” Seeing the young women with ample breasts and rounded hips, the goblin chieftain could not contain his delight. He laughed loudly and said, “Brothers, tie all these women up and bring them back. We’ll enjoy a feast tonight.”
The girls instinctively covered their collars and asked in terror:
“What are you planning to do?”
The goblin chieftain laughed wickedly and said:
“Heh heh heh... We goblins hate wasting anything. Delicate young women like you are perfect for bearing children.”
A girl wearing a golden crown said furiously:
“You shameless beasts! If you dare do that to us, the Goddess of Light will never forgive you.”
The goblin chieftain gave a contemptuous smile and threatened:
“Dare? What is there that we goblins don’t dare do? We dare do anything! Brothers, do you dare?”
“We dare!” the goblin army shouted in unison.
The goblin chieftain laughed again and declared:
“That’s the spirit, brothers! Line up tonight, and I guarantee every one of you gets a share!”
“Yay!”
“The chieftain is wise!”
The goblins all cheered happily.
After all, the goblin race could not reproduce on its own and had to abduct females of other races.
【Ding~ You have triggered a D-grade free-choice quest: Girls and Beasts.】
【This quest allows considerable freedom. Different choices will trigger different endings. Choose any one of the following four options.】
【A】: Defeat the evil goblin army and save the distressed girls. You will have a certain chance of gaining the favor of the Goddess of Light.
【B】: Stand by and respect their fate.
【C】: Join the goblin army and line up together tonight.
【D】: Kill them all, burn, slaughter, and plunder. This uncle only wants money!
“Huh? Another quest triggered?” Yang Ming was shocked. His luck was pretty good today.
After browsing the quest in its entirety, Yang Ming chose the first option without hesitation.
There was no other reason. Yang Ming urgently needed natives to increase the population of Huaxia City, so he had to save these humans.
Before that, however, Yang Ming needed to scan the attributes of the goblin chieftain.
【Name】: goblin chieftain.
【Quality tier】: fine grade.
【Combat power】: 86.
【Skill】: Enlargement（D-grade, which can enlarge and extend any part of the user’s body while greatly increasing attack and defensive power.）
Hmm, with only 86 points of combat power, it posed no threat at all. Yang Ming relaxed.
“Everyone, heed my command! Attack! Wipe out those goblins!” Yang Ming issued the order to attack.
There were more than a hundred goblins, so Yang Ming did not need to intervene. They were perfect for the warriors to use as training.
Upon hearing Yang Ming’s order, the warriors charged toward the goblin army like horses freed from their reins.
Because of the tremendous commotion, the goblins quickly reacted.
“What’s going on? Why are there so many human soldiers?” The goblins panicked at once.
With more than a hundred fighting against over a thousand, the goblins’ disadvantage was obvious.
“Quick, run!” The goblin chieftain broke into a cold sweat. The ferocious human army bearing down on them robbed him of any thought of resistance.
In an instant, the goblin army fled in disarray.
“Brothers, retreat!” The goblin chieftain desperately blocked the human assault, covering his tribesmen’s retreat.
But it was useless.
Faced with the overwhelming advantage in numbers, the goblins were no match.
After only ten minutes, the goblins had suffered heavy casualties. Of the more than a hundred goblins originally present, fewer than twenty remained.
The warriors had already surrounded the goblins.
“Brothers, get up! Don’t give up so easily! I’ll lead you out!” The goblin chieftain continued resisting desperately, refusing to surrender.
The goblin chieftain brandished a massive spiked mace, leaped high, and severely wounded two human warriors.
“Whoosh!”
But this exposed its back, and two Tang Hengdao blades plunged straight into it.
“Aaah! Damn humans! I’ll fight you to the death!”
The goblin chieftain roared furiously and swung its left arm down, knocking back the human warriors behind it while smashing two skulls with a single blow.
Although the goblin chieftain grew more valiant the longer it fought, it had no chance of winning this doomed struggle.
Before long, every goblin except it had been killed.
“Humans, you dared hurt my brothers! I’ll make you pay in blood!”
The goblin chieftain completely descended into madness.
It swung the spiked mace furiously like a madman.
In an instant, seven or eight human warriors were sent flying by the crazed goblin and suffered severe injuries.
“All together! Take down the goblin chieftain.” Having witnessed its strength, the warriors rushed forward as one.
In the end, the goblin chieftain lacked the power to defy fate and was stabbed through the heart by a Tang Hengdao.
“Humans, you...” The goblin chieftain’s body shuddered as blood flowed from its heart.
Immediately afterward, two more Tang Hengdao blades swept across, severing both its arms.
“Damn you, humans! How dare you...” A large amount of blood poured from the goblin chieftain’s mouth. It was just about to say something when, in the next instant, a broadsword hacked toward its neck.
“Crack!”
The goblin chieftain’s head flew high into the air before finally landing on the ground.
Yang Ming’s army won the battle with ease.
The human girls, who had been plunged into despair, trembled with excitement upon seeing Yang Ming arrive like divine reinforcements from heaven.
“We’re saved!” The girls wept tears of joy.
A girl wearing a red-and-white shrine maiden outfit, with a full figure and long golden hair, excitedly stood up and walked before Yang Ming. She said respectfully:
“Great lord, we are believers of the Church of the Goddess of Light. Thank you for saving us. The goddess will bless you.”
“The Church of the Goddess of Light?” Yang Ming looked at her in confusion.
At the same time, Yang Ming took in all her information.
【Name】: Anna.
【Quality tier】: fine grade.
【Combat power】: 11.
【Potential】: Three stars.
【Talent】: holy light healing（C-grade, possessing a trace of the Goddess of Light’s healing power. It can treat most injuries; even people whose arms and legs have been severed can be fully healed.）
“Holy crap, she’s a bona fide healer!” Yang Ming blurted out instinctively.
Being able to heal severed hands and feet—this healing ability far surpassed modern medicine. It was practically miraculous.
