Half an hour later, just as Nan Yin’s takeout arrived, Fu Shi’s assistant also delivered an even more luxurious sushi set.
Seeing the extravagant sushi set placed on her desk by the assistant, Nan Yin was a bit stunned. “Did you buy this?”
The assistant certainly couldn’t afford this three-thousand-plus-yuan tuna and caviar sushi—it was way too expensive. As a working stiff, he couldn’t bring himself to spend that much.
“No, no, our President Fu said it’s to thank you for the collaboration and ordered it for you,” the assistant quickly clarified. “Oh, and President Fu said not to overthink it.”
Although that last part seemed a bit like protesting too much, the assistant had to relay Fu Shi’s words exactly as instructed.
Nan Yin opened the sushi box and glanced at the luxurious rice balls inside, her bright red lips curling into a light smile. “Thank President Fu for me.”
Having completed his task, the assistant didn’t want to disturb Nan Yin’s lunch. “You’re too kind, Miss Nan. You’re our partner, so please enjoy.”
Nan Yin nodded. “Thank you.”
Once the assistant left, Nan Yin immediately picked up a piece of sushi, snapped a photo, and sent it to Fu Shi: [President Fu, being so polite? The sushi is delicious, thank you.]
Seeing her reply, Fu Shi restrained himself and didn’t respond. Taking the initiative to order her takeout today was already an exception—he couldn’t let himself be captivated by her again.
Fu Shi didn’t reply to the message, but Nan Yin wasn’t worried. She leisurely ate the sushi he’d sent. Halfway through, Wen Ling returned and, upon entering, spotted the sushi box on the desk.
She hurried over, reaching for a piece. “Sis, keeping all the good stuff to yourself? If I’d known you were ordering sushi, I wouldn’t have gone down to eat.”
Although the cafeteria food was pretty good and tasty, sushi wasn’t bad either, right?
Nan Yin smiled. “Here, I ordered an extra portion. You can have it.”
Wen Ling quickly took it. “Thanks, sis. Oh, by the way, why did you order two sets?”
Nan Yin wiped the rice grains off her fingers with a tissue. “The one I’m eating was sent by Fu Shi.”
No wonder… Wen Ling had thought it strange that Nan Yin was eating so much sushi today. She usually only ate three pieces, but today she’d already polished off half a box.
“So it’s from your future brother-in-law,” Wen Ling said, proving herself a smooth talker. She knew exactly what to say to please Nan Yin.
Nan Yin was delighted by the remark and chuckled. “Since your mouth is so sweet, why don’t you take the rest of this box too?”
Wen Ling waved her hand. “No, no, that’s from your brother-in-law. You should eat it. This is enough for me.”
As Wen Ling picked up the sushi box to savor it slowly elsewhere, Nan Yin handed her the design draft from the desk. “I’ve finished the initial sketch. Help me color it and tweak the details. Get it back to me before we clock out. I’m going to hang out in his office for a bit.”
With that, Nan Yin headed out.
Wen Ling accepted the task. “Sis, have fun with your brother-in-law!”
Nan Yin gave her an OK sign before leaving.
Fu Shi hadn’t returned from the court yet, and his office was locked, so Nan Yin couldn’t get in. She turned around and went to find Qin Deng instead. When Qin Deng heard she wanted to wait for President Fu in his office, the straightforward, simple-minded guy couldn’t resist the request from such a beauty like Nan Yin. He obediently handed over the key to unlock the office door.
“Assistant Qin, I’ll wait inside,” Nan Yin said as she entered, smiling. “Don’t worry, I won’t cause any trouble.”
Qin Deng nodded her head cutely and replied, “It’s fine, all of our President Fu’s confidential documents are in the safe.”
Nan Yin smiled. “Okay.”
After closing the office door, Nan Yin sat down on his sofa.
The sofa was very soft.
It was quite comfortable, so Nan Yin simply took off her high heels and sat on it, playing with her phone while waiting for the man to return.
Half an hour, an hour—time slowly passed.
Nan Yin grew drowsy from waiting, but Fu Shi still hadn’t returned. Just as she thought he wouldn’t come back to the company today, there was finally movement at the office door.
The man turned the unlocked door and entered. As soon as he stepped in, he saw the petite woman sitting on the sofa waiting for him. Fu Shi’s eyes darkened instantly. “How did you get in?”
No wonder he had just noticed the lock was open when he turned it.
Had she come in?
“I just came in when I wanted to.” Nan Yin didn’t want to betray Qin Deng, the innocent little assistant. “Are you done with your business dinner?”
Fu Shi closed the office door and looked at the person on the sofa. She was wearing a form-fitting white cheongsam that accentuated her figure, her long legs casually and gracefully resting on the sofa.
She looked like a charming little fox.
“Yes, it’s over. What do you need from me? Is the design draft ready?” Fu Shi spoke in a businesslike tone.
Nan Yin shook her head. “It’s not colored yet.”
“By the way, come here.”
The little woman was really good at ordering people around. “Come help me. I’ve been waiting for you for so long. My foot is numb from being tucked under my leg, and I can’t get up.”
Fu Shi frowned and didn’t move at first, until Nan Yin said in a spoiled tone, “It’s really numb. Are you going to make me crawl down?”
“Don’t move.” The man sighed, walked over, and reached out to grab her slender arm, intending to help her up. Seeing this, Nan Yin instead grabbed his wrist.
His wrist bone was strong.
Holding it gave the illusion of touching steel.
It was clearly the wrist of someone who exercised regularly—too powerful.
Nan Yin felt a craving again.
Her fingertips tightly wrapped around the man’s wrist as she reached out and actively circled his waist, pulling him down forcefully. Fu Shi was already bending over to help her up.
His center of gravity was unstable to begin with, and with her pull, the man grunted and fell onto her soft body.
The impact was a bit heavy, and Nan Yin winced in pain, but it was nothing.
She had finally managed to hold this man.
“Tomorrow is the class reunion. Are you going?” The little woman wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her, charmingly enticing him. “I want you to come with me.”
Fu Shi’s eyes darkened as he looked at the delicate, rose-like face so close to his. His throat tightened intensely, and he reached out to push her away, only to be held tightly by her. He struggled slightly, but she clung even tighter.
It was like a water snake coiled around his waist.
Leaving him unable to move.
And then, afraid of hurting her, he didn’t dare use force.
He could only be forced to press against her. “I’m not going.”
“Let go. I don’t want to hurt you.”
Nan Yin didn’t let go, smiling brightly. “How would you hurt me?”
“From above or below?”
Fu Shi: …
“Flirting in broad daylight? Aren’t you afraid of getting burned?”
Nan Yin shook her head. “I’m not afraid.”
“Do I only flirt with you during the day or night?”
“Besides, you’re so cold. Even if I ignite a fire, you’d just freeze it out.” This little mouth was truly skilled with words. Fu Shi couldn’t help but chuckle.
That laugh was wild.
Nan Yin stared with wide eyes, and the next second, the petite woman swallowed her own saliva, bit her red lips, then released them. Finally, seizing the moment when the man opened his mouth to speak, she raised her head and actively pressed her lips against his thin ones.
His lips were thin and cold.
But strangely, his breath smelled pleasant and refreshing.
The moment Nan Yin kissed him, her mind exploded like fireworks, her gaze flickering as she bit his lips and kissed him fiercely: “Fu Shi, I like you! I’ve liked you for so long…”
Not only had she liked him for a long time, but she also liked him deeply, very deeply.
He might not believe it, but he had always been the man who filled the most beautiful canvas of her youth and memories during her three years of high school!
Those tender and wonderful years.
He was like a bright moon, hanging before her eyes, visible yet unattainable.
Now, at last, she was about to pluck him with her own hands—how could she ever let go?
