She tilted her head back slowly, studying the towering stone ridges of the ancient monument.

It loomed into the sky with a ruthless dominance, making it seem as if the monolith were swallowing both the horizon and the clouds whole.

Her cold fingers nervously toyed with the hem of her brand-new, navy-blue uniform blazer in a suppressed tremor, trying to smooth out the polished fabric as if she could appease the wild, roaring tempest trapped inside her chest.Full novel: One Man Is Not Enough For Me: Fated To Four Alphas — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her heart hammered violently against her ribs.

A human girl in the very heart of werewolf territory was never a passing coincidence, nor was it a free scholarship handed out by a merciful fate.

She knew exactly what she was doing.

She was taking her first step onto a minefield soaked in blood, where there was absolutely no room for error.

A single misstep here didn’t mean expulsion; it meant certain death.

A sudden masculine voice ripped through her tangled thoughts from behind.

It was rough and grating, carrying a sharp rasp like two heavy stones colliding in a bottomless canyon.

“A nobody human who lost her way…

and it looks like she doesn’t even have a brain to guide her.” Roxy turned around with agonizing slowness, careful not to betray a single trace of agitation.

He stood just a few paces away, his towering, broad-shouldered physique cutting off the light behind him, while the cold breeze toyed with the strands of his pitch-black hair waving around his sharply chiseled face.

The young man locked his icily gleaming green eyes directly onto her a professional predator assessing every detail of a weak prey before the pounce.

He confidently raised his hand to adjust the lapel of his own navy-blue jacket, identical to hers, as if proudly declaring his superiority within the exact same uniform.

Roxy didn’t retreat a single step.

On the contrary, she relaxed her tense shoulders with smooth confidence, her lips parting into a cold, indifferent smile that cut right through his silence.

“Yes, I am quite lost…” She tilted her head, her gaze dripping with defiance.

“But tell me, why don’t you be my obedient little dog and herd me in the right direction?” The young man’s entire body went rigid instantly.

The mockery vanished from his face as his blue eyes shook for a fraction of a second, widening in a stunned disbelief he couldn’t hide.

A heavy, suffocating silence gripped the space, so absolute that the sound of their breathing was loud.

Humans in this isolated society were supposed to be nothing but cowardly ghosts, creatures trembling in dark corners and bowing their heads to the dirt in humiliation even before the weakest Omega.

He took a ferocious step forward, erasing the distance between them, the veins in his neck bulging and swelling with a sweeping rage as the words caught in his throat like a suppressed growl.

“I don’t think you know who you’re talking to, redhead…

Your ignorance will lead you straight to your grave.” Roxy met him head-on, without a single blink or a change in her steady stare.

“I don’t need to know you.

Names don’t matter to me as long as the behavior is all the same.” Cayden stepped even closer, trapping the air in the narrow gap separating them.

His voice dropped to a low, lethal hiss that practically brushed her face.

“Your little act and fake confidence won’t work here, human…

Crushing you is easier than you think.” Roxy shrugged with absolute indifference, thoroughly enjoying the sparks flying from his eyes.

She slowly raised her hand and pointed her finger toward the distant horizon.

“See that massive tree over there?” Driven by a furious curiosity, Cayden’s enraged gaze snapped toward the designated spot against his will, his brow furrowing so deeply his eyebrows nearly met.

“Yeah, I see it…

What about it?” Roxy turned her entire body toward the large inner gates, carelessly throwing her back to him with immense confidence as she hurled her final words over her shoulder.

“I saw a bone thrown right next to its trunk on my way in…

Go fetch, knock yourself out.

Maybe you’ll find something to keep you busy and out of my way.” She walked away with firm, confident strides, her feet striking the ground hard as she crossed the academy’s threshold without looking back.

She left Cayden rooting his feet into the pavement, his fists clenching with blind fury until his knuckles turned stark white, his ragged, scorching breaths burning the cold air from the sheer weight of an insult no one had ever dared throw at him before.

Crossing the threshold, Roxy found herself in the center of a vast courtyard that felt like a fully integrated mini-town rather than a traditional schoolyard.

Endless green lawns rolled out before her eyes, their grassy edges dissolving into the distant horizon.

In the middle of this green paradise sat a shimmering lake, clear as a massive mirror reflecting the golden rays of the sun.

From the heart of the lake pulsed a giant, intricately carved stone fountain, spraying a fine mist high into the air that crisped the fresh breeze with the scent of dew.

Scattered carefully under the shade of the lush trees, the wooden benches buzzed with an unnatural vitality groups of students talking in sharp, whispered tones, others running with a supernatural, gravity-defying lightness that mocked human capability, and a few sitting in absolute silence, contemplating the distance with gleaming eyes.

Roxy didn’t look back at the blatant, curious stares or the poisonous whispers that immediately began tracking her human silhouette, which was entirely different from theirs.

The natural fear of being the only clawless, powerless creature in this rowdy pack didn’t even cross her mind.

Instead, her eyes scanned the grounds with a hungry intelligence, devouring every small detail and studying their movements like a player analyzing a chessboard.

Deep within her, a full realization of the bottomless canyon separating her human world from theirs took root.

She knew absolutely nothing about their nature.

How did they think?

What did their sharp, mysterious stares hide?

How were the balances of power and domination wielded in this hidden world of theirs?

To her, this vast territory and its towering buildings were a closed book written in an ancient language she couldn’t comprehend.

All she wanted and sought right now was to crack the code of this shadowy society and strip away whatever lay beneath the imposing, terrifying aura surrounding the inhabitants.

The atmosphere around her wasn’t welcoming in the slightest.

The predatory gazes cutting across the courtyard toward her dripped with condescension and superiority, tracking her every footstep with a blatant mockery and disgust they didn’t even try to hide.

Broken whispers drifted on the cold wind, thick with hidden threats and malicious plots to shatter her pride and humiliate her, as if they were already preparing the ground to turn her upcoming days into an unbearable, living hell.

But Roxy kept walking, her chin held high in quiet majesty, treating their mocking jeers and angry grunts like the buzzing of annoying insects beneath her notice.

She walked through the wide wooden doors of the main building, greeted instantly by a wave of indoor warmth radiating from stone fireplaces.

A deep, resonant voice echoed down the vast hallway with a familiar tone of welcome.

“Roxy…

Welcome to the academy.” Roxy’s lips parted into a calm smile, the rigidity vanishing from her features as she met the source of the voice with a grateful tone.

“Hello, Professor Simon…

Thank you for the welcome.” The imposing figure of Alpha Professor Simon shifted, his physique oozing power and authority.

He waved his hand for her to follow, commenting in a calm tone, “I hope the academy, with its facilities and atmosphere, has met your approval at first glance.” She kept pace with him, replying with clever brevity, “It’s a truly fascinating place…

beautiful and intriguing.” Signs of satisfaction appeared on his face as he nodded.

“I am glad to hear that from you…

Follow me to my office, please.

We have much to discuss.” Roxy walked in step beside him with balanced strides, her eyes lifting to admire the impossibly high ceiling where strange, complexly symbolic engravings snaked across the surface.

They were intricately carved like massive stone serpents recounting ancient conflicts and a history entirely unknown to humans.

They continued walking through the long corridors until their steps finally halted before a massive door made of rare, polished red timber.

Emblazoned on it in raised golden letters that caught the light was the clear name: *Professor Simon Campbell*.

He pushed the heavy door open, revealing a spacious office rich with the scent of aged wood, old leather-bound books, and luxury furniture that reflected its owner’s status.

Alpha Simon walked confidently with measured steps toward his plush leather chair, sinking into it and leaning back with the ease of a leader.

He then gestured with his strong-fingered hand toward the wooden chair directly opposite him.

“Sit and rest, Roxy.

The journey was long.” Roxy settled into the seat with stability, smoothing down the edges of her navy jacket with deliberate care as she began speaking in a serious tone.

“Thank you again, Professor Simon, for granting me this precious opportunity and allowing me into this world.” The Professor interlaced his fingers over the polished wooden desk, leaning forward slightly as his tone dropped into a deeper, starker register, stripping away his previous warmth.

“No need to repeat your thanks…

But you must understand and realize that this academy is a brutal place to survive and live in, even for the Werewolves themselves, who were born with power in their blood, Roxy.” His golden eyes didn’t waver for a single second as he pressed on, monitoring her reaction.

“For that exact reason, you being a lone human girl here…

your existence will be like a small ant trying to defeat a giant elephant.” The cool composure and stability on Roxy’s face didn’t crack.

She showed no signs of fear or retreat.

On the contrary, her smile slowly widened, displaying a confidence that nearly stunned the Alpha sitting before her.

She replied in an incredibly calm, steady voice.

“Professor Simon, your comparison makes the massive scale of the obstacles I will face perfectly clear.

But with all due respect to your person…

an ant really can take down an elephant and bring it to the ground, if it knows exactly where to bite and uncovers its weak spots.” A deep, boisterous masculine laugh boomed from Simon’s chest, echoing through the vast room and rattling the very corners of the office.

He went quiet suddenly, contemplating her with eyes flashing with distinct admiration and respect for her courage.

“Ah, Roxy…

my choice to bring you here, defying everyone, wasn’t a mistake at all.

From the very first day I met you, I’ve been deeply impressed by your sharp wit and unexpected answers that practically force a man to listen and pay attention.” She tilted her head slightly to the side, a carefully calculated touch of feigned modesty brushing her face.

“You flatter me, Professor.

I hope to always live up to your expectations.” The broad smile instantly vanished from Professor Simon’s face in a single second, replaced by a stern mask of sharp gravity fitting for an Alpha leader.

He locked his gaze directly into her eyes with absolute precision, weighing his next words and their impact on her like a sensitive scale.

“Now, the welcome is over…

I am going to explain the strict academy regulations, the hierarchy rank, and the caste system in full, without omission.

Focus very carefully on every single word and every single letter I say, because your very life here depends on this understanding.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Z_Hira This is my first time writing about werewolves and my first time writing in the third person.

I literally know nothing about this world, just like my heroine Roxy, but I think I will discover this world with her and with you, my dear readers.

So don’t be surprised if you find something unusual in what I’ve written.

Feel free to share your valuable advice, and I hope you enjoy the story.
