“This is Loguetown.” After instructing everyone to dock the ship, Nami looked towards the town in the distance.
“All right, come and get your spending money.” “Um, Nami…” Zoro said awkwardly.
“Can I borrow a little extra?
I need to buy two swords.” “Oh~” Nami glanced at him, revealing a devilish smile.
“Sure~” “But you’ll have to pay me back triple!” “Triple?” Zoro stared at Nami in disbelief.
“Are you a demon?!” He was only borrowing money to buy weapons!
Was that really necessary?
Had she become that obsessed with money?
“You don’t have to borrow it~” “Damn it.” Zoro gritted his teeth and glared at Nami.
After a long pause, he managed to squeeze out the words.
“Give me the money.” “Here.
Five hundred thousand Belly.
That should be enough, right?” “Hmph.” How was Zoro supposed to know if that was enough?
All he knew was that he didn’t want to look at that smug expression any longer.
“I’m going to buy ingredients.” After taking his share of the money, Sanji grabbed Usopp and headed off.
“Hey, hey, hey!
I have things I want to buy too!” “We can do that afterwards!” “Fine…” Usopp nodded resignedly, then glanced at Zoro’s departing figure.
“Is he really going to be okay by himself?” Usopp realized something.
There was a very high chance that Zoro was hopelessly directionally challenged.
“Probably…” Sanji hesitated.
“Maybe?” As for Luffy?
Luffy had run off a long time ago.
He hadn’t even collected his spending money.
After watching everyone leave, Nami looked at Kain.
“Let’s go.
It’s just the two of us now.” “Since we didn’t buy anything last time we came ashore, we can get everything we need here in Loguetown.” “Mm.
We’ll buy you some clothes too.” Kain was still wearing the same outfit he had been wearing from the start.
“I think these clothes are perfectly fine.” Kain looked down at himself.
He couldn’t see any problem with them.
Nami rolled her eyes.
As expected…
All men were the same.
Give them one set of clothes, and they’d wear it for a year.
“Come on, let’s go.” There was no need to worry about leaving the pirate ship behind.
They’d be back as soon as they’d finished shopping.
“Hm?” As they walked through the town, Kain suddenly sensed something and looked up at a tower in the distance.
‘Had someone been standing there just now?’ According to the information being transmitted by his glasses, the airflow around that area had changed dramatically.
‘Could that be Luffy’s father?’ “What’s wrong?” Nami asked.
“Nothing.” Kain shook his head.
“Let’s go.
I need to buy some tools and other supplies anyway.” “I’ll make you some protective equipment.” Nami was far too fragile at the moment.
If she wasn’t careful, it would be easy for someone to kill her.
“That sounds great!” Nami nodded enthusiastically.
“Then what are we waiting for?
Let’s hurry!” She was very fond of staying alive.
Now that both Kain and Luffy had bounties, bounty hunters could target them at any time.
After the two of them had left, a dark green figure appeared on the rooftop.
“So he noticed me.” Dragon narrowed his eyes.
“Is this the scientist on Luffy’s ship?” Interesting.
He certainly had remarkably sharp perception.
The only question was how capable he really was as a scientist.
If his research skills were good enough, then perhaps he might be useful to the Revolutionary Army.
Dragon glanced at Luffy, who was searching for the execution platform where the Pirate King had been executed, and said, “When the time comes, your old man may have to borrow that person from you.” The Revolutionary Army needed talented people like that.
Only then could they properly equip and strengthen their forces.
But now wasn’t the right time.
A gentle breeze swept past as Dragon vanished from where he stood and it looked as if he had never appeared at all.
… “Bad news, Colonel Smoker!” A Marine suddenly pushed open the office door.
He was hit by a cloud of smoke just as he was about to speak.
“Cough!
Cough!
Cough!
Cough!” ‘Why was the entire room filled with smoke?’ “What is it?” Smoker glanced at his subordinate and frowned.
“Why are you still so reckless?
Haven’t I told you before?
Don’t get so worked up whenever something happens.” “Sorry, sir, but we’ve spotted the Straw Hat Pirates near the harbor.” “The Straw Hat Pirates?” Smoker paused.
“Who are they?” ‘Was there even such a crew?’ ‘He knew practically every pirate worth mentioning in East Blue but he had never heard of them before.’ “They’re a newly emerged major pirate crew!
They defeated Buggy the Clown, Krieg, and Arlong in East Blue.
Their captain’s bounty was only recently issued; it’s 50 Million Belly.
And there’s another wanted criminal on the ship with a bounty of 30 Million Belly.’ “Oh?” Smoker’s interest was finally piqued.
“50 Million and 30 Million, huh?” Now those were pirates worth capturing personally.
With this thought in mind, Smoker put on his jacket, picked up his jitte and headed towards the door.
“I’ll go capture them myself.” “By yourself, sir?” “But they’re major pirates.
Going alone might be…” “Are you telling me how to do my job?” Smoker turned around and glared fiercely at the Marine.
“Do you even know who I am?!” “They’re just a few pirates.
I don’t need an entire force to deal with them!” Was a pirate with a fifty-million-Belly bounty considered a major pirate?
They really hadn’t seen much of the world.
What would they do if they encountered pirates with bounties over a hundred million Belly?
Smoker sighed.
As expected, the Four Seas really weren’t where he belonged.
“By the way, where’s Tashigi?” “Petty Officer Tashigi went out to have her weapons maintained.” The Marine replied before asking, “Should I call her back?” “That girl…” Smoker shook his head as he thought about the absent-minded young woman.
“Forget it.
There’s no need.
I was only asking.” He was simply worried that she might run into the Straw Hat Pirates.
At her current level, she wouldn’t stand a chance against them.
“The harbor, right?” “Yes, sir.” “Understood.” Smoker transformed into a cloud of smoke and shot into the sky, heading towards the waterfront.
As he passed over the shopping district, his eyes met Kain’s below for a brief moment.
Then they both calmly looked away.
“What’s wrong?” Nami looked up at the sky, but she didn’t see anything unusual.
“Nothing.” Kain smiled and shook his head as he casually took the shopping bags from her hands.
“Let’s keep going.” “Once we’ve finished buying clothes and everything else, I’ll take you back.” It seemed that Smoker was already making his move, and it looked like their confrontation was drawing nearer.
However…
Kain narrowed his eyes as he looked into the distance.
He really wanted to personally witness that scene from Luffy’s life that resembled a miracle.
If things went wrong, though…
he could always step in and save Luffy afterwards.
