“We’ve already bought so much stuff.

That should be enough, right?” Kain looked helplessly at the two large bundles on the ground.

Fortunately, he had the foresight to buy his tools first.Full novel: One Piece: Scientist of the Straw Hats — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Well…

It didn’t take many tools anyway.

Thinking about it, Kain couldn’t help but marvel at the power of his divine abilities.

With just simple tools, or even with his bare hands, he could now create all kinds of incredible inventions!

As expected of comedic characters, he possessed ridiculously powerful abilities.

“Mm…” Nami tapped her lips thoughtfully and glanced at the two bundles.

“That should be enough.” “Then let’s go.” Kain nodded.

He then casually stuffed both bundles into his pocket.

Nami: ‘???’ “Are you performing a magic trick or something?” “It’s just a Space Pocket.

Nothing worth mentioning.” Kain waved his hand dismissively.

“I made some spatial equipment to make things easier in the future.” Nami frowned and looked around carefully.

Only after confirming that nobody nearby had noticed did she breathe a sigh of relief.

She stepped closer and lowered her voice.

“In the future, just tell people you’re a Devil Fruit user.

Otherwise, I’m worried someone might target you.” If it were just his other inventions, Nami wouldn’t think much of it, but this storage-type spatial equipment was different.

Who knew how many greedy people would covet something like that?

“It’ll be fine.” Kain smiled.

“I’ve already thought of a solution.” He would simply claim that he had eaten the: ‘Zoan-type, Mythical Zoan, Human-Human Fruit: Inventor Form.’ A fruit that allowed him to create all kinds of inventions, though most of them could only be used by himself.

A Devil Fruit was a very convenient explanation and there was no way he wouldn’t take advantage of it.

“That makes sense.” Nami nodded and stretched lazily.

“In that case, let’s go and buy a few more things.” “Again…?” Kain’s face instantly fell.

Had he known this would happen, he never would have shown off.

Suddenly, a commotion erupted in the distance, capturing their attention.

“What’s going on?” “Huh?

Isn’t that Usopp?” Nami pointed towards Usopp, who was standing among a crowd, sweating profusely.

“What’s happening to him?” ‘Why was he holding a pistol?’ Could it be…

A duel?

As they watched the crowd escort Usopp towards the outskirts of town, Kain and Nami exchanged a glance.

“Let’s go and see what’s happening.'” Judging by the look on Usopp’s face, he didn’t seem too keen on participating in whatever the hell he is participating in.

“Could someone be threatening him?” Nami’s expression darkened.

If that were the case, she wouldn’t be polite.

Well…

she’d let Kain handle it.

The two of them quickly followed the crowd to the outskirts of Loguetown.

This was the designated location for gunslinger duels.

“You know the rules, right?” Carol said to Usopp, “Stand back-to-back, walk forward, and after the count of ten, both sides fire.” “The first person to fall loses.” Usopp swallowed nervously.

A gun wasn’t even his weapon of choice, and now he was expected to participate in a formal duel?

But at this point, he was stuck riding a tiger and couldn’t get off.

There was no easy way to back out.

Seeing his predicament, Nami tugged on Kain’s sleeve.

“Hurry up and save him.” She didn’t want to watch Usopp die right in front of her.

“Don’t worry yet.” Kain patted Nami on the shoulder to signal that she should stay calm.

Then he looked at Daddy and said, “This man doesn’t have any killing intent.” He was probably just trying to teach Usopp a lesson.

As Carol continued counting, Usopp gritted his teeth and took one step after another.

He was genuinely terrified.

After all, he didn’t even know how to use a flintlock pistol properly!

“5!” Carol continued counting.

“4!” “3!” “Damn it!” Usopp clenched his teeth, pulled a smoke bomb out of his pocket and slammed it onto the ground.

Bang!

A cloud of smoke spread out and completely enveloped him.

‘Now there’s no way he can hit me,’ Usopp thought.

Bang!

Despite Usopp being hidden in the smoke, Daddy fired without hesitation.

The bullet struck his pistol, knocking it from his hand and sending it clattering to the ground.

As the smoke cleared, Usopp was revealed, sitting on the ground and drenched in cold sweat.

He had almost died!

Seeing this, the surrounding spectators looked disappointed.

“That’s it?” “I thought you had at least the courage to pull the trigger, kid.” “What a waste of my time.” Usopp ignored them.

‘What did their opinions have to do with him?’ ‘He just wanted to stay alive.’ “Please let me go.” Usopp spoke with complete sincerity.

“I’m just an unknown little pirate.” “Even if you kill me, you won’t get any money.” Daddy remained silent.

To be honest, if Usopp hadn’t been bullying his daughter, he wouldn’t have gotten involved in the first place.

The kid was just a nobody.

After the crowd had dispersed, Usopp finally noticed Kain and Nami standing at the back.

He froze.

“You guys were here the whole time?!” “Damn it!

Why didn’t you help me?” “Usopp, this was your duel,” Kain replied.

“Were you really asking me to interfere in your duel?” Usopp fell silent.

It was true.

A man’s duel was not something that outsiders should interfere with.

But he…

“Kid, your name is Usopp?” Daddy suddenly asked, looking at him in surprise.

He examined Usopp carefully from head to toe and realized that the boy really did resemble Yasopp.

“Yes.

Is there a problem?” Usopp gathered his courage and stood up.

“Yasopp is your father, isn’t he?” “You know my father?” Usopp was stunned.

This man actually knew Yasopp?

“You could say that.” Daddy glanced toward a distant grave, a nostalgic expression appearing on his face.

“Back then, your father and I once had a wager.

But in the end, I lost… I was defeated by him.” He then recounted the events from years ago, especially how Yasopp had spared him because of his daughter.

As he spoke, the way Daddy looked at his daughter became increasingly gentle.

To be honest, he was deeply grateful to Yasopp.

If not for him, his daughter probably wouldn’t be living such a happy life today.
