“Brother!!” Shock was a feeling Elias wasn’t accustomed to in his daily livelihood, finding that injured Tier Five beast to help him ascend to a Star Tier Five beast male did not shock him as much as this.
“Aziel?
How—” he stopped himself as his brother pulled away from him with a radiant smile on his face.
He didn’t look so sick anymore and the pale sheen that had always covered his entire body had dulled somewhat.
Now he looked energetic, more than he had ever been in his entire life.
“A goddess came here last night!!” Aziel exclaimed, his eyes shining brightly as he remembered this so called goddess.
“A goddess?” He couldn’t help but ask and Aziel nodded.
“Yes, she was the one who healed me!” Now that made him pause.
“Healed you?
What do you mean by that?” He asked.
“I wanted to tell you last night when you got back but I think her magic made me drowsy so I couldn’t and this morning when I woke up, you weren’t here so I decided to wait for you.
She came here in a funny way last night but she was the one who healed me.” Aziel laughed when he said that ‘in a funny way’ and Elias raised an eyebrow at him.
“So she came here just moments before I got back last night?” He asked just to be sure he was hearing correctly and Aziel nodded vigorously.
But he didn’t believe it, not one bit.
When he had arrived, there had not been an unusual scent in his cave so where had this goddess come from?
Thin air?
Now even that would have left him a scent to track but he hadn’t smelled anything at all.
“She looked oddly familiar to me…almost like that evil female that always caused us problems but she was more beautiful…like a goddess!!” Evil female that always caused us problems…..
For a moment, Elias stopped to think about it, then finally, a face flashed in front of him and his eyes turned cold.
“Impossible, she couldn’t have been the one…” he mumbled to himself and Aziel hummed.
“She came in here in her cat form, I think she didn’t think I would see her.” Aziel laughed as he began to describe the cat with joy.
“So furry, I couldn’t even see her eyes!!” A cat?
His mind sent him an image of when he had been at the tribe center after being checked by the healer.
The tribe chief had been patting the head of that evil female and she seemed to have been enjoying it.
He had found it odd at that time but now, it was clear to him…as clear as day.
Cats loved head rubs a lot more than most animals did and if it wasn’t her…who else could it be?
No, he had to check just to be sure.
“Aziel, come.” He called and Aziel quickly followed him out of the cave and towards the cave of that evil female.
“Big brother, why are we headed towards that evil female’s ca—” gasps of shock rippled through the air and Elias frowned slightly and snapped out of his thoughts, his sharp amber eyes lifting toward the direction of the commotion.
Then he stopped dead in his tracks at the sight before his very eyes.
A female stood just outside the cave entrance.
No, that couldn’t be right.
His brows furrowed instinctively as his gaze swept slowly over her figure.
She was still plump, softer and fuller than most beast females in the tribe, but somehow it no longer looked unpleasant.
Instead, the extra softness only made her appear strangely delicate, almost comfortable-looking, like warmth during winter.
Her pale creamy skin practically glowed beneath the sunlight, flawless and smooth in a way that immediately drew the eye.
Long dark hair spilled down her back in messy waves, framing a face so different from the bruised and swollen one he remembered that for a brief moment, Elias genuinely wondered if he had walked towards the wrong cave.
Large eyes blinked back at the crowd in confusion, clear and bright beneath thick lashes, while naturally flushed lips parted slightly as she looked around.
Beautiful.
The word surfaced in his mind before he could stop it and that realization alone made his expression darken instantly because he knew exactly who she was.
Lyrielle.
The same obsessive female who had once chased after him endlessly.
The same troublesome villainess who had made half the tribe miserable with her jealousy and madness.
So why…why did she suddenly look so different?
“She’s the one!
She looks much better today!!
How is she in our tribe?
I haven’t seen her before!” Before he could fully comprehend his thoughts, he raised his eyes to find her gone.
What…how..
“Where is she?” He asked Aziel and Aziel smiled widely.
“She left long ago!” He exclaimed and Elias felt a sudden wave of emotion wash over him.
Was that…disappointment?
No, he just didn’t have the time to ask her about his brother.
Yes, that’s why he felt so disappointed.
Content with that explanation, he turned his gaze to that of his brother and a wicked idea flickered inside his head, making him almost grin maliciously.
“Aziel, do you know who that was?” He asked and Aziel bobbed his head in response.
“Yes, the goddess!!” Aziel exclaimed as if everyone should be aware of that and Elias’s lips tipped up into a small smirk.
“That’s lyrielle…” his brother went rigid at his proclamation before he slowly turned to look at him.
“That wicked ugly female?” He asked slowly as if he couldn’t believe it and Elias nodded in response, causing Aziel to turn pale.
“Scared?” Elias asked and Aziel glanced at the place Lyrielle had just disappeared into with a thoughtful look on his face.
“She healed me…so that counts as something right?” He asked and Elias sighed.
He hated that Lyrielle with passion but he couldn’t deny that there was no merit in what Aziel was saying.
At most, he would simply hunt something rare and bring it to her.
Yes, that should clear the debt.
Sneaking a glance at his little brother, he had a feeling that even that wouldn’t be enough.
