In front of the girls’ dormitory.

Shen Nanyin reached out to unbuckle her seatbelt and was about to push the car door open to get out when she suddenly felt a warm force gripping her wrist.

She turned back in confusion, a flicker of puzzlement flashing in her eyes.Full novel: Please Hear My Confession — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“What’s wrong?” Shen Nanyin asked softly.

Lu Jingyan stared at her for a long moment, remaining silent for quite a while before slowly speaking.

“One more thing. After we get married, you’ll need to move out of the dorm and live with me.”

Hearing this, Shen Nanyin was slightly taken aback, then quickly reacted. She blinked her eyes. “I know. Are we moving today?”

She wasn’t too surprised by his request. After all, since they had decided on a marriage of convenience, living together was only natural.

Moreover, being able to leave the Shen family was undoubtedly a relief for her.

Shen Nanyin had already mentally prepared herself for an arranged marriage early on because of Shen Dingguo, so she looked at Lu Jingyan seriously.

“Don’t worry, I will definitely fulfill my duties as Mrs. Lu.”

Meeting her clear, bright eyes, Lu Jingyan seemed a bit uncomfortable. He slightly averted his gaze and hummed in acknowledgment. “Do you have a lot of things?”

She thought for a moment, then gently shook her head. “Not much. I’ll be down soon.”

“Alright, I’ll wait here for you.”

Watching Shen Nanyin go upstairs, Lu Jingyan took out his phone and dialed Assistant Liu’s number.

“Bring my household register to the nearest Civil Affairs Bureau. I’ll be there shortly.”

Her roommates weren’t in the dorm. Shen Nanyin sent them a message explaining the situation, quickly packed her things, and went downstairs.

Her luggage was indeed very little, almost weightless. Lu Jingyan easily carried it to the car.

At the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Assistant Liu saw the two of them and stepped forward, immediately addressing her, “Mrs. Lu.”

He handed Lu Jingyan’s household register to Shen Nanyin.

Lu Jingyan shot him an approving look.

Assistant Liu received the signal for a raise.

Shen Nanyin felt a bit flustered and turned to Lu Jingyan for help.

The man’s lips curved upward. His slender, fair hand casually slipped into his pocket as he stepped forward. “Let’s go, Mrs. Lu.”

She had no choice but to take his household register, thank Assistant Liu, and quickly catch up.

Not long after submitting the materials, the small red book symbolizing their marriage was legally protected and in their hands.

However, before she could take a closer look, Lu Jingyan took it away.

“I’ll keep this,” he said, taking a photo and tucking the marriage certificate into his pocket.

Shen Nanyin couldn’t help but feel a bit stunned.

Actually, she had originally planned to take a photo as a keepsake too…

Forget it, she could ask him to send it to her later.

Shen Nanyin silently comforted herself, then casually opened her phone and started aimlessly scrolling through her social media feed.

[Married]

The wedding photo showed the man’s thin eyelids slightly raised, a hint of a smile hidden in his eyes—his looks were simply too exceptional.

So even knowing the danger, plenty of people still threw themselves at him.

A few days ago, she would never have imagined she would marry him.

Shen Nanyin silently gave it a like.

On the other side, Lu Jingyan hadn’t expected her to be willing to post on social media. After all, she was still in school, and it could easily attract too much attention and discussion.

Xu Ying’an: ??? Huh??? Huh??? Huh? Wait, can someone tell me what’s going on?

Lu Daiqing: Bro, not bad. Care to share some tips?

Qiao Chen: I was wondering how you managed to turn over a new leaf. Turns out you’re really being kept in check by a woman?!

Lu Jingyan raised an eyebrow and typed a reply to Qiao Chen.

[Mhm, my wife keeps a tight rein. Also, call her sister-in-law.]

Ms. Lu Minghui: Hurry up and bring the family’s savior home, you brat!

Lu Jingyan tilted his head slightly, his gaze falling on Shen Nanyin. “Go meet my mom?”

So soon?

Shen Nanyin hesitated for a moment, thinking it over before saying, “Shouldn’t we first go over how we met and things like that…?”

Lu Jingyan: “Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”

The car soon came to a stop at the Lu family’s ancestral home.

They passed through a spacious courtyard, where meticulously trimmed flowerbeds and shaded pathways complemented each other, and the clear water surface rippled in layers under the sunlight.

Just as they reached the entrance, Lu Daiqing came out to greet them, waving at Shen Nanyin with a smile. “Sister-in-law!”

“Do you remember me? I forgot to introduce myself before. I’m Lu Daiqing.”

Shen Nanyin was taken aback for a moment. “Hello.”

She took a moment to process the title and the name.

Recalling their first meeting at the bar that day, the woman she had mistaken for an ex-girlfriend was actually Lu Jingyan’s sister…

Lu Daiqing looked at Lu Jingyan, clicking her tongue in amazement. “Brother, how did you suddenly go from being a world-weary, gloomy guy to a sunny, cheerful boy?”

Lu Jingyan was in a good mood today and couldn’t be bothered to argue with her. He took Shen Nanyin’s hand and led her inside.
